A lot of things happened in today's episode, and I just couldn't stop laughing throughout...but what really captured my attention was the last scene of the show.
Essentially Aishwariya returns home and comes running in to ask for her job back. And begins to spill out various secrets about the family that goes to show just how fragmented they truly are...

1) Maggie pays her to keep a watch on Sharmila.
So how sad is this?? When there is no sense of unity between the senior bahus, it's no wonder they feel so threatened by Rajni herself.
Also, Sharmila quite rightly (and sadly) points out to Dhyaan that this is why she doesn't enjoy staying in a joint family.

2) Shogu does nothing the entire day but hang with her mother and complain about the two.
I think Shaan rightly pointed out that there is no reason to be upset because everyone knows exactly how she's like...but once again, it goes to show just how mistrustful the ladies of the house are with one another! How will Rajni find love here when there is none to be shared?

3) Gyaan did nothing when Dhyaan was ousted.
I think this is a very interesting and poignant point to make. We saw Rajni trying to appease the dad, and Shaan nearly ripped his hair out telling Amrish and Dhyaan to stop fighting. But where was Gyaan in all of this? Gyaan's inability to speak up against his wife and mother, and also his father, is becoming less a sign of kindness and more a sign of weakness - and it's not a great example to set for his daughter. While Amrish is usually quiet, he speaks up as the man of the house when there are important decisions to be made. And Surili generally follows as well, no matter what complaints she has. I hope Gyaan realises this and acts on it.

4) Shaan is a lukkha who spends his entire day roaming with Rajni🤣
I guess as viewers of the show, it seems a little unfair because we know what's actually happening behind the scenes. But it also doesn't excuse his generally irritated behaviour when it comes to matters of the family. He himself has been shown to be very wary of fights in the house, choosing to stay far away and not interfere. Of course, with Rajni that aspect is slowly disappearing as he jumps straight into most matters.

4b) Shaan's massive ego
"So proud of me" Good one Aish!👍🏼 We've all talked about how his biggest personality flaw is his massively inflated ego, where everything Rajni does he credits himself and how he repeats to everyone that he's a genius. While he's not as mean as Shogu, his arrogance and pride can almost equal hers (and hence why he retorts back at her most of the time)...maybe it's time to notch it down Shaan!

I don't remember if she might have mentioned anything else, but I like how it was a neat summary of the flaws of the family. It was a good lesson, because she essentially showed that even the better members still have their issues that allows more fragmentation to happen in the family.

Last of all, the two bahus ask for their husbands' shares...

I felt quite bad for Amrish who merely stood there and observed what everyone had to do, before probably making his decision. I hope Rajni finds a solution in all of this mess!

I thought it was very clever how the family came to know how very divided they are even when they live together. And all from an outsiders POV. Now they know how outsiders see them as opposed to what they think about themselves. I hope this is the start of Rajni actually making the family united instead of them fragmenting.

Ah! I'm SO looking forward to watching this in a bit! Didn't expect that today would be a mahaepisode day, and even then, I didn't expect this scene to air today!

I've always liked Aishwarya's upfront nature - and I totally agree with both of you regarding the role she, as an outsider, has in showing the Kant family the mirror! Once I watch the episode, I'm sure I'll have a lot more to say! Great post, Tavita! 👍🏼

Why am I not surprised? 😳 You know, I actually feel pretty bad for Maggie. She is portrayed as someone who is looked down upon by the 3 S's (Surili, Shogata, and Sharmila) because of her poor knowledge of English and the fact that she is not a Bengali. Sound familiar...? That in itself is very, very sad. Even though she is the eldest bahu, she gets no respect from Surili, so I'm curious as to how Maggie even became part of the Kant parivaar in the first place. Was she Amrish's choice? I liked the Punjabi solidarity between Maggie and Amrish in the initial episodes. Now, with Rajni in the house, Maggie probably feels even more alienated. Sharmila does have a point...the infighting is one of the reasons I'm wary of the idea of living in a joint family, as well. But that doesn't excuse the fact that the youngest bahu acts like some sort of spoiled princess all the time. Gosh, I hope these bahus can find some common ground and establish respect and some kind of rapport...

