5. Decision
Ram was back from office and was thinking how to speak to Priya. She was not giving him any chance to speak, she was not ready to listen anything. She was taking revenge in a sweet manner.
"Kahan khoye huye ho papa", Pihu sits beside him.
"Nothing important", Ram smiled.
"Mom aapse baat nahi kar rahi hai, aapko ignore kar rahi hai", Pihu looks at him. Ram nods his head.
"Toh mana lo na unhe", Pihu whispers sensing Priya's presence in the room..
"Koi naraz ho toh unhe manaya jaata hai...jo naraz hone ka natak kare usey kaise manao", Ram whispers.
"Aap dono itna jhagda kyu karte ho", Pihu speaks loudly grasping Priya's attention.
"Mai jhagda karta hoon", Ram asks in surprise, "tujhe pata hai Pihu k jhagda hamesha Priya karti hai"
"Haww Mr Kapoor jhoot kyu bol rahe hai aap? Aap kaam hi aise karte hai", Priya defends herself.
"Pata hai Pihu jab hum pehli bar mile toh kya hua tha", Ram questions her. Pihu nods her head in no.
"Mai batati hoon...Mr Kapoor ne jhagda kiya tha wo bhi meri society mai aakar", Priya reveals.
"Papa pehli mulakat mai hi jhagda? Oh toh aap dono ki love story jhagde se start huyi", Pari asks dreamily while entering wid Myra.
"Koi love story nhi thi...teri ma ko galat fehmi hogayi thi", Ram clears.
"Mujhe galat fehmi huyi thi! Common Mr Kapoor don't lie", Priya folds her hands.
"Okay...hum dono ko huyi thi galat fehmi", Ram corrects himself
"Kya galat fehmi", Myra asks curiously. Ram and Priya tries to divert the topic but their daughters were adamant on knowing the first meeting. Kush too joined them.
Accepting the defeat, Ram narrates them about his first encounter with his wife Priya. Pihu and Myra were laughing hard hearing the craziest side of her parents and Pari was lost in her dream land. Ram and Priya too travelled back in time.
"Pata hai Pihu Mr Kapoor paani bhi check karke peete the jaise unhe germs nazar aate ho", Priya laughs.
"Yeh galat fehmi solve kaise huyi", Pihu was interested in knowing more.
"Wo Vikram ne solve kiya", Ram smiles.
"Jab aap dono itna jhagda karte the toh shadi ke liye kaise maane", Myra questioned.
"It was arrange compromise marriage...hai na dad", Kush asks.
"Tujhe kaise pata", Pihu questions, "dad ne bataya tha bht pehle", Kush proudly says to irk Pihu.
"Dad aap mom ko romantic date pe lekar gaye the", Pari asked. They were debating on this question: Myra was of view that they never have been on date but Pari and Pihu were sure that Ram did take Priya on date. Priya ended the debate by answering, "haan bhi na bhi"
"Yeh kaisa jawab huya Priya Angel", Kush was confused like others.
"Wo aise Kush tere dad date pe leke gaye the but wahan ja kar mujhe akela chod diya aur khud cricket match dekhne bar chale gaye", Priya looked how embarrass Ram was feeling.
"Dad Date pe cricket match?", Pari was disappointed, "aap kaise kar sakte ho aisa"
"Aap log Honeymoon ke liya kahan gaye the", Myra asked excitedly shocking Ram and Priya out of their wits. Everyone was staring her, "kahan gaye the pucha aur kuch nhi", She clarifies herself.
"Australia", Ram answered to earn a glare from Priya. She was afraid of the next set of questions imagining worst so she decided to divert the topic, "its so late...now go and sleep"
Ram told Priya to let them be here. Priya whispered to Ram that if they ask any embarrassing questions he will have to answer and Ram agreed. Ram narrated them the whole Australia trip how Priya was lost and scared, about shopping mall and all. They had a good family time reminiscing good old days and slowly one after the other each fell asleep in the position they were sitting.
