July 28th: Feathery flights of fancy

Is there anything Meera has NOT done a 6 month course in?😆 So far on the list we have: baking, interior decoration, photography and today the latest...music as well...she's a walking talking "expert" on all manners of activities😆

But thanks to this constant activity hopping, today she had some musical gyaan to dispense to Abhi. While she identifies that the melody he was playing is coming from a place of deep sadness within him, her own musical funda is more free spirited, soaring...she believes that music should uplift...and as usual that gave Abhi some pause for thought.

I have to repeat again that I love this near constant befuddled expression on Abhi's face as Meera prattles on non stop...like she has this knack of making him look beyond the daily burdens that he feels weighed down by..the ability to uplift.

Which ofcourse then brings me to the best scene of the episode today...the Abhi-Meera scene as Meera catches sight of a floating feather and is instantly enchanted by it...ultimately managing to draw Abhi into that enchantment as well. There's a moment in there where she bats away Abhi's hand as he tries to catch the feather...telling him to let the feather chart it's own journey...then seconds later she herself is blowing at the feather, tossing it around in the air😆...and then proceeds to cajole Abhi to join her. Such a sweet and simple scene...again kudos to the writing team for bringing about refreshing interactions b/w Abhi-Meera and not resorting to cliched romance.

I suspect Meera suffers from some form of ADD for sure😆...but in this case, it helped to relax Abhi for those few moments and just join in that silly, childish game of blowing the feather around...and somehow it helped them bond yet again...as Meera rounds up the conversation with letting him know that's his genuine smile...and just like that Abhi is smitten all over again😆...he really does have a sweet smile...should exercise it more often.

I also adore how happy Rohan gets seeing Abhi-Meera together or more specifically seeing his big brother happy...

The rest of the family scenes felt a bit filler types...but I liked Meera's interactions with that makeup obsessed cousin.

Precap seems to indicate that a) either that facepack is gonna mess up Meera's face or b) she's gonna skip the appointment with Aman to spend time with Rohan instead.

She failed 2 attempts, what do you expect from her? She tried everything but AY, i am falling in love with this girl..she is madcap, all over the place..reminds me of someone that you probably know..you know wise, happy and so sane.😆
This girl is such a bundle of happiness, love and just so much "feel good". I am so amused by her. She does suffer from ADD and has tonnes of issues too, sometimes when she says something it hits you . This maturity has to have some base. But this kid is so happy. I feel Rohan and she are going to be super buddies. They both have very different and interesting and probably the right way of viewing things. Do you think, AY, we can be this hopeful, happy at that moment- probably for our generation or today's world this seems so strange.

I love the dadima and Mom scenes- both of them get everything and yet confined in their roles and inabilities. A mother who be abandoned by 2 sons and 1 who cannot do anything for her son .

I find the family a bit annoying abhi..they need Meera ka tadka. You know I wonder how they will react to her after the shaadi- no money power or something. Strange na? Or rather how will Meera adapt then,

i like Abhi's role- this smile was built from 2-3 episodes now. He is so insecure and lives under his dad's shadows and jut saddened that he cannot make his mom happy. Then comes Meera , a contrast, a flying feather and brings him that smile and content. I love how Rohan ships them .

I am just too amused and happy by this show.

Anu 🤗 Have been MIA for so so so long. Finally found a sweet desi show to fill in my void of GoT and The Flash. How have you been?