Would you say that Shogata is the most hypocritical out of all the Kant ladies? She seems to be one of those women who thrives by making snide comments about others behind their backs. Hmm, I wonder where she got THAT from. She throws ridiculous, over-the-top tantrums and then calls Rajni a drama queen. That's the pot calling the kettle black. While watching her go berserk over the lottery ticket prize money, I thought, "I know she's spoiled and egotistical and materialistic, but this is taking that to a new extreme. She looks insane..." Oh, and to add to the messed up family dynamics, Surili is also not beyond insulting her own daughter and taking credit for something that Rajni actually did...all for the sake of looking good in the public eye. Terrible.

3) Gyaan did nothing when Dhyaan was ousted.

Ah, yes. Ghyaan, the silent one. Ever since we were first introduced to him, I thought he reminded me of Dhritarashtra...a powerful ruler in name, but essentially a weak, blind man who is unsure of himself and is easily swayed by others' strong opinions. Ghyaan's love for his mother is blind - which we've seen portrayed as a defining character quirk - and this is a problem, because Surili may be his mother, but her way of dealing with relationship problems and even society at large is unacceptable. No one has really ever spoken out against Ghyaan until now, which is why I thought it was brilliant to show that Aishwarya pays attention to everything and everyone - she's like a hawk and I appreciate her for it even more now. This family needs to be shown the mirror and she says it like it is.

4) Shaan is a lukkha who spends his entire day roaming with Rajni🤣

While he's not as mean as Shogu, his arrogance and pride can almost equal hers (and hence why he retorts back at her most of the time)...maybe it's time to notch it down Shaan!

Shaan is an odd one...He does have an inflated sense of self-importance, and I think being with Rajni is slowly going to change that. He also seemed like a non-interventionist at first (and who wouldn't be, with a family as crazy as his!) but at the same time, his purpose behind creating Rajni was to help reestablish a balance within his household, so he obviously was already aware of how messed up things were. And he was trying to find a solution to the problem through his engineering skills, which I think is commendable. His irritation is justified, but of course it won't help when it comes to actually dealing with relationship issues. For that, a person needs to be able to listen calmly and patiently, sympathize, and make an effort to understand different points of view. Shaan is woefully lacking in these areas when it comes to dealing with his family and friends...but that is changing for the better. He has a sharp mind, is very observant, and means well...he just doesn't know how to go about mending fences in a way that is effective. It's tough but he still tries to mediate. His perseverance is one of his best traits. And that is worth a lot!

I don't remember if she might have mentioned anything else, but I like how it was a neat summary of the flaws of the family. It was a good lesson, because she essentially showed that even the better members still have their issues that allows more fragmentation to happen in the family.

All will be well as far as the batwara goes...Rajni makes sure of that. But the fragmentation within the family's interpersonal relationships...it's going to take a lot of work to find those cracks and heal them. And Rajni can't do that alone. Until the family members introspect and acknowledge their own shortcomings and WANT to become better people, there's not much that can be done.

Once again, thanks for such a great post! And yes, thanks to Aishwarya, too! Here's hoping that the story continues to be written with an upward trajectory for all the characters!

But when bauji throwing dhyan away gyan said bauji plz don't throw him I'll pay his debts but her wife silent him. He is under shadow of his mom then wife.
Abt shoguta she is really a attention seeker n selfish girl
She only love ( I m nt sure ) her mum n no one.
Abt shan he is not lukka or selfish person
He create rajni and give those adorable value to her
Ya its true she is more then his imagination but its also true he is creator.
N about his self praise he is not proudy at all .being alone n always getting scoldings n blame of doing nothing he become little desperate hear some thing good for himself. But no one do .so he praise himself or when rajni praise him his genuine smile adore his face.
Only thing I find bad abt him is why he only scold poor dev infact dev is his partner in all deeds n support him more then his family n always bear consequence of shajini doings.
N yes he have to understand his responsibility along with passion

Right now dhyan is very good character .he raised his voice against wrong deed whether it is done by his mom wife or anyone else. He is so cute .n his expression in last two episodes are even cuter.n aishwarya not take his name in wrong doings
Thanks

Completely agree! People always say that introspection is important for anyone to get a deeper understanding of themselves, but sometimes you need outsiders to really show you the mirror...also, it probably showed them that even someone like Aishwariya, whom they all underestimate, can see through their lies and cheatings...😕😕

@bold: Thanks for bringing up this extremely point in the conversation! I'd quite forgotten about it, but you're very right that Maggie probably has found no love from Surili - very likely due to her being Punjabi😭😭 Very often Surili calls Maggie stupid and other insults...showing her down in front of Sharmila - how horrible!!😡😡
@Sharmila: There's no doubt that Surili must have hand-picked her from one of those high-society people she roams with...hence, even though she literally lives in a mansion, has absolutely NOTHING to do the entire day - she can't stand it.

