Quick Thoughts [Episode 56]
A/N: I've decided to try posting all of my spontaneous reactions, thoughts, and reflections about the episodes in a single place...I'll try keeping up with this throughout the week.

- Amrish is awesome. He kept saying "bye" in half a million ways, and it made me laugh - which I am immensely thankful for!

- Sharmila is pathetic. She's much, much worse than a 5-year-old! She said she couldn't live in the Kants' house, so she forced Dhyaan to get a flat. Now she can't leave the Kants' house because she's too spoiled of a brat to accompany her husband! Is marriage a joke to her?!

- What on earth was Shaan doing, trying to pin the blame on Rajni as well? I hope to god he wasn't serious. Maybe he was trying to get Amrish to say, "No, it's not Rajni's fault, no one has to be punished!" Whatever his plan was, it obviously didn't work! In any case, Sharmila is the problem here, not Rajni! As much as I love Shaan, I think he has some priorities to sort out. There's still lots of room for emotional maturity in him. I hope Rajni helps with that.

- Dhyaan needs to grow up and grow a spine while he's at it. Loved the line about Sharmila looking more and more like a karela to him now. So true, thank god he said it! Sharmila is not worth any of this trouble!

- Kuhu loves Rajni so much already! She's such a precious child! I love the bond they share! But I miss Palak - that girl had the perfect amount of sweetness and spunk in her portrayal of Kuhu! I hope she can manage to come back!

- Teeny tiny moments between Shaan and Rajni are what get me through the madness in this show. "Aur aap bhi...mere Ram!" Awww! And later, she fixes his hair. That was an unexpectedly cute bit!

- Loved loved loved Amrish and Rajni today! These two are consistently the most humane beings in the show.

I'd really like Surili to come to terms with the fact that a person's character/nature matters far, far more than heritage and cultural background. Just because Sharmila is (supposedly) Bengali, that doesn't mean she should be given a clean slate each and every time her infantile behavior causes problems in the Kant family dynamics. Apparently one of Surili's main issues with Rajni is the fact that her efficient, caring, calm daughter-in-law is not Bengali...But what about the fact that Shaan CHOSE Rajni and wanted to marry only her? Does that not matter to Surili at all? *shakes head wearily*

Amrish and Rajni are only watchable now with Rajni and Shaan's cute moments!!
Kuhu is cute but really loved Palak.. Surili and Sharmila, the less I say the better 😵
Dhyaan still seems clueless and Shaan has really amazed me by blaming Rajni !!

I'm going to come back here with a longer post for the episode later on, but for now...

You took the words right out of my mouth, Jenny!

Thank god for Amrish Kant and Rajni! I'm hanging on to the Shaan-Rajni moments because they're slowly but surely influencing each other, and that's primarily why I'm watching this show...They tide me through the chaos and drama that has engulfed this story - I want to see more of them!

When I think of Kuhu, I always think of Palak. That's not going to change as far as my mind is concerned! I miss seeing her onscreen already, though!

I'm not going to say anything about Surili and Co. because my blood pressure will start to go up, but I will hold out for a miracle and a change of heart from them. Any time would be good. Sooner would be better than later.

I like Dhyaan when he's confident and sassy, not a meek and silent spectator. The same goes for Shaan, too - so I hope both brothers gain something out of this Kant-style vanvaas experience that will make them better, stronger people.

Quick Thoughts [Episode 57]

- Amrish is a man of his word. And I am so, so glad that he's trying to knock some sense into Surili's head, who STILL thinks that Rajni has caused this rift in the house. Ugh. Keep at it, Amrish!

- Meanwhile, Shaan and Dhyaan have their own issues. One is grumpy, the other seems pretty happy...Except when Amrish shows no sign of taking his decision back. This is serious...

- "Bar mein bhi yeh line hai, kya? I hope beer apni taraf padi ho, yaar!"

- Dhyaan asks a good question, but Shaan is having none of it today. "Sookhi ghaas humare ghar mein aayi kahan se?" "Tujhe iss waqt yeh bother kar rahi hai ki humare ghar mein sookhi ghaas kahan se aayi, right?" *gives Dhyaan a look that shuts him up*

- "Rajni, yeh sab dekh ke, na, mera BP badh raha hai! I'm kind of losing it. Do you get it?" She takes his wrist to take his pulse. "Haan, haan, check karo! Bataao kitna hai! Bolo, bolo!" Instant reply. "140/100." "Good! Aur bataao!" "Relax, Shaan." "Relax, you want me to relax?!" Shaan continues to rant while Rajni tracks his rising blood pressure aloud. Thankfully for both of them, Dhyaan's interruption breaks up the medical updates. As usual, I love the contrast between how frantic Shaan is and how composed Rajni is.

