I think Shyam only said to his dad that he's doing this for revenge because its the only way he could convince his father...remember when Shyam left the house and Radha followed him n when Madan Singh came to take them back with a jeep...well it didnt show anything abt them after that, the show just cut straight to Madhan coming to the haveli to ask for Sugna's hand in marriage to Shyam

That could mean Shyam convinced his father that he's marrying Sugna for revenge and Madan would like that so would agree to the marriage. And Shyam didnt mention anything about the pregnancy which shows he's not doing this for revenge, if he wanted revenge he could have spread the news of the pregnancy,

So maybe Shyam will be mean to Sugna when his dad is around but when they're alone i guess he'll be nice...

i thought if shyam and madan singh are working together then maybe the beating was to fool his mother.

still ths theory is much better. it will save shyam from becoming a villian which i cud not have borne!!
