Part 8:

Priya was stunned. Wo kuch nahi boli. Bas Ram ko ghuur rahi thi par mann me buht se khayal aane lage. She was at the edge of her seat and staring at the table.

Ram muskuraata raha...Ram now bent forward and tried to grab her attention: "Don't worry, nothing to be so serious." Priya ne suna bhi nahi...uska dhyan hi nahi raha. Ram ko ehsaas hui ye baat.

Ram waved his palm in front of her: "Hellooo"

Jhat se Priya ko realize hua ki wo baat kar raha hai...she turned her face away from him. She got up: "Mae..mae chalti hun, der ho rahi hai..."

Ram knew she was feeling awkward. He also knew any girl in her place would have reacted the same way. He also got up: "Sure, I understand aap uncomfortable hai...mae nhi rokunga...chaliye mae ghar drop kar deta hun."

Priya tried to refuse taking a drop, but Ram smiled: "I know aap khud jaa sakte hai par please let me drop...I promise mae koi baat nahi karunga raaste me... ok na." and smiled. Priya did not react.

Dono hall se bahar aaye. Ram told her: "Ek minute aata hun" and went to that boy whom he had shouted at. Priya ko unki baatein sunaye nhi di par she could make out Ram was apologizing to that boy and even patted his back and returned. Priya ko ye baat acchi lagi par kuch nahi kaha. Ram apne driver se bola ki wo khud drive karega...aur driver ko ghar jane ko kaha. Priya ko front seat me bithaya aur fir khud baith kar car seat adjust karne laga.

Priya: "Ghar tak mat jayiye, us se thoda pehle utar jaungi. Ghar me nahi pata ki apse milne aayi hun".

Ram started to drive...her house was far, ek ghante ka rasta tha. Priya kabhi aage to kabhi window ke bahar dekhne lagi. Ram chhup chhupkar usko dekh raha tha... 10 mins guzre. Ram pointed at the music deck. Priya nodded, indicating a yes. To Ram ne FM chalaya. Gaana aa rha tha: Priya Priya o Priya tu chaand hai poonam ka...Ram muskuraane laga lyrics sunkar. She noticed him and it was irritating. Ram ne jhat se volume increase kiya Priya ki reaction dekhne. Priya ne ek sherni jesa look diya... Ram darr gaya... innocent face banakr off hi kar diya...Priya usko hi ghuur rahi thi phle aur fir khidki se bahar dekhne lagi aur sochi: "Ek to pata nahi kya kehne wale the hotel me...upar se irritate kar rahe hai. Worli junction traffic signal me Red aaya to Ram casually apne right side wala car dekha. He was shocked first and then expressed delight. Priya ko dekha...wo usko nhi dekh rhi thi. Baat krna mana tha to Ram ne dheere dheere Priya ki shoulder ko tap kiya to call her. Priya turned to him and he immediately withdrew his hand. Ram pointed his fingers to that car. Par Priya ko Ram ka chehra hi beech me aa raha tha...Priya bent par she couldn't make out what he wanted her to see.

Priya: "Kya hai waha boliye to! Aap itne bade...I mean...there is very little I can see from here...aap...aap hi dikh rahe hai."

Ram made a face to her and spoke: "Ye car me kon hai dekhiye...look who's driving."

Priya hesitantly bent...her head almost close to his chest...Ram Priya ko dekh raha tha. Priya bent further down towards the steering...and could see who was driving. She then saw someone sitting next to that person. She got curious...after a few seconds, Priya wapis gayi.

Priya: "Aap usko kaise jaate hai?"

Ram smiled: "Wo mera rishtedaar hone wala hai"

Priya felt teased: "Not funny. Please theek se boliye how do you know him?"

Ram: "Karthik Sharma, brother of Priya Sharma...correct?"

Priya: "Yes lekin...oh unke car nikal raha hai. I wanted to know who that girl is. Karthik drive kar raha hai wrna call karke abhi puch leti..."

Ram smiled: "Green signal hai to jayenge hi na! Let them go unhe bother nahi karte hai...dinner date par hai wo. Mae side me park karke apko sab samjhata hun wait."

Ram parked his car nearby and grinned: "Aaj mera time boht accha hai. Jo mae kehna chahta tha wo ab apne khud dekh liya. Aur jo kehne se darta tha... wo apne khud keh diya ..."

Priya retorted: "Don't confuse me."

Ram smiled: "Let me explain. Wo ladki Natasha Kapoor hai, brother of Ram Kapoor."

Priya asked, setting her hair: "Matlab apki behen? Wo Karthik ke saath?"

Ram: "Hmm meri behen... Chhoti. They both have been seeing each other. Chhoti ke fashion show me mile dono...wo Karthik se pyar karti hai..he too loves her. Shadi karna chahte hai..."

Priya: "What!! Mujhe bataya bhi nahi."

Ram smiled: "Mae bata raha hun na. Actually aaj mae yahi kehne wala tha hotel me. I mean it was a part of my agenda. Filhal ke liye mera first point regarding confession..use chodiye. Second point ki apke ghar aana tha...it was regarding their marriage. Chhoti ke liye Kartik ka haath maangne aane wala tha. And mera third point...unki shadi ka tha."

It was all getting too much for Priya. She looked very confused.

Ram: "Mujhe Kartik pasand aaya..nice chap...and Chhoti ko khush rakhega. By the way Chhoti bhi kafi sweet hai...Aaa...aap aise mat dekhiye...Karthik ko mere office bulaya tha aur baat ki thi kal din me...almost 4hrs. Usi dauran usne kaha ki aap college fest me busy hai isi liye ghar me baat nahi ho payi par 2-3 din me sab bata dega apko."

Priya interrupted: "hmm...par apko kese pata chala ki wo mera bhai hai?"

