Hello everyone!
Last year in August, our then CM Nadii, had decided to post a thread called the DT Newsletter in the forum each month where she would basically outline some of the activities that would happen for that month and touch base on some of the issues that would need to be looked at from the past month. I've decided to restart the DT NL and basically at the beginning of every month, I'll be posting such a thread outlining any special activities that may be happening and any issues that need to be addressed.
For the month of July, we will be restarting the GOTW/DOTW activities thread. So far I have all the GOTWs signed up but we still need volunteers for the DOTW threads. I will also be starting the MOTW but this time I'm open to getting nominations for who you'd like to see as an MOTW. Please PM me your nominations for the MOTW by NO LATER than Thursday (July 5th). I hope to get the thread up by July 6th so I would need to know by the 5th at the latest. If you post your nominations in this thread, they will NOT be included when finalizing the MOTW. So please keep that in mind. Also, if no one nominates anyone, then I'll just go ahead and pick someone at random. But either way, we will have a MOTW starting Friday. So yay for that.. 😆
In other things, the BALH newsletter. I know we tried to start it but a lot of members were busy at the time with exams and assignments and were unable to sign up to participate in the activity. So I was thinking about restarting the NL process and this time aim to get the first NL out by August. But in order to do that, I'd like to know how many people would be interested in restarting that activity - especially since given the news of the leap, a lot of members have reduced their forum participation. The previous sign up sheet WILL NOT carry over and so we will be making a new sign up sheet and everything. But even so, I need to get a virtual head count first.
Apart from the activities, I do have some issues that need to be highlighted. Recently there have been an influx of congratulatory threads in the forum - every time someone becomes a "Senior Member", a "Goldie", a "Dazzler" or a "Rocker" we get these congratulatory posts and they are simply overwhelming the forum. I will have to ask at this time that any congratulatory posts be LIMITED to the the members forum on IF. You're welcome to congratulate each other in the chat thread in the forum but if you'd like to make a separate thread to do so, it will have to be posted in the Members Lounge (Members Lounge). Any new threads on this will be closed from here on out. This forum is primarily a BALH discussion forum and while I understand the excitement that comes with each promotion, the discussion for such topics has to be limited to appropriate forums that are established for them.
Also, please guys lets remember to check the first 3-4 pages of the forum before posting a new thread because most times a thread has already been posted in the same. And if you DO find that a repetitive thread has been posted, please do NOT continue posting in both threads! One of those threads WILL be closed/merged and so if you post your discussion in the thread posted later, your posts will be closed.
Also, please do not post questions or concerns outside the Help Desk! Such threads will also be closed!
And with that I think I've covered everything I need to touch base on this month.. Please feel free to PM me with any questions or concerns you may have.. Or you're welcome to post it here. And these threads will be archived in the Archives Mansion so that they are easily accessible to members over time.
