Kavita's role, her dialect and style in FIR made her a household name.
I have grown-up as an actor when I played Chandramukhi Chautala. I saw a transformation within myself. I will not say that after playing Chandramukhi, I got typecast. I would rather, say that I have made a brand. I feel lucky that audience and makers associate me with such Dabangg characters. Viewers will get to see everything from romance, comedy, dance, action, emotion to drama. It feels great to be back working on SAB TV. It's a great channel, a known territory, and it's a happy channel which does clean comedy. It's been my territory for 9 years so I have always had a great association working with the channel. I am very happy and glad that they have given me such a wonderful crazy character like Dr.Bhanumati to play yet again," Kavita Kaushik said.
The actress, who is returning to comedy with her new show Dr. Bhanumati, is thrilled. Kavita says she can't see herself doing regressive daily soaps that are currently on air.
"I have been offered roles where I am asked to do a special entry in a show as a Naagin, Daayan, vamp, but I just don't relate myself with these characters. I find more scope when I play Chandramukhi Chautala or Dr. Bhanumati. It's a different high to play these roles. I will never do a regressive show just for the heck of TRPs. People are bashing Dipika (Samson) on social media for playing Makkhi (a fly in Sasural Simar Ka). I am sure even she doesn't want to do this nor she has a say in it, but due to the pressure of TRP, she is doing it. I know Dipika, she is a very good person. Since, people in rural love watching these stuff and TRPs come from there, the makers are busy making it. TV and cinema is considered as the mirror of the society but look what we are teaching our kids. All these shows only focus on hatredness and jealousy. There is no kindness, courtesy left," said Kavita.
When asked, if she was disappointed when her last show 'Tota Weds Maina' didn't work, Kavita said, "As an actor even I want to do good and different roles. But I have realized that my fans and audience doesn't want to see me as a bahu. If they want to see a docile bahu, they will prefer to see Sakshi Tanwar and not me. They want to see me doing fearless, brave characters, doing stunts and not in a sati-savitri character. Yes, as an actor I was disappointed when Tota Weds Maina didn't work. I was kicked when I got the offer as I was doing something different after playing Chandramukhi Chutala for 9 years. But people rejected me as Maina within two months. They didn't even watch the show. FIR was a hit show at same time slot, but viewers simply refused to see the docile character in 'TWM'. They were shocked, angry, upset as they wanted to see the strong and unapologetic Kavita."