Anyhow, I happen to come across this show last week while spending some time on youtube watching San Diego Comic Con videos. lol I know random much!
Reminds me of initial days of NBT...that similar sort of slice of life genre. When you watch the show at the end of a tiresome day, it actually manages to bring a GENUINE smile on your face. Actually, I should rephrase it ... the character of Meera manages to uplift the mood and bring a genuine smile on our face like she does on Abhishek's face. How stinking adorable is she?!! The actress is doing a good job portraying her. She's got a sort of restraint in her character's portrayal such that if she had overdone the "cheeriness" even a tad bit, it would have been really off putting. Even the actor playing Abhishek is doing a good job. The ensemble seems to be well cast and the writing is quite subtle yet hard hitting. The method of conveying the deepest messages via the simplest mannerisms seems refreshing. That little feather scene from today seems so random but deemed quite substantial in that Abhishek notices...ummm scratch that...FEELS that "genuine" smile on his face. I like how they had Rohan witness his bade bhaiya's smile/ happiness rather than the cliched route of his mother being the one. Rohan happens to be one of the standout supportive characters of all characters. His equation with Abhishek is more of a parent-child one while he seems to share more of a "friendly" equation with Meera. Despite being autistic and child-like, Rohan seems the most sane one out of all the characters of this Pant household.

@precap-- yeah she will probably have a reaction to that face pack and didn't Abhishek mention the other day that it was Rohan's birthday? So, she might end up staying back and being a part of Rohan's little celebration.

P.S. I absolutely love the little background tune that they keep playing whenever Meera's up to her antics...like the one playing during that feather scene. Such a sweet and uplifting tune, isn't it?

Btw, how many siblings Abhi has ? 2 or 3 . They have a sister too , right?

@Nymeria- Word about the tune. It just pulls you in, rather Meera's take about things. She says all those idealistic things in such a simple way and this doesn't even sound like your cliched lectures but just honest earnest conversations. She literally got that smile out of Abhi and he felt visibly relaxed , just like we do after watching her.

I adore Rohan and the actor playing him is doing a hella good job at it.

@Bold--- Word! That is the reason it seems oddly refreshing! To have a female character on a desi show who doesn't go about lecturing things regarding morality but rather expresses her views in a simple and natural way. Meera doesn't go about chanting philosophies, instead she lives it herself in her own weird ways. The things she talks about might have an underlying deeper, philosophical meaning but the way she (the character) conveys it, is uniquely fresh. it probes you to think about it in your own way rather than being TOLD to do so in the usual way.

Oh and I think Abhishek has 2 siblings...Rohan and that hockey playing sister. I think those two are his siblings and the rest are his cousins.

@Anu--- lol happen to binge watch the show this past weekend and log on here after a LONG time to find such a familiar "Things I liked" posts. It made me reminisce NBT days. As soon as I saw the show, I thought about dragging you in the bandwagon but when I logged on, I found out that you were already watching it lol!

Arey 2 attempts were for OVERALL graduation...these 6 month courses seem like random ad-hoc things she tried as whimsy struck her.

Do you think, AY, we can be this hopeful, happy at that moment- probably for our generation or today's world this seems so strange. We can be whoever we choose to be :) Yes, circumstances will make it harder or easier respectively but that CHOICE comes from within...the choice to hope, to strive to be happy.

I love the dadima and Mom scenes- both of them get everything and yet confined in their roles and inabilities. A mother who be abandoned by 2 sons and 1 who cannot do anything for her son I loved that scene too...although I wish the mother wasn't constantly crying but I feel for her plight...her lamenting over how she can't do anything for her son...the actress is doing a fine job...Amma is one strong lady for sure.

I find the family a bit annoying abhi..they need Meera ka tadka. You know I wonder how they will react to her after the shaadi- no money power or something. Strange na? Or rather how will Meera adapt then, The greedy ways of the family annoy me but yeah Meera will deffo seedha karo them...I didn't particularly like how despo they were acting to get tips from Meera today.

I'm never the one that needs to be dragged anywhere...y'all are the ones who gaayabofy and choose to not say anything😆

I've been watching this since day one and instantly took a liking to it...forum has been largely dead with not much discussion at all...the show isn't quite NBT but charming nevertheless :)

I rarely miss your essays. 🥱

@Nymeria- I know right..so refreshing. She makes you stop and think. Puts you this puzzle of life and living , questions your own rationality. Because practically and otherwise, we are raised to be like her sister or say Abhi, or even those selfish cousins/family members..this one is rare where self-love is so self-less.
