exactly! I really didn't understand priya's motivation on wanting her dad there. this man cursed you and said you will never get married. made fun of you when you got rejected on rishtas. so why does she want him there? why is she okay with him doing the rituals when she keeps complaining that he didn't provide for the family? it feels reallly flaky.

in real life, I know someone who was raised by her grandparents after the divorce. her father wanted to do the rituals and she told "NO" as he didn't raise her and argued about giving even little bit of money for education. the dad showed up as a guest and sat in the back along with everyone else. that was it. her grandfather did everything.

so yea, I really don't understand how priya is written at all.....

This is weak writing. This is opposite to what Priya's character has been shown till now. A person with as much dignity as her would never have allowed that.. atleast that's what her character sketch was.

I am seriously pissed with the pathetic writing we got in this entire two weeks wedding track. 👎🏼

I am so with you on Meera being the most irritating positive character in this show! It gets me on my nerves when she says baccha am sorry and I failed u as a mother. She is just too weak and whiny and always crying at the drop of a hat..that I just can't warm up to her. Also her expressions are always too OTT.. in the scenes she has with Ram, I find her facial expressions cringey..😵 (again it's only me maybe 😆) Its bad character writing + weak acting that is making me dislike this character 🥱

unfortunately I do; I actually find all the other side characters amusing. I really enjoy adi and vrinda and wish ram and priya would have such a dynamic -- cute and amusing. I find baby face kunal and gillette shaving ad model mukul? or whatever his name also kind of funny. sandy can be hilarious. even sara and the other sister (who is married to neeraj) isn't annoying. even meera for all her dramatics where she looks like she is an old bharatnatyam dancer who hasn't stopped dancing with her expressions is fine -- I might disagree with the character's reasoning but the actress seems to understand the role and the writing does not waver. even neeraj is doing what he is supposed to be doing as per his character sketch.

now, priya. I don't like saying this but I am somewhere between like and dislike on this character. it feels very surface level with her when it comes to all her problems. like I am supposed to sympathize with her and therefore tolerate her stupidity. why? like I mentioned in my other post yesterday, unfortunately she reminds me of nightmare people who used to go off on rants for no reason. to say working with them was incredibly stressful is an understatement.

I find her character extremely poortly written and she seems threatening rather than amusing. so let me explain why. with bickering relationships, you need equality. here ram hasn't done anything yet to tick her off but she is constantly going 100 on him.

long ago, I watched this show where there is this argument. the girl apologizes and explains that basically her father was bad blah blah. the guy then said something that I still remember -- he was like "you can't punish me for something someone has done long ago in your past. how is that fair?" and I remember reading the reaction comments and everyone is like "exactly!"

we have something similar here. she is basically punishing ram and everyone else around her for mahendra sood. even her family can't have a mature conversation with her because she is yelling at them instead of talking to them. there is a huge difference between talking at someone and talking to someone. they need to write priya so she is more sane.

I understand her being bitter with her father and her ex- and evn her sia who married her ex! But she is bitter towards the whole world! That's not justified and I do find that irritating! And there is double standards even there: she is bitter towards her dad and she wants him to do her kanyadaan!! I don't know but somehow dont like how her character has been shaped so far - too much! I hope it will improve and I will start liking her bcoz I wanted to watch the show! I like the pairing...

like you said, people who are bitter with the whole world is aggravating not to mention super stressful. they make bad relationship partners. you can argue that she has a right to because of her background but by that token, every house has problems and everyone has some issue or the other. how is it right that we take it out on unrelated people? there is nothing wrong with being kind and civil -- it doesn't make you a doormat to keep social etiquette. you can still be assertive, put people in their place when needed and also be very polite. it isn't a one or the other.

I really love watching bickering couples because of the word zingers. they always crack me up. in this case, she doesn't even give ram a chance to say anything before she starts pouncing on him. so it doesn't come across as funny but in a way, just mean. I keep feeling sorry for ram which is not how I am supposed to see the pairing.

as for her dad doing the rituals, it made zero sense. why not ask her uncle who has stood by the family through all their troubles, gave them a house and supported them? isn't he the true 'father' of these girls? if that would have happened, I would have been so touched by that family scene. instead, I was shaking my head that she rants and raves at the man and yet, says nothing that he is doing the rituals...

I really liked the original show which is why I am still watching. I do hope they write her better so that she stops coming across so ill-tempered.

I know he is a good friend and all but I don't know if its just me but I find him irritating a lot of times.

Ram's other male friends Kunal and Vicky seems nice to me but it's just with Adi...I don't know but I get irritated with him at times

I think it’s more to do with Adi being obsessed with Ram and his happiness even more than his own wife🤣🤣 For me, he’s surely a gem of a person. He’s always around him, caring for him and thinking the best for him as he knows no one in his family will do so.

Plus, he seems totally disinterested in getting Ram married to Priya solely coz she too blunt in her ways and their marriage is a compromise for their respective “assumed” siblings. But I think it will slowly be explored in the show when very starts being Ram’s sole shield and pillar of strength and love for him. Sadly, Brinda realises that and even make efforts to bring them closer, now with help of Sara, but not Adi or his friends.😔😢

Hands down it has to be Meera, Priya's mother I mean..The way she keeps crying and pleading and added to it the way she still keeps her expectations on Manendra, I find her extremely irritating.. And I also find it irritating that she always tries to stop Priya, when Priya is showing the mirror to Mahendra or Nandini/ Shubam..

Well I completely agree with these two points.

I guess this is why I do find him irritating at times

Hope to see much more character growth and bond later in the show