- Rajni decides it might be a good idea to try tickling Shaan with a piece of grass...Nope. "Main masti ke mood mein nahi hoon." "Aap toh kabhi masti ke mood mein hote hi nahi ho! Hmph!" With a pout, Rajni unhappily throws the dry grass away. And Shaan starts to chuckle.

- LOVE Shaan and Rajni's conversation about seeing the world in binaries! Shaan contemplates how he used to be like Rajni earlier, viewing things in simple dichotomies...But now, after making Rajni and being with her for a while, he's starting to become more emotional. I love that Shaan is the one who voices these thoughts and begins to lapse into a sort of pensive mood. I have a lot more to say about this scene...But I will save that for another day!

- The bit with the ghaas! So unexpected! I was like, "Shaan, what are you doing?" He has such a wacky sense of humor - and his sarcasm is pretty potent stuff when he chooses to use it! Here, though, both come into play in an oddly impish way...He holds out the ghaas...and she actually eats it! Only these two, man. Only these two can do something like this. Whose idea was it to improv that bit?

- Shaan's seemingly endless reasoning process about his current miserable state of existence - every new line of thought is more hilarious than the last! "Galti ki tune, scientist banke! In fact, no! Galti ki paida hoke! Yeah! Toh galti Papa ki hai! Yeah." I pretty much died laughing. A+ for dialogue delivery, Karan!

- Rajni is too cute! Just when I thought we wouldn't be hearing of any more new names for Shaan, she comes up with "Pareshaan Prabhu!" Because she is in Sci-Fi Sita mode, and he is her Ram!

- "Humans! Complicated. They also snore." LOL, I love the way Ridhima's voice changes as Rajni says that last sentence as an afterthought. But what I love most about this little moment is how Rajni appears to be adapting Shaan's "It's complicated!" in her own way and then applies it to her assessments of situations.

- Random aside: Rajni really takes this vanvaas thing seriously, and I find it amusing how she shows up with a bundle of grass and bricks to create a makeshift bed...and then later, she starts standing guard inside the house, walking back and forth like Lakshman, completely vigilant even though there's no risk...Amazing, haha. What's next?

Quick Thoughts [Episode 58]

- If the Krazy Kants keep this up, I think I'm going to go mad, along with Shaan! My god, that house is in more pandemonium now than it was when we were first introduced to its residents!

- I LOVED Shaan today! Karan absolutely KILLED it! 👏 Whether Shaan was ranting about how everyone in his house is mad and he's also going mad...or when he tried to stop his father and brother from making matters worse...I have no idea how Karan enacts all of the chaos within Shaan's mind and manifests it physically and verbally! But he nails it every single time!

- And then there's Shaan's other half. Rajni, the do-gooder...whose good intentions translate into actions that somehow end up going awry, poor thing! Rajni tried to do her bit in sorting out the ego issue - logically, it should have worked, but alas, humans are complicated!

- Ridhima is the perfect contrast to Karan - I say this all the time, and I'm never going to stop, because they remind me in every scene just how fantastic they are together! Loved the Tu Hi Meri Shab Hai moment - how adorably perfect is their height difference?! She has to stand a step higher on the fountain to be level with his face!

- The scene that stole the show for me today - the very last scene. Loved loved loved the transitions in mood, very beautifully enacted by both Karan and Ridhima!

- There's something akin to uncertainty and maybe even regret in Rajni's demeanor when she asks Shaan if she's done something wrong again...Shaan steps up to reassure her that she's not at fault - machines don't make mistakes, humans do.

- "Apni kamiyon ki wajah se doosron se naraaz ho jaate." Another astute point about the complexity of human nature, which reminded me of their earlier conversation about the meaning of "khafa." Shaan's such a paradox - when it comes to explaining these things to Rajni, he often hits the nail right on the head. But when he gets overly emotional, he flies off the handle and sometimes loses sight of his objectivity. But that's human nature, I suppose. Doesn't always follow logic. Life would be so much simpler if it did...

- Shaan tells Rajni that Bauji might say angry words to her, but he still loves her...He fondly pokes her on the cheeks and hugs her...And I'm wondering...could we say the same thing about Shaan? It's far too soon to say that he is in love with her, but he does care for her and love her in many respects. And there's still lots of room for that to grow, too.