I think to sort them out, Rajni needs to either show them how to support one another or teach Surili to respect and teach her bahus a thing or two instead of constantly mocking them.

2) Shogu does nothing the entire day but hang with her mother and complain about the two.

Would you say that Shogata is the most hypocritical out of all the Kant ladies? She seems to be one of those women who thrives by making snide comments about others behind their backs. Oh, and to add to the messed up family dynamics, Surili is also not beyond insulting her own daughter and taking credit for something that Rajni actually did...all for the sake of looking good in the public eye. Terrible.

@Lottery ticket: 🤣🤣 I nearly died at that part...and was genuinely shocked that Surili actually admonished her for it?? So Surili has some shred of decency? I think it's also because the money belongs to Shaan and not just Rajni, hence she gets Shogu out. Poor Amrish - he has raised his daughter with no want and she still behaves like a hawk in front of a bag of money. Pathetic.

@Surili: Mother and daughter merely try to top on another in being mean/hypocrite/downright horrible human beings.
I honestly, honestly, do not understand what Amrish sees in this woman. She did it back during the blood donation drive, but this time she has seriously upped the ante.

3) Gyaan did nothing when Dhyaan was ousted.

Ah, yes. Ghyaan, the silent one. This family needs to be shown the mirror and she says it like it is.

Yes and yes!! The other characters often make fun of Gyaan's devotion to his mom, but this is probably the first time someone has shown just how terrible it can be for the others.
On an extra note, it was funny how Maggie had to come to his "rescue" to stop her from
In a way I guess she was just being defensive, but the very fact that she felt she had to support goes to show that she probably doesn't think too much of him either. To add on, when she said that Gyaan has had to handle everything himself, Dhyaan was actually fuming at him because he simply kept quiet about the fact that Dhyaan had helped him with the project. That wasn't right on Gyaan's part either.

4) Shaan is a lukkha who spends his entire day roaming with Rajni🤣
4b) Shaan's massive ego

Shaan is an odd one...He does have an inflated sense of self-importance, and I think being with Rajni is slowly going to change that. His perseverance is one of his best traits. And that is worth a lot!

@Empathy: Very true! It's like he told Rajni, that he is become more in touch with his human side while trying to talk to a robot! And it's nice that you mentioned his perseverance, because it definitely shows through with the way he has been trying to end this mindless fight!
I think Rajni reflects and amplifies the best values in Shaan, such as the fact that she should try to keep the family together, so there is definitely hope on his end😃😃

I don't remember if she might have mentioned anything else, but I like how it was a neat summary of the flaws of the family. It was a good lesson, because she essentially showed that even the better members still have their issues that allows more fragmentation to happen in the family.

I wonder how they'll treat Rajni post-revelation... something tells me that while the men might acknowledge their flaws, the ladies are merely going to find an excuse to dump this all on Rajni...

Still, who knows where CVs plan to go next!

Thanks for the read and comments! I definitely would agree with your points and the others that you brought up. To be honest, I can't tell if Shogu loves anyone but herself! She's also insulting Matthew the way Surili insults Amrish😭😭
@Shaan: Quite true! Rajni is a reflection of what is good in Shaan - so I think
I think he gets into trouble because everyone expects him to treat Rajni as a person while he usually thinks of her as his robot so he treats her differently...but it was sweet that he was touched by her comments!

@Dev: Agree! I have no idea why everyone thinks so lowly of him, but at least Shaan should be grateful for all the times Dev has brought him out of trouble - usually by taking it on himself!

@Dhyaan: True! So far, she didn't say anything about Amrish or Dhyaan...and also in a previous scene Amrish was telling Shaan Rajni and Gyaan about how capable and wonderful Dhyaan is...he has really taken after his father and that's why he is one of the best in the show😊😊
