Priya Ji, I am sorry. I hope aap yeh Café aane se pehle dekhle. Aap Agar aaj Café aayengi toh sab kuch ulta pad jaayega. Mere paas zyaada time toh nahi hai samjhane ka, lekin main ye is liye likh rahi hoon taaki aapko sach pata ho.
Aaj Café main mere paas jhooth bolne ke sivaaye koi option nahi hai. Main yeh aapki friend twinkle ko de rahi hoon aap tak pahunchaane ke liye. Iss sab ke peeche Shubham aur Vedika hai. Aaj main jo bhi kahun gi wo sab Vedika ne mujhe kaha hai kehne ko. Usne mujhe jaan se maarne ki dhamki di hai. Main innhe nahi jaanti lekin wo meri behen tak pahunch gaye hai. She’s in danger. Agar main aaj Café mein jhooth nahi bolungi toh wo uske saath na Janne kya kya karenge.
I hope ye aap tak pahunch jaaye aur aap apne husband ko aaj Café na laaye.
I am sorry Priya Ji, aapne mujhe itni help ki aur main ab aapko hi itne trouble mein daalne waali hoon.
Ram let out a frustrated sigh as he read the letter that was addressed to his wife. He had no clue where she was. When he had returned Tarun had asked for her saying that he needed to hand her an urgent note left by her friend. Gauging it could be something important Ram had taken it and had a peek but ended up reading it realizing it was from Aditi.
That woman was lying. Why would Shubham do all of this?. He had other tensions on his mind. Shivi was inconsolable. But worse of all was that he had screwed up before Meera Maa by calling her aunty. In less than one minute he had undone everything, he had insulted their relationship and everything she had done for him. How could he hurt her motherly feeling? How foolish of him to direct his anger as bitterness towards her.
No one had loved him like she loved him. She loved everyone. All kids were the same for her . But he knew, he was just as special to her as her own daughters. If this letter was right, and saying the truth then he had made a huge mistake. How would he face Priya?
His thought went back to Priya’s words. “Mr. Kapoor, issne mujhse pehle kuch aur kaha thaa.”
Restless he began racing his mind. The whole Sood Parivaar was trying to explain to him that Aditi was lying. Priya had put his own father behind the bars when she got to know that he was guilty. She would have done the same with Akshay if necessary. He remembered the entire hotel room scenario. Vedika and Shubham were their too. Just like how Shubham was at the Café too. Vedika… why was she doing this? Was she just trying to prove her point that Akki wasn’t good for Shivi. Maybe she convinced Shubham too.
After thinking and rethinking he got up. He needed to talk to Vedika. Hear what she had to say. He had barely turned when Priya entered the room. Their gazes met.
She silently moved away. Her eyes held pain.
“Priya,”
“Mr Kapoor, mujhe kuch baat nahi karni. Main thak gayi hoon.”
He watched her as she went about the room without a word. She then entered the washroom. She was crying he could tell as soon as he heard the faucet go on. Priya would never waste water like that.
It hurt him that she didn’t express her pain before him as she usually did. She was hiding her pain and tears. From him. The wall that he was trying to get down was once again rising up.
He looked at the letter in his hand. He had to find the truth. But he couldn’t get himself to move. Not until Priya came out. He sat their hearing the noise of the running water. His heart pained. He knew he had hurt her. With tears in his eyes he sat there. She’d probably never understand why he had to choose his half of the family over her half. It was his duty to protect Shivi and Shubu even of that meant ruining his own happiness.
As soon as he heard the water go off, he looked up. She stepped out not bothering to even look at him. He sighed. He had hurt her so badly today.
He walked out of the room, safely putting the letter in his pocket. He had to find Aditi’s sister, confront Vedika and get to the bottom of it all.
Ram sat in the dark guest room. It was three am in the dead of the night. He had found out about Aditi’s sister from the Producer. He had tried to reach her but she was unreachable. He had explained the situation to Adi and Brinda. Brinda was disappointed and hadn’t said anything except that he didn’t trust Priya as much as she trusted him. To worsen things Brinda had yelled and told him that Vedika had purposely made it look like she arranged the party, and she was the one who had played that video from college days. Brinda had even shouted over the phone call telling him that he still was into Bedika which is why he couldn’t see that ever since Vedika had come to live at their place, problems and misunderstandings were hitting one after the other.
He had called Sashi to ask about Vedika’s whereabouts only to learn from him that Vedika was suing him for domestic abuse and wanted compensation along with divorce. He was almost begging him to explain to Vedika that he was not interested in her anymore.
Had this been few months back, maybe, just Mayne, Ram would be a little happy for himself. But now, he was married to Priya and didn’t want it any other way. But he had screwed up. He wouldn’t be surprised if Priya handed him.the divorce papers the following morning. He hurt Meera Maa, that was unacceptable.