In the morning, Priya stretched her hands after waking up and that resulted in a push to Ram who was sleeping at corner of bed.
"Ouch Priya...maar kyu rahi ho", Ram caressed his head.
"Sorry Mr Kapoor", Priya whispered.
"Yeh sab yahin pe sogaye?", Ram questioned pointing towards his kids.
"Haan pata nhi baaatein karte karte kab sogaye", Priya was struggling to get up but was unable to do so. Myra was sleeping on her legs, Pihu and Pari were holding her tight from either sides. She looked at Ram for help and he laughed at her condition.
"Mr Kapoor", Priya was annoyed, "will you help me?".
Ram stopped his laughing session and helped Priya by slowly moving his kids aside.
"Thank you", Priya thanked him and stretched her hands casually and Ram took the opportunity to embrace her.
"Mr Kapoor, kya kar rahe hai aap", Priya struggled to come out of his grip.
"Kuch bhi toh nhi", Ram replied still hugging her, "why you always have to go away from me?", Ram questioned her seeing her struggle.
"Well Mr Kapoor if you remember clearly hamare bacche yahin hai abhi and I dont want any embarrassment", Priya reminded him.
Ram immediately left her making Priya giggle at him. "Office ke liye der rahi horahi hai isiliye...", Ram starts explaining. Priya noded her head indicating she understood.
Ram, who was going for bath, comes back and mimes"Sorry". Priya smiled, "kisliye"
"Tumhe pareshan kiya na do din, tumhe ignore kiya, tumse baat nhi ki", Ram holds his ears.
"Its ok Mr Kapoor...maaf kiya", Priya removes his hand from his ears.
"Thank you", Ram briefly hugs her. "Ab thanks kis liye", Priya questions him.
"Tumne Pihu ko itne acche se handle kiya, you made her realise truth...kaise kar leti ho yeh sab", Ram expressed his amusement.
"Pata nhi but I am glad k Pihu is trying to overcome her heartbreak...wo abhi poori tarha se thik nahi hai, we have to be careful with her", Priya keeps her head on his shoulder.
"Dont worry, we will do it as team", Ram kisses her head.
"Mom...dad please sone do na...kitni baatein karte ho", Pihu kept the pillow on her ears to avoid noise. Ram and Priya left for their respective works.
Ram and Priya were happy that finally life was coming on track for them and their children. Pari and Myra started taking interest in their studies and that was a welcome relief. Ram promised them that if they score good grades, he will convince Priya to double their pocket money. Ram discussed with Priya about Kush's career too. They came to conclusion that they will send him to a good acting school and let him follow his passion and dream. They will support him. They also decided to ask Pihu what she wants to do with her life and to somehow get her busy with something in her life to overcome her grief.
Ram was finally a happy man with everything going smoothly. He had only one regret that he was not an indulging father anymore and all thanks to Priya. He always loved being an indulging dad to his children, fulfilling their every wish and desire but Priya put a full stop to that. Well, he can never understand what Priya found so wrong in it.
Priya was finally free after sending Ram to office and Pari, Myra to college. She checked on Kush who was busy practicing for some audition. She went to her room to have some rest and there her eyes fell on Pihu who was sleeping away oblivious to things happening in her own home. "Pihu get up", Priya tapped her shoulder.
"Mumma please", Pihu covered her face with quilt. "Pihu its too late...get up fast", Priya snatched the quilt.
Instead of getting up, she pulled Priya and kept her head on her lap, "mumma aap mujhse ab bhi naraz ho na"
"Kisne kaha", Priya caressed her head.
"Mujhe laga aisa...aap mujhe avoid kar rahi thi isiliye subah mujhe nhi uthaya", Pihu complained
"Pihuuu...tere dimag mai yeh saari baatein aati kahan se hai", Priya was annoyed but she calmed herself down, "aisa kuch nhi hai...Mr Kapoor ko kuch discuss karna tha tum sab ke baare mai toh mai busy thi...okay"
"Okay", Pihu hugged her in same position.
"Now get up mujhe Suhani ko call karna hai", Priya casually told but realised the blunder within few seconds.