Ram laughed: "hahaha...it was simple. Jab apne Karthik se mere bare me info maanga tha speech k liye...u had sent questions...wo sheet mujhe Chhoti ne diya. Usi waqt shaq tha ki it was for you...par I didn't probe much. She had filled a few answers baki maine krke diya. Fest ke din maine apse speech ki sheets maangi thi yaad hai? The last page had rough work...wo meri handwriting thi...to usi waqt confirm hua ki there is a connection somewhere...fir chhoti se saari baat pata lagayi and then I spoke to karthik...aur fir aaj apse baat karne wala tha..."

Priya spoke after a few seconds: "My God kitna sab kuch ho gaya ek hi din me!"

Ram smiled: "Haan unke rishte ki baat karne aaya to hamara b pakka ho gaya!" and immediately bit his tongue...he realized it was not needed to be told. He looked at Priya. She had shied...koi gussa ya irritation nahi tha...sirf ek choti si muskaan. Ram ko buht tasalli mili. He started the car. Raste me dono thoda idhar udhar ke baatein krte rahe.

Ram: "Oh..apke ghar tak aa gaya. I was supposed to drop you at the previous street itself na? Baato baato me pata nahi chala."

Priya giggled: "Are han I dint realize" and got out of the car and said: "Actually...why don't you come home? Ek cup chai to pijiye aur mere maa-papa se bhi mil lijiye." Ram hesitated but Priya insisted.

She took him near the staircase, Ram ki nazar dusri taraf thi: "Lift...lift waha hai na"

Priya: "Nahi wo kharab hai..stairs lenge."

Ram smiled: "Oh..ok sure.." they started to climb. When they reached first floor, Ram started to move towards the houses there...

Priya saw him going: "Is floor me nahi."

Ram made an expression and climbed another floor. The same thing happened...he assumed the house is on that floor par but no...by now he got slower...Priya chad gayi seedi aur peeche dekha to Ram railings pakadte huwe Priya ko ghuur raha tha.

Ram asked with a puppy face: "Hope isi floor me h"

Priya smiled: "5th floor"

Ram stood there itself: "Mazak hai Kya?! Pehle kyu nahi bataya? Itni stairs ek saath apni zindagi me nahi chadhi maine yaar. I think I will go

back."

Priya: "I don't believe this. Aap wapis jayenge??"

Ram felt embarrassed: "Dekhiye...nahi...nahi...kuch nahi chhodiye...mae aa raha hun...par dheere se."

Priya stood there wondering what to do. Ram was panting for breath and he didn't carry the medicine for it. Priya ko taras aa raha tha par wo kya karti. Both stood there for few minutes at each floor...fir chalne lage dheere dheere...finally ghar pahunche. Ram wiped his sweat and combed hair. Shipra ne darwaza khola...she saw both of them and and called them in. Ram folded his hands to greet her. Priya rushed to the kitchen to get him water.

Shipra smiled: "Namaste. Aapko pehchana nahi par aapke shaqal...Ram Kapoor se milti hai."

Ram smiled back: "Ji...mmm..mae Ram hi hun."

Shipra screamed: "Kya? Aap Ram Kapoor? Itne bade aadmi hamare ghar...Priya tumne btaya b nahi, ek phone to karti na beta...aji suniye...zara dekhiye kon aaye hai...are aap khade kyu hai baethiye...sorry hamara ghar chota hai...sirf 3 bhk hai...suna hai aapke mansion me kitne sare kamre hai apko pata tak nahi...aur dher saare noukar chakar gaadi driver cooks sab..." she went on and on. Priya screamed from the kitchen itself for her to stop speaking. Ram was feeling awkward. Itne me Sudheer bhi aaye aur usko chup karaya. He was also surprised to see Ram. They exchanged greetings. Priya came out with a glass of water for him.

Priya: "Maine abhi fir se dhoya hai...aur purifier ka pani hai.."

Sudheer and Shipra looked at each other...Ram smiled at her and gulped it in.

Shipra: "Buht accha laga ki aap hamare ghar aaye. Priya apki buht tareef karti rehti hai."

Ram looked at Priya naughtily and smiled: "I see."

Priya smiled at him and then gestured to her mother ki chup ho jaye...Shipra kitchen gayi chai banane.

Sudheer: "Beta zara Karthik ko phone karke puch kaha hai. Jaldi ghar aane ko kaho."

Ram blurted: "Wo chhoti ke saath...I mean...chhutti...chhutti ka din hai to its ok, call krke disturb mat kijiye...mae...mae fir kabhi milunga."

And looked at Priya. She was grinning.

Thodi baatein krte rahe fir sabne sath me chai pi...and then he took leave from there. Sudheer wanted to accompany him, par Priya ne roka: "Papa...aap yahi rahiye mae inhe chhod kar aati hun."

Ram and Priya were walking towards the staircase. Priya: "Thanks for coming. Seediyan chadna pada..abhi b 5 floors utarna hoga... im sorry."

Ram: "Its ok. Labour of love."

Priya smiled: "Aur haan meri maa thoda zyada bolti hai...par wo kafi sweet hai"

Ram asked sarcastically: "Thoda zyada?"

Priya smiled again. Ram was getting tired with each floor. Priya chupke se chalne lagi...she felt he will be more tired if he talks at that time. They finally reached ground floor.

Priya: "By the way apne bataya nahi 1st point kya tha confession ka?"

Ram smiled: "Rehne dijiye, its not important."

Priya: "Nahi I insist."

By now, they both saw a small boy entering the lift. Priya was shocked: "Chintu...lift to kharab thi na?"

The boy: "Kharab thi di. Par Kartik bhaiyya ne sham ko theek karwayi na."

Priya: "Karthik ne?"
