hope you liked the progress so far. Typed this one in a hurry. Personally not very satisfied with the update. But still, do read and do comment.
Part 15
Ram and Priya rung the doorbell and stood waiting for someone to open the door. On getting no response, they tried again. They were banging the door when a servant came and opened it.
Ram pushed him aside and barged in as he kept protesting. "Sir, you cant get in like this. Please sir. Stay here.", he tried again, but Ram and Priya cared a dammn.
Hearing all this commotion, a very drunk Varun and an equally tight Anita walked out of their room. "Bahadur, what's the commotion about?", he yelled at the poor servant. It is then that he saw Ram and Priya.
"Oh, you are back? So soon? What do you want you...", Vikram cursed. "We want to see Peehu. Right now!", Ram demanded. "Where is she?", Priya asked. "None of your business.",Anita shot back.
"You don't need to tell me about our business.", Ram hissed. "Peehu.. Peehu..", Ram and Priya called out. They, however, got no response. Now, they were really tensed.
"She's not here. And you wont see her again.", Vikram laughed. Ram and Priya searched all the rooms but they couldn't find her anywhere. Back in the hall, Varun and Anita were waiting for Ram and Priya to come back after the search.
"You s***e, tell me where Peehu is, else, I'll kill you.", Ram said holding Varun's collar. Priya shut her eyes tight and wished for Peehu to come back to her. "Peehu... Baby where are you? Come back princess!", she yelled.
Just then, she could hear some noise coming from someplace around her. Ram could hear it too. As if someone was trying to knock on a wooden board. Varun and Anita's face tensed up. The voice seemed to be coming from below their feet.
In one swift motion, Ram moved the carpets away revealing the door to a cellar. Ram opened it and Priya ran down immediately. Ram, however, stood at the door so that Varun and Anita couldnt play some mischief.
Soon, Priya came out with a shivering, semi conscious Peehu. The little kid was chattering so much and had turned pale. Priya was so red in anger that Ram knew she could burst any moment. "Ram, she's running a high temperature. We need to take her to the hospital now.", Priya told him completely trying to ignore the couple. Ram immediately took off his coat and wrapped it around Peehu.
He went back to Varun and held his collar. "This time, im not gonna think about our long lost friendship. This time you have hurt the people who are very close to my heart. Be ready to face Ram Kapoor's wrath."
Taking Peehu from Priya, he walked out, holding her hand. Varun banged his hand on the table in frustration. "Let me see what you do. Ill make sure your life is worse.", he shouted in frustration.
"Priya, can you please drive? I don't think i can focus.", he said trembling in anger. Priya nodded and took the steering. Ram sat besides her, hugging Peehu tight so that she could be warm. "Thank goodness my baby is with us. I don't believe this. How can someone be so cruel? That too, to a child so sweet. How dare they hurt her Ram, she's my princess. She deserves all the happiness in the world. Who do they think of themselves. Bloody idiots.", Priya said as she started the engine. "Calm down Priya. And focus. We need to get Peehu to the hospital as soon as we can. Come on.", Ram said, struggling to calm himself down and keep aside the thoughts of killing Varun right then.
They were at the hospital soon and Peehu was taken into the intensive care. As the doctor pierced needles into Peehu's body and attached various pumps and tubes, Priya winced in pain, hiding herself in Rams arms. She couldn't see Peehu getting hurt. "Ram, don't spare the people who did this to Peehu.", Priya cried. "I promise Priya. I promise those people wont have a happy life.", he said caressing her.
Ram and Priya were waiting outside the examination room for the doctor to finish his checkup. "Nothing to worry, Mr Kapoor. She should get conscious by tomorrow morning. Its just exposure to cold and some kind of change in her surroundings maybe that caused this.", the doctor explained. Ram shook hands with the doctor while Priya rushed in to see her little darling. Peehu was still asleep, but it was due to the medication this time.
Priya was running her hands through her hair when Ram entered. He saw his Priya crying silently and went up to her, holding her from behind. "Priya, I'll drop you home and come back here to stay with Peehu. Come.", he said. "No Ram, i cant go home. I wont be able to stay there. Let me be here with Peehu please. You go home and sleep. You must be tired.", she suggested. "No Priya, i cant you and Peehu here and sleep. I'll stay here with you.", he said.
Priya and Ram were sitting on the couch at the end of the room. Ram was talking constantly to her, trying to make her smile. He just couldn't bear to see his Priya vulnerable. "Priya, you know what, there's a secret. I hate hospitals.", he said. "Why Ram? Matalb, do you want to go home?", se asked worried."No, actually the thing is, im scared of injections.", he whispered into her ears. She laughed out loud, and he was happy to see her mood change. They sat talking for some more time, after which, Priya went to check on Peehu.
She sat on the stool next to the bed to check on Peehu. As she turned back, she saw her cute husband sleeping. And in his sleep, he was losing his balance. She smiled and went to sit next to him. Slowly, folding her legs up on the couch, she pulled him onto her lap, so that he could sleep peacefully. Ram laid down on the couch, and in his sleep, wrapped his hands around her waist. Caressing his hair, she too slept off resting her head on the back of the couch.
It was early in the morning when Ram and Priya were awakened by the sound a low cry. They opened their eyes to see Peehu in agony. She was rolling all over the bed in her semi conscious state, calling out to Priya and Ram.
They were by her side immediately. "Peehu, wake up princess. See, me and Ram uncle are here. Open your eyes baby. Nothing will happen to you.", Priya said. "Rockstar, you are safe. You are with us. No one can harm you sweetheart. Come on. Open your eyes and look at us.", Ram said. "Priya, i'll call the doctor." Peehu opened her eyes to see Priya sitting, holding her in a tight embrace. Peehu hugged Priya tight and started crying. Priya was rocking her continuously, trying to calm her down. "Peehu, shant bacche. We are here. You don't have to worry. You are safe with me and Ram.", she reassured the child and kissed all over her face, "I love you baby"
Ram came in with the doctor, who after the checkup, allowed them to take Peehu home. "So rockstar, all set to go home?", Ram asked. "I don't want to go back Ram uncle. I will stay here.", Peehu said innocently. "That uncle aunty are not nice. They don't love me. I don't want to go there." Ram picked her up in his arms and strolled around the room. "Peehu, you are not going back there. You are coming with us, to our house. Okay? Me and Priya will never let anything happen to you. And i promise, that uncle and aunty are punished.", Ram assured her.
