says she is proud of her
contemporary actor-turned-
politician and good friend Smriti
Irani.
"I am so proud of the fact that,
whatever she has done, she has
done it properly, be it modelling,
acting, politics or the role she
plays in her family as a wife,
mother, daughter and daughter-
in-law. I think Smriti is doing very
well for herself," she says.
Sakshi adds that she feels happy
to see Smriti take a leap forward
and successfully cross over from
acting to politics.
"It makes me very happy when I
see her actively involved in
politics. She wants to do so much
for the country ... all I can do is
wish her all the best," says
Sakshi, who rose to fame around
the same time as Smriti.
While Sakshi found fame with
Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki, Smriti
became a household name in
Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi.
The two were often pitted
against each other, but both
have maintained cordial relations
and claim to be good friends
even now. But, like her friend,
would Sakshi ever join politics?
"No, I think politics is not my cup
of tea," she says.