"Aap ko Suhani se kya baat karna hai", Pihu was annoyed.
"Yehi k mujhe ab kisi doctor ki zaroorat nahi hai", Priya was relieved to see Pihu calming down, " Pihu itna possessive hona thik nahi hai"
"Aap sirf meri mumma ho aur mujhe accha nahi lagta jab aap us Suhani ko attention dete ho", Pihu complained. Priya smiled at her, "I am your mother not hers so obliviously I love you more than her"
"You love me more than everyone na", Pihu wanted to confirm.
"No", Priya replied, " tumhara number Mr Kapoor ke baad aata hai"
"I don't mind...papa ka haq banta hai", Pihu chuckles
"Okay bahot baatein hogayi now get up", Priya tried moving but Pihu didn't let her, "pls mumma rehne do na aise hi...mujhe accha lag raha hai"
"Mumma mujhe accha nahi lagta jab aap sabko attention dete ho...aap sirf mere mumma ho, Promise me k aap sirf mujhse pyar karoge", Priya was amused by Pihu's weird wishes and promises.
"Okay...but thoda pyar toh Myra, Pari aur Kush bhi deserve karte hai"
"Haan pata hai", Pihu was little annoyed
"Ma, papa, Nuts, dadi...inhe bhi attention deni hogi na", Priya teased her, "aur phir Saumya, Rishabh, Ishika bhi toh hai"
"Aap sabko apna pyar aur attention do bas mujhe mat do", Pihu was highly irritated
"Pihu...you should not be so possessive, samjhi aur tu hamesha mera fav baccha rahega", Priya cheers her up.
The mother-daughter moments were disturbed by Mr.Kapoor's call. Priya excused herself and went to talk to Ram.
"So Mrs Kapoor busy toh nhi thi na"
"Aapko kya lagta hai? "
"Kya kar rahi thi"
"Pihu ko batarahi thi k sabse zyaada pyar kis se karti hoon"
"Toh kya bataya", Ram asked curiously
"Sach bataya", Priya teased him.
"Toh mujhe bhi SACH batao", he emphasised sach.
"Yehi k mai sabse zyaada pyar Dhoni se karti hoon"
"Yaar yeh Dhoni kahan se aagaya phir", Ram was annoyed
"Wo gaya kaha tha", Priya laughed
"Thik hai...you will pay for it", Ram warned her.
Priya was distracted on seeing Sammy going towards Pihu's room, "Sammy yahan ", Priya gasped which Ram heard.
"Sammy kya karne aaya hai wahan", Ram was furious. More than furious, he was afraid if their efforts to pull out Pihu from grief will go in vain.
"Mai dekhti hoon Ram...you dont worry", Priya disconnected the call and ran in direction of Pihu's room.
Pihu and Sammy were standing opposite to each other and Priya could clearly see Pihu's eyes raging with anger. She went and stood next to Pihu.
"Pihu i need to talk to you", Sammy spoke. Priya held Pihu's hand in her hands to assure she is with her. Pihu calmed a bit with Priya's assurance. It was difficult for her to control her anger but she tried for her mother's sake and spoke, "kya baat karni hai".
"Aunty please kya mai Pihu se akele mai baat karsakta hoon", Sammy's request disappointed Priya.
"Jo bhi bolna hai mom ke samne bolo...mom kahin nahi jarahi hai", Pihu fiercely answered him.
Priya sensed Sammy's uneasiness in her presence hence decides to leave them alone with heavy heart, "Pihu I will be outside...and keep your calm, okay", she whispered quietly and went out.
"Pihu dekh I am sorry, mai janta hoon tu mujhse bahot upset hai", Sammy started his apology, "maine galat kiya, mujhe aisa nahi karna chahiye tha"
"Oh tujhe finally realise hua k tu ne galat kiya", Pihu mocked him
Priya was parading outside Pihu's room anxiously. She decided to eavesdrop unable to control her anxiety. She knows her daughter well, If pushed beyond limit she reiterates in anger and she do not want that to happen.
