The formidable daadisaa of Balika Vadhu will soon be reliving her younger carefree days.Actress Heeba Shah, daughter of Naseeruddin Shah, will soon
be seen playing the young version of the feisty widowed matriarch Kalyani in the popular TV show.
Fondly known as daadisaa in the show, the role has Surekha Sikri tightly controlling the reins of the entire household.
Heeba has already started shooting and will be seen on the show later this week. Known for being extremely choosy as far as commercial films and shows are concerned, Heeba agreed to play the role only because Surekha Sikri is her maternal aunt.
Heeba confirmed the news and said, "Yes, I am doing a TV show after a long time. The only reason I will be playing the younger version is because it's my aunt's role in the show. I amplaying the younger and vulnerable Kalyani. My role will justify and explain her character as the daadisaa that viewers have known over the months.
My role will show what kind of a person Kalyani was in her younger days and the kind of person she has become after experiencing everything. My parts will be shown through flashbacks in the show. I have recently started shooting for Balika Vadhu and its fun."
Ashvini Yardi, programming head of the channel, said, "The idea of introducing this particular track in the show by getting a talented actress like Heeba serves the purpose of creating a context for the complex character that daadisaa is."
