The whole house is quiet but I can hear silent murmurs downstairs. I closed the door and just decided to wait for Ram until he comes and picks me up here.

My eyes suddenly landed on an old picture in Ram's desk. I walked over to it and what I saw made me froze.

PART 10

Priya's POV

The picture was old and black and white but what caught my attention is that the young lady beside Ram on the picture looks just like me. She has the same dark wavy hair like mine but she was wearing old fashioned clothes. Ram was the same as he was now, but he was also wearing old fashioned clothes, and he was smiling. He looks so happy. Why did this girl looks so much like me?

I picked the picture and frame and looked at the back. A small writing caught my eyes.

RAM KAPOOR and RIYA KHURANA year 1902

Year 1902 and Riya? Was this why Ram is helping me? Is it because I look like her?

A tear slipped from my eyes as the picture frame fell to the ground, a loud shattering sound filled my ears.

I looked down in horror at the broken pieces of the picture frame and its sharp edges splitting the picture in half. My eyes widened as I realized what I have done.

The doorknob to Ram's room was twisted and was pushed open by a shocked Ram as he looked at the ground where the broken picture and picture frame lies. He ran vampire speed to where it was and kneeled beside it.

The rest of his family looked in shock between Ram and me as tears endlessly fell for my eyes.

"Ram.'' I started as I walked towards him. "I'm sorry.''

I placed a hand on his shoulder, only for him to violently push me off, sending me to fly meters away from him. Everyone's attention turn on me, even Ram, his glowing emerald eyes were now coal black but his canines weren't sharpened into fangs. But for the first time , he really scared me.

I hit my head hard on the edge of the desk and I can feel something sticky. I touched the back of my head and the blood on my palm made me dizzy.

Ram was about to lunge at me, but Rishab and Sid caught him swiftly, holding him. Everyone, except AK, stared at the blood flowing from my head, their eyes slowly turning coal black. AKJI was at my side swiftly with his vampire speed. He placed his palm on my head to stop the bleeding.

I started to get dizzy and my visions blurred as I fell on AKJI's chest, consciousness finally leaving my body.

Ram's P.O.V.

I watched as Priya's unconscious body was carried by AK ji bridal style to his small clinic downstairs. Her blood was still scattered on the desk where she hit her head. Once she's gone, Sid and Rishab finally released me.

I feel so guilty. I let my emotions take control of me, causing me to hurt her. I saw the fear in her eyes. If Rishab and Sid hadn't saved me in time, I could have lunged at her. I hate myself for doing that to her.

Sid and Rishab walked out of the room as KK ji returned with a garbage can in her hands and picked up the broken pieces of glass on the floor. I helped her and she gave me a weak smile. When she was finished, she dashed vampire speed out of the room, followed by Nutz and Soumya. I sat on the couch and sighed heavily as I placed my head in my hands.

After minutes of thinking in my room, I decided to see if Priya is okay. I walked to AKji's small clinic in his office. I knocked three times before entering. The rest of my family is nowhere to found.

I entered AKji's clinic and I see AKji staring at Priya, who was peacefully lying on one of his clinical beds. I sighed as I finally got in.

"Ram.'' AKji acknowledged me as he turned to face me.

"Is she okay?'' I asked him but my gaze was only focused on Priya. He looked back at her as he stood up from his seat.

"Yes, she is.'' He replied as I stood next to him, eyeing the sleeping girl. "I managed to stitch her head up. She'll wake up in a few hours.''

"I pushed her t-that h-hard?'' I said in disbelief.

"Ram, you're a vampire.'' AKji told me. "You're a lot stronger than you think you are.''

"I don't know what happened.'' I admitted. "I just got angry and I lost control.''

"I understand.'' He patted my back comfortingly. "You still love Riya, didn't you? But she's gone and I know Priya makes you happy.''

I nodded. "Yes, she does.''.

"I'll leave alone you with her.'' AKji said as he walked and exited his office. I sighed as I looked back to Priya who was still asleep. I ran my cold hands through her soft face. She was so beautiful. And I know for a fact that she was a lot stronger than Riya in every way.

Priya's P.O.V.