"Meri galti hai k maine tera pyar nhi samjha", Sammy continued
"Tu sympathy dene aaya hai mujhe? Mujhe nhi chahiye teri sympathy", Pihu retorted
Sammy, by now, understood that Pihu won't give up. Her bitterness and hatred were evident in her words and way of speaking but he have to end this all for once, "Suhani broke up with me", he blurted. Pihu was momentarily happy but gain her composure back and remained stiff. Sammy continued, "wo mujhse baat nahi kar rahi hai, wo mujhe apni life se dur karna chahti hai"
"Tu mujhe kyu bata raha hai sab", Pihu asked coldly.
Ram was home within few minutes. He made up his mind to punch Sammy if he have come to hurt Pihu again. He was adamant on getting in the room but Priya stopped him. What they heard next shocked them.
"Kya tu mujhse shaadi karegi Pihu?", Sammy questioned her.
Ram and Priya entered the room. Priya was praying that Pihu should not accept proposal. She had a feeling that Sammy is not the right life partner for her princess. Ram was waiting impatiently for Pihu's answer.
Pihu could not believe that Sammy actually proposed her. Her heart was happy but her mind warned her. Keeping herself calm, she spoke, "what about Suhani? Have you forgot her completely? Will you promise that you will not look back at her? Your past? Will you remain loyal to me?"
Priya gleamed with joy at her daughter's intelligence and sensible behaviour.
"Pihu mai ..." , Sammy was at loss of words
"Kya hua? Nahi kar sakta na yeh sab?", Pihu questioned him again.
Sammy could not say a word. How was he suppose to forget Suhani? He do really love her. He desperately wanted to show Suhani that he can live without her hence decided to marry Pihu. He thought it will be easy to convince Pihu as she loves him but Pihu had flipped her behaviour.
"Sorry Sammy I can't marry you", Pihu was firm in her decision.
"Par tu toh mujhse", Sammy was interrupted by Pihu, "haan tujhse shaadi karna chahti thi par ab nahi...I do still have feelings for you but you dont feel the same for me isiliye maine decide kiya hai I will move on in my life...thoda mushkil hoga but I will do...ab tu ja sakta hai".
Sammy wanted to insist Pihu but Ram's presence intimidated him hence he left.
"Maa kya hua aapko...ro kyu rahe ho", Pihu rushed to Priya who had tears in her eyes. Ram wiped his tears so that Pihu don't notice.
"Papa dekho na mom ko", Pihu looks at Ram and catches him wiping his cheeks.
"Koi mujhe batayega k kya horaha hai", Pihu folds her hands and looks at her parents for answer but she gets a smile from them.
"Kuch nhi horaha hai dadi amma", Priya wipes her tears.
"Dadi amma nhi Pihu", Pihu corrects Priya and continues, "abhi ro rahe the abhi has rahe ho"
"Tu nhi samjhegi", Ram answers her. Before Pihu could ask further queries, Ram hugs her.
"Mujhe phirse bhul gaye", Priya complains. Pihu and Ram invites her.
Ram and Priya did not expected maturity from Pihu. The moment Sammy proposed marriage, they were afraid that Pihu might accept proposal without foreseeing the future but today she proved them wrong. They did not wanted to marry her off to someone who doesn't love her and Pihu took that decision by herself.
"Papa I want to continue my studies, can I?", Pihu questioned.
"Ofcourse Rockstar you can...mai abhi dekhta hoon which will be best University for you", Ram assures her.
"Mai yahin Mumbai hi padhna chahti hoon...mujhe aap dono se dur nahi jaana".
It was decided that Pihu will study in Mumbai as per her wish. Ram and Priya thanked God for bringing their and their children's life on track. Pihu was aware that it will be difficult for her to forget Sammy but she was determined to do so. She realized that Sammy do not deserve her love.
p.s. Finally done wid SS 😎 Thank you to all who liked it. I hoe this SS was worth reading 😆 I had big issues the way CV handles SaSuPi drama so thought to change it😆
