Hi everybody ! Headlines Today's Chief Entertainment Correspondent Anna MM Vetticad did an interview with Avika Gor , and I'm just posting a few snippets of it , as far as I can remember : )
The questions are not in the correct order , I'm just posting them as far as I can remember : )
HT : I've heard that Avinash , who plays your husband Jagdish on the show , is a very good friend of yours ?
Avika : Yes , we are very good friends , we play together on the sets , study together...we are very good friends!
HT : So what do you two talk about ?
Avika : Many things....about what we should play , ludo or snakes and ladders , whether we should ride our bicycles or play badminton....then about what we should study , science or maths...
HT : So tell me , with Balika Vadhu its you who has garnered the most attention , everyone has given greater recognition to you , so did Avinash ever feel bad about this , that people are only giving you more attention ?
Avika : No....see , some people like me , and some people like only Jagdish . Its like that.
HT : But it is you who are getting all the awards
Avika : But its the same thing na ! If I get an award , it means that we both get it !
HT : So are you both such close friends that your getting an award means he gets an award too ?
Avika : Yes....we are very good friends
HT : So what does he tell you about his school ?
Avika : He also has the same experience....people call him beend , nakta bandar and ask him "Where is Anandi" ? And they ask him " She was studying so well , why did you stop her ? " Like that....
On Miss Universe
HT : I've heard that you want to become Miss Universe ?
Avika : Yes ....its my dream ...
HT : Since when ?
Avika : Um....since a long back
HT : Before Balika Vadhu ?
Avika : Yes....from 2007 , when I did a show for Giny and Jony
HT : So why do you want to become Miss Universe ?
Avika : I always wanted to be Miss Universe....and when I grow up I will surely become one .
HT : At the contest , there is one question they always ask - which woman has inspired you the most. What will be your answer ?
Avika : Mama.
HT : But most girls say Indira Gandhi and Mother Teresa...
Avika : Yes , them too !
HT : But let me tell you something , most girls go into such beauty pageants because they want to use it as a stepping stone to films and Bollywood . But you dont need such a way , you are already getting films offers !
Avika : See , after I become Miss Universe , I'll model , I'll do Hollywood and Bollywood films and I'll also do charity for handicapped children .
HT : Why handicapped children ?
Avika : I've always wanted to do something for them .
On Bollywood
HT : Who is your favourite actor ?
Avika : SRK , Hrithik,Aamir,Imran,Shahid,Abhishek-
HT : Thats the whole industry !
Avika : [ Laughs] See, I like SRK's and Abhishesk's style of talking and acting , Hrithik and Shahid's dance , and Aamir Khan -- I would like to ask him where he got so much talent from ! He is so talented !
HT : You are already very talented Avika !
HT : Tell me what films you would like to do ?
Avika : Nice ones !
HT : But as per you every film will be nice !
Avika : See people have preferences...you like action films , then I like animation...like that
HT : Have you watched Ghajini ? Did you like it ?
Avika : yes....Aamir's acting , hairstyle and the story
HT : And Shah Rukh's RNBDJ ?
Avika : Yes ! I liked his acting and the makeover
HT : So when you change out of these traditional clothes and wear western ones , do people fail to recognize you ?
Avika : The ask me " Are you that girl....that beendni ? " And then I say yes !
On Balika Vadhu
HT : So how did you come into acting ?
Avika : I performed for a dance academy ...and then someone recorded my perfomance -he was a casting director- and then I got a call from Sphere Origins for Raajkumaar Arryan . Then Phir Koi Hai , Karam Apna Apna , Chalti Ka Naam Gaddi , Meri Awaz Ko... , happened and then SO again gave me a call for BV .
HT : Whenever you have any suggestions for the script , do you tell them to Purnendu Shekhar , the scriptwriter ?
Avika : No ! He is so big....how can I tell him ? Even if I have some idea , I tell him and then he explains to me the logic behind what he has written
HT : Accha he explains it to you ?
Avika : Yes
HT : So Avika - how do you manage all this - acting , school etc ?'
Avika : I have school from 7-12.30 ; then I come to the sets , then I finish my work and go home, watch serials and sleep
HT : So at what time do you get home ?
Avika : Around 7-8
HT : So how many hours of shooting a day ?
Avika : Depends upon the scene....some 1 hours sometimes 4
HT : Dont you get tired ?
Avika : No !
HT : Or bored during the long breaks between shooting ?
Avika : I do my homework then !