My head hurt as I tried to open my eyes but failed. I reopened my eyes again just to be blinded by the light as I tried to stand up but cold, strong arms carefully pushed me back down to the bed.

"Priya, you hurt your head.'' A deep and familiar voice spoke to my right. "You need to rest.''

I quickly realized who it was so I back away in fear as I opened my eyes, a set of black eyes staring at me with concern.

"Priya, I'm sorry.'' He said sincerely. "I didn't mean-''

"Please don't hurt me.'' I murmured out of instinct making him looked pained. I still remember what he did to me before I lost consciousness. Is he really that scary that he is willing to kill me for breaking the picture frame? That picture must mean so much to him. And then it hit me. Ram only saved me before because I remind him of Riya. He would never love me for me.

A tear rolled down my cheek as Ram looked at me in shock.

"Please, Priya.'' He pleaded desperately as he tried to hug me but I flinched. "I'm sorry.''

"Just take me home.'' My eyes squeezed shut as another tear rolled down my cheek. I jumped out of the bed, still kind of dizzy. Ram tried to help me but I showed him I don't need his help.

Soumya appeared into my sight as she assisted me. "Priya, are you feeling better now?''

"Yes.'' I lied as I almost tripped but Soumya caught me.

"Priya, I'll take you home.'' Ram offered as he strolled behind us.

"No, Ram bhai.'' Soumya told him. "I think it's better if I take her home.''

Ram's face looked more pained when Soumya said those words. I can tell he wanted to argue but Soumya and I were already walking to her car. She helped me get in and in vampire speed; she was already sitting next to me on the driver's seat.

She looked at me worriedly before she started the ignition of the car and drove off. I looked outside the window. It was dark now and I hope Papa isn't worrying for me. A tear rolled down my cheek but I quickly wiped it with the back of my hand.

It was a quiet journey as Soumya focused on driving safely to our destination while I looked outside into the darkness of the night. I thought of asking her about whom Riya is lots of times but I wasn't brave enough. Finally, I mustered the courage to ask her.

"Soumya, who's Riya?''

Silence enveloped our surroundings as Soumya's face grew serious. I thought she wouldn't answer so I turned away, but then she cleared her throat before she spoke.

"Riya is the first woman Ram ever loved in his life...''

Flashback (Sorry guys. I know this is really heartbreking for RaYa Lovers )

Third Person's P.O.V.

Riya Khurana is the finest and youngest daughter of Anil Khurana and Anita Khurana. She was the perfect daughter and she was raised to be well mannered by her overprotective and strict parents. All her life, she wasn't allowed to have any kind of connection and interaction with boys...

But one day AKji brought Ram with him to do business with Anil Khurana and that's when Ram's eyes landed on the beautiful Riya. Ram was still struggling with his vampire thirst up to that day since he was turned, but he struggled to change for the lovely lady. Since that, Ram and Riya would meet in secret at a meadow they both loved to go.

Riya valued human life so much that Ram himself believed everything that she said. Her dream in life was to live a normal life with the man she loves and their children. Ram didn't get the chance to reveal what he really is to her though because she doesn't want her to be aware on their Dark World.

Juhi, Ram's supposed to be mate, informed the Khuranas about Ram and Riya's secret relationship. Anil Khurana was enraged and when he caught Ram and Riya, he aimed for Ram with his shot gun, but instead Riya took the shot, not knowing her lover is a supernatural creature.

Riya died on Ram's arms and he wanted to turn her badly to be able to save her but he remembered Riya's dream.

End of Flashback

Priya's P.O.V.

"Ever since, Ram became violent and he started draining humans. He never loved anyone ever since.'' Soumya finished. I already had tears running down my cheeks. I never thought Ram could be so selfless that he didn't turn Riya just for her to be happy.

A soft smile appeared on Soumya's pink lips but her eyes remained focused on the road. "Until he met you, Priya. You accepted what he was so he was really happy. You made him happy after years, Priya.''

I can't help but feel guilty after I didn't let Ram explain a while ago. He was just maybe confused. But I can't help but think that he only thinks of me as a replacement for Riya.

I sighed as I looked outside the window. "Thank you for telling me, Soumya. Now I know what Ram went through in his earlier years.''