- "I'm so proud of me..." For perhaps the first time, Shaan says his catchphrase in a way that is not remotely tinged with pride. He's worried...he's stressed...He has created a problem and there's no solution in sight. I love the irony in the fact that even as Shaan says, "The worst program I ever created..." Rajni senses that Shaan is stressed out and immediately, wordlessly, tries to ease the tension in his body in the only way she knows how. Rajni, even with all her flaws, is still Shaan's companion, his confidant.

Can I just say - you're amazing!!🤗🤗 You literally recapped all the moments in this 20min long serial that I've been struck with myself and you wrote them down as beautifully as you always do😃😃 Please keep writing more! I will now proceed to plagiarise most of what you said below:

- Amrish is a man of his word. And I am so, so glad that he's trying to knock some sense into Surili's head, who STILL thinks that Rajni has caused this rift in the house. Ugh. Keep at it, Amrish!
At this point, I just ask - why. Honestly, any body with a brain can tell that Dhyaan - and more importantly, Sharmila, is at fault. But while only Amrish has the sense of mind to punish Dhyaan, Sharmila gets off scott-free? Why does Rajni get the blame when she clearly went to jail for Dhyaan's spineless behaviour. And if anything, all she tried to do was rectify the situation. How was she to know the money was stolen?!?
Surili needs to give up because it's getting on everybody's nerves now

- Meanwhile, Shaan and Dhyaan have their own issues. One is grumpy, the other seems pretty happy...Except when Amrish shows no sign of taking his decision back. This is serious...

- "Bar mein bhi yeh line hai, kya? I hope beer apni taraf padi ho, yaar!"
I died at this part. 🤣🤣
But I love how, they tackled this line issue with what they do best - comedy. In other shows, it's always what the line represents. Thankfully, at least some people had the sense to question the practicality.
Also, to add on: "Agar potty ek taraf aur basin uss taraf?"

- Dhyaan asks a good question, but Shaan is having none of it today. "Sookhi ghaas humare ghar mein aayi kahan se?" "Tujhe iss waqt yeh bother kar rahi hai ki humare ghar mein sookhi ghaas kahan se aayi, right?" *gives Dhyaan a look that shuts him up*
I was actually noding away at Dhyaan for his question - good question Dhyaan!👍🏼
Shaan was being such a bada bhai here😆😆
Also, when Rajni comes in, she calls out to Shaan and he watches her sashay in with those bricks on her head, swinging her hips from side to side...bets on how much you think he enjoyed it?😉😉

I always wonder how an onlooker would judge some of their actions. It made full sense that Dhyaan thought these two were having some couple time to themselves😆😆 I shall remember to use this method on my own pati next time to calm him down!👏

I think Rajni's spontaneity shocks Shaan just as much as it shocks us! I think Karan was genuinely enjoying that scene😆

I actually have to ask how much space these two are given to carry out certain scenes - their chemistry is just marvellous! They NEVER make it seem awkward at all - be it the way Shaan physically interacts with Rajni, how he behaves with her or how easily he lets things go from her. It's so so refreshing and rare to see a couple that actually behaves like normal people, instead of gasping at every brush of the hand or having to stand up straight for every single scene lol

It's such an enormous upgrade from having to hear Cupcake and Muffin every other scene😆😆

I think of the best smallest thing about their situation, is how when Rajni delivers a line Shaan used previously, she includes his mannerisms as well - but with a touch of her own robotness. The exaggerated way she made the hand gesture, but still trying to copy him - too cute!

I am prepared to see this theme being extended to as far as they want to take - maybe next we'll see her roaming in a sari made out of leaves or watching her set a fire indoors for heat🤣

Thanks for letting me extend your post to twice its length!🤗

Thank you so, so much for the incredibly kind words, Tavita! 😳 I'm glad you liked my rambling - you're too sweet! 🤗 I'm not quite sure how to format this reply...I suspect it might get kind of long...I don't know if you happened to see my retrospective review that I posted after the 50th episode, but I can assure you I will keep writing as long as Shaan-Rajni's relationship continues to develop as it has been so far! ❤️

As expected, my reply ran away from me and became super long...But I enjoy reading your thoughts immensely, so this was bound to happen! 😆 I really, really appreciate the time you've put into reading and replying here! Thank you again! 🤗