He heard footsteps and rushed out. Was it Priya looking for him? He was disappointed to find Vedika instead.
“Ram, are you okay?” She asked worried. I heard from Shubham about what happened at the Café.
“Yeah, where were you? I was looking for you.”
She placed her hands on his shoulder. “I was at a friend’s place. Gosh, look at you. Chalo, sojaao thodi Der.” She said ushering him inside the room.
Ram played dumb. He laid while she sat beside him. He soon pretended to be asleep. After some time he heard her mobile vibrate. He could make our that she got up from bed and moved to the balcony.
“Hello,” she said and then after a pause. “No keep her in that old house. We cannot let her go. If we want Aditi to be in our control we need to keep her sister. It’s only a matter of few days, I can see Ram throwing Priya out of the house soon, just like in the blink of an eye he bought Shivi back here. You’ll receive your payment. Just do as I say.”
Ram hurried back to bed after listening to that. It meant Priya was right, and yet again he hadn’t trusted her.
*
Ram looked at Priya as she slept peacefully. Probably couldn’t sleep easily last night. He gave her a long look before stepping out to check on Shivi. He was now two steps ahead of Vedika. He had been able to track down the number from which Vedika had got the call last night with the help of a few friends. Aditi’s sister shikha was at Adi’s place, safe and sound. He had contacted Aditi to let her know her sister was safe and sound with him.
He shook Priya waking her up.
“I need you to come with me, it’s urgent,” He said as soon as she looked at him.
She woke up with a shock. “are you okay Mr Kapoor?” She asked looking at him.
“I am fine Priya.” He said. “I need you to come somewhere with me, it’s very very important and I don’t want to do it without you.”
She nodded and got up.
After twenty five minutes they were at Adi's place. Priya had no clue why. But the solemn face of Mr Kapoor had convinced her that it was really important. She was surprised to see Aditi and another girl there.
As soon as Aditi noticed her she came forward thanking her for saving her ssister.she looked confused.
“Aditi what’s the truth?” Ram spoke up, his voice Gabe away how tired he was. “No one is forcing you or blackmailing you. Please tell the truth. Because your answer decides the fate of a marriage. “
Priya looked at him stunned. He waa going to let Aditi’ answer decide the fate of their relationship?
“Shivi loved Akshay. If you’re going to lie about Akshay it can impact my sister’s marriage.”
“I am sorry Mr. Kapoor. I told the truth to your wife.” She explained how she had come to the outhouse and over heard two men. Later how she had met Priya and told her the same and Priya had arranged for her stay at Twinkle's place. Finally, how Vedika had reached her and blackmailed her into lying.
Ram let out a sigh. “will this answer change if I bring Vedika, Akshay or Shubham here?”
“No,” Aditi almost cried. “Akshay is a really nice guy. He literally thought I was in trouble and offered to help me out. I am sorry, I was very scared. It’s just me and my sister. We don’t have anyone else.”
“There you go, Mr Kapoor, you got a character certificate for my brother, duly stamped and verified.” Saying that Priya walked out.
Ram followed her out.
“Priya listen to me,” He said reaching her, holding her hand.
“No, Mr Kapoor,” Priya snapped. “No matter what, my family will always have to give explanation, character certificates and repeated convincing. You said you trusted me. You know I don’t lie. Main keh rahi thi naa, ki Aditi ne mujhko kuch aur bataaya. Magazine aapne nahi suna. And I knew it ki aap nahi maanege meri baat. Isliye main aapko kal Café le aayi taaki aap khud sunle uski baat. Kyunk main Agar kehthi ki Vedika aur Shubham Akki aur Shivi ki shaadi todna chathe hain toh aap meri baat nahi maante . Kyunki wo rishtey aap ke liye bahut important hai.”
Troubled she walked away.
“Priya, I am sorry. Meri baat toh suno,” He spoke following her.
“Mr Kapoor,” she turned. “Mujhe iss baat se shaayad itna bura nahi laga ki aap meri baat ko sach nahi maan sakte. Lekin kal aapne jaise Maa ka dil dhukaya hai naa, uske liye main aapko kabhi maaf nahi karungi. Aap sab mark hote hi aise hain. Jab chaaya kisi ko apna liya, jab chaya usse paraaya kar diya. Phir chaaye wo beti ho, Maa ho yaan biwi.”
“I know Priya and I am really sorry. Main gusse mein thaa. Shivi ke liye worried thaa. Pata nahi kaise mooh se…”
Priya looked at him with a blank expression. “You owe me nothing Mr Kapoor. Kuch nahi chaiye.”
Ram sighed letting her walk away. He looked down as tears filled his eyes. It hadn’t hurt so much when anybody had left. He looked up to see her walk away. It was a matter of seconds and his eyes widened as a speeding car hit Priya.
A loud scream, escaped his mouth as he ran behind her, “Priya!”