She smiled at me as she placed her cold hand on my shoulders. "Priya, you're part of our family now.''

I smiled to myself as we finally reached the familiar parking lot of my house. Once Soumya parked the car in the driveway, Rajat and Papa worriedly approached us.

Soumya turned off the engine of her car as I stepped out. Papa and Rajat quickly approached me and Rajat pulled me into his hug. I hugged him back warmly. I really missed him so much.

"Priya, where have you been?'' he asked "You got us all worried.''

"Sorry, Rajat.'' I replied sincerely. "But I'm fine.''

Papa faked a cough as he pulled me away from Rajat. He hugged me really tight, too. "Priya, I thought I...''

"I'm fine, Papa.'' I reassured me.

Gladly, Soumya came to my rescue. "Sir, I'm afraid it's my fault.'' Papa looked at Soumya as she spoke with respect and confidence. "I asked Priya to come with me to the mall and we lost track of time. I really apologize for bringing your daughter, Mr. Diaz.''

Papa turned his full attention to Soumya. "It's alright. But next time call or at least text me okay? What's your name, dear?''

"Soumya.'' She replied as she shook Papa's hand.

"Nice to meet you, Soumya.''

"Nice to meet you too, Mr. Diaz.'' Soumya smiled at me. "I'll best be on my way.''

Papa nodded and I waved at Soumya as she waved back and entered her car. I watched as her car drove off and vanished into the darkness of the night.

"I best be going on my home too, Sir.'' Rajat spoke after a minute of silence.

"Why don't you join us for dinner?'' Papa offered him. He shook his head.

"I'll be fine.'' He hugged me again. "I'll see you at college tomorrow, Priya.''

"Okay.'' I told him as we pulled away. I watched as Rajat car drove off..

"I'll just go to my room.'' I said as soon as Papa and I entered the house. He nodded and I quickly goes the stairs.

I twisted the door knob to my room. I was about to close the door to my room when cold strong arms wrapped around my waist. I adjusted my eye sight to the dark and saw a familiar figure holding me tight.

"Ram.'' I smiled as I wrapped my arms around him. He just rested his head on my shoulder.

"I'm really sorry, Priya.'' He told me sincerely. "I don't know what happened. I didn't mean it. I swear I would never hurt you on purpose.''

We pulled away and I slowly caressed Ram's cold cheek. "Ram, I understand.''

He smiled as he lead my hands around his cheek. "I'll make it up to you.''

"I'll make it up to you.'' Ram told me as he looked straight into my eyes. I gulped before I came up with the right words.

"How?''

He smiled when he saw how nervous I am for his answer. "I'll take you out tomorrow after college to a secret place that is so special to me.''

"Really?'' My eyes sparkled at what he said causing him to widen his smile, even if that is even possible.

"Of course, I want to show you how sorry I really am.'' He said sincerely, his glowing emerald eyes staring right into my eyes, making me weak on the knees.

I saw him open the window and before he can jump out into the night, I stopped him.

"Ram, can you stay with me tonight?'' I asked him as he turned his head to me and grin.

"I'd love that.'' He stepped back into my room and walked over to my bed. "Aren't you going to eat for dinner?''

"I'm not hungry.'' I lied as I sat next to him in the bed. He chuckled softly and I raised an eyebrow on him.

"Why are you chuckling?''

"Nothing it's just that I can hear your stomach grumbling.'' He joked while still softly chuckling. I rolled my eyes playfully at him. "Go on, eat. I won't leave.''

"Promise?'' I asked like a little child. He chuckled again before answering.

"Promise.''

I smiled once again before I stood up from the bed. I twisted my doorknob but before I fully exit the room, I looked back and took a quick glance at Ram who was still in my bed, his eyes gazing into my window. I hope he stays.

I realized something. Destiny brought Ram and I together. I didn't believe in that stuff but now it all makes sense. If I didn't come here in Dehradoon, then I wouldn't have met Ram. He might be a dangerous bloodsucker, but I realized that he was also selfless and caring. If I was in his place, I would have turned Riya despite her dream of living a normal human life, for us to be together. But no, he chose to let her die as a human so she could be happy even if he knows that it would haunt him forever.

I smiled happily as I started down on the stairs to our kitchen.
