There are many who would say that your personality is what most defines you. But what about if you have lots of them? Which one would you most identify as? Would any of the personalities dislike the others? Would you tell your friends about your struggles, or would you keep it to yourself?

Multiple Personality Day was created to highlight its namesake disorder, and raise awareness of its affect on the day to day life of those who suffer from it. And this goes deeper that just being a bit moody now and again, and being your normal self later - this is about having totally different, clearly apparent personalities which have their own identities and own ways of interacting with their environment.

The History of Multiple Personality Day

Exactly when this day started appearing in the calendar is unknown - however, the reasons behind it are very clear. Multiple personality disorder is also known as dissociative identity disorder, a medical condition which through the years has been brought more and more prominently into the medical field.

To be diagnosed with dissociate identity disorder, you'd need to be displaying at least two different personalities, any of which can take control' of you at any given time. It is not uncommon for, when one personality takes over, for another to entirely forget what you were up to when the first one was active. It's no wonder that such a condition is very difficult for sufferers to cope with.

It's incredible to try and understand, but while some sufferers have two or three personalities, others can have ten, twenty, thirty personalities. Some people with the disorder reportedly have upwards of 90 personalities, with one often being dominant while switching between the others at least a few times a day.

How to Observe Multiple Personality Day

Show your support by bringing the disorder into conversation, raise awareness at work and amongst your friends. Or, you could take the time out to check out the fascinating history of multiple personality disorder, including all the incredible people who have suffered from it past and present.

Perhaps today you could also think about your own personality, and how it might be like to live with the trials and tribulations of having more than one.

As always, make sure you use the hashtag on social media of #multiplepersonalityday to get the word out there and keep the conversation alive about this rare but important mental illness.'

There are many of us who bear names that come from another, a name that was selected, not by coincidence, but with intent to carry on the honor of that lineage into our own life. There are many a John in the world, but even if you're one of them you may stand apart from the thousands of others by who you were named after. Are you named after your father John? Or perhaps your parents were true patriots and named you after John Quincy Adams. Namesake Day beseeches you to find out, and celebrate the heritage you carry in your name.

History of Namesake Day

The world has a long tradition of naming people after other people, most often our parents or grandparents, but sometimes aunts and uncles, or even just famous people for whom your parents hold in high regard. But people aren't the only ones who have namesakes! Not at all! The Trump Tower was named for both the company that built it and the man who runs the company (and became president in 2016, incidentally).

The Ford Motor Company was named after its creator Henry Ford, making the company his namesake. This particular type of namesake is an eponymous namesake, where the term eponymous means either a person giving their name to something, or a thing named after a particular person. But then one can also name animals after things, consider for instance that the famous St. Bernard Beethoven from the movie of the same name was named for the composer.

Vehicles of all sorts are often the Namesakes of someone or something else, like the USS Washington, or the USS Gerald R. Ford, named for presidents of the United States. This isn't isolated to that country either, the HTMS Chakri Naruebet of the Royal Thai Navy is named for the Chakri Dynasty. Namesakes are everywhere, and Namesake Day encourages you to research the history of your name to find if you are someone's namesake!

How to celebrate Namesake Day

The best way to celebrate Namesake Day is to contact your parents and see if they'll tell you who you're named after. If the person is alive and well, perhaps you can take them out for a special dinner, or just spend the day hanging out with them. It's always good to know your roots and where you come from, and your namesake is part of that heritage.

You might think you don't know what a cheese doodle is, but you have almost certainly seen them around. A cheese doodle is a rather colloquial way of calling those baked cheesy snacks that are sure to leave your fingers bright orange. Sold as crisps, for a bit of cheesiness to your lunch you can't go far wrong than picking up a packet of these tasty morsels. Just try not to eat too many!

All great foods deserve a day of observance - so of course, this classic and popular snack has March 5th to celebrate it in all its cheesy, savory goodness.

The History of Cheese Doodle Day

The inventor of cheese doodles is not entirely clear - the date when exactly they first appeared isn't easy to find. Usually, food historians will attribute the bite-size treat to one of two inventors; either one Edward Wilson and/or Clarence J. Schwebke, who worked at the Flakall Corporation in Wisconsin around the 1930s. This company actually specialized in making flaky pet food, but created what was called Korn Kurls' as a (for humans) snack and applied for a patent in 1939. The snack was commercialized in 1946 by another company, the Adams Corporation.

The second most commonly cited inventor is Elmer Candy of New Orleans, Louisiana, around 1936. Today, Elmer's Fine Foods still sells cheese doodles under the name CheeWees'.

Cheese doodles are also known as cheese puffs, cheese curls, cheese balls, cheese poofs, cheesy poofs or sometimes corn cheese. They are made by a mixture of hot corn through a shaper and then dusted with that distinctive cheese flavoring. Without cheese, it's often referred to as puffcorn; different flavorings available include honey and salt, but the most popular type worldwide has to be these cheese flavored versions.

Available in all sorts of shapes and sizes, pounds and pounds of this tasty and easy go-to snack are made every year and shipped across the word the hungry snack lovers everywhere.
