I know its not common to not like the lead character but I dont like Priya. She has been portrayed very sadist. I dont like her unnecessary taunts specifically to Ram. Like why does she have to take every thing negativity and taunt?

she needs a big improvement in her character. Too much of negativity.

Priya is definitely not a sadist, she doen’t get Joy from hurting others. On the other hand, Neeraj, Vedika, Nandini are sadists. They are the planners who find enjoyment in hurting others and benefit from it.

Priya Was very bitter due to her past experiences. May be she still is, since she cannot trust people easily. But she is definitely turning softer and smiles more than before.

Hopefully Ram will make her more like him…

We see improvement in her character…until Vedika entered the Kapoor Mansion..

Even then Ram N Priya have some great positive moments.

For Priya to smile and be positive with Vedika in the house is showing she is trusting Ram and becoming more positive..

I completely agree with you @ajacob31

She has just become a little cynical with everything she had to go through because she didn't have a privileged life. So she doesn't take things for granted and when she sees people who doesn't value basic things in life she just couldn't related as all that hits her too close to home and she gets negative. She have strong opinions which some people are not used to in our patriarchic society. Her character was planned that way to target exactly these kind of women who are living among us but has never really got an representation on ITV. In the past ITV has been so obsessed with victimizing women that seeing a women who doesn't bend her morals for other's fragile heart is not everyone's cup of tea.

I don't want to offend anyone but I think that people just need to approach new characters with an open mind and heart not everyone is same and not everyone is perfect.

Long gone are the days when ITV used to show superficial FL because I want to see more characters like Priya. I relate to her so much because not everyone moves around with their heart on their sleeves. Some people are guarded and that's the reality of life. We always cannot have bubbly FL who make everything illogical and happy and still at the end of everyday is the most unhappy sap in the house.

Atleast priya knows her reality and isn't afraid of it.

Also Priya smiles a lot more these days esp when Ram is around. You are after all a sum total of your life’s experiences. Priya has had bitter experiences in the past which have made her bitter. She also has a loving family but they are all a little too seedha. So she had to harden herself to protect them and herself too. Now she has Ram who is also very caring and loving towards her. Definitely a more pleasant experience compared to the bitter previous ones. Ram doesn’t need her protection as such like with her family. So she has melted a bit with him and is more relaxed in his presence. She has learnt to trust him a little too. Ram has impacted her life positively. She will evolve for the better as a person because of it. This is character growth which is true for each one of us.

Totally agree with this post!

I think people have gotten used to seeing the bechari, mahaan, khudko tyaag karne waali FLs who never stand up for themselves and never know how to give it back. Thats why Priya isn't sitting well with everyone. But truth is, women like Priya are actually the most common type of people we actually get to see around us. Heck, even I am so much like Priya! Like.. I am also quite cynical and sometimes negative because my life isn't smooth either. So I totally relate to her in so many ways .

Its time for us to get more "real" , flawed FLs like Priya Sood on ITV. I for one, just adore her. And yes, she will and is having a character growth in the show, slowly and steadily. She is learning to open up more, smile more, trust more by staying with the amazing person that Ram is. This character journey is going to be thoroughly enjoyable IMO and quite a revolution on ITV too coz we rarely ever see anything other than superficial, perfect bahus on TV who do nothing wrong and thus are too one dimensional and have zero character growth!

The notion is that all would always keep smiling, despite pain. And specially a TV lead. But Priya is Priya and it's because of her life. She will slowly cone out of it once her life becomes better and hopes and desires cone to her. Already she is smiling more. I didn't see any taunts on Ram recently though!

I do agree with you guys above mahaan bechari saree pe saree bahu is being missed. But there are other shows for that! Priya & Deepika are only ITV leads I can stand presently!

I actually love this Priya the way she thinks the way she dresses the way she is. And if there is a difference I want to see the arc I want to see the necessity. I don't want her to be another TV Bahu!

I join everyone who loves and understands Priya.

I became attached to her with all my heart. She is a lively, real, strong woman with a gentle soul. No wonder Mom and Ram call her coconut.

Life is such that Priya was forced to gnaw on the ground in order to exist firmly, with dignity, taking care of herself and her family.

With a disgusting dog instead of a father and a mountain of problems associated with the prejudices of society, she has grown into a woman with whom to follow an example. She is in pain, but she does not break, she is cynical and sarcastic, but only where it does not hurt the soul. With Ram she smiles and learns to trust. She is just like me, and many real women who have not only a big heart, but also a mind and an experience full of crap. It is good that she is, she reminds us what principles, dignity and a kind heart are associated with a strong character.
