Angie,
IMO, the whole fault lies with the Dialogue writers, maybe equally shared by the Director coz THEY DONT KNOW WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN IN THE NEXT EPISODE!! (Ekta haven't raised their pay even after the CM ranking touched #3 spot!! OMG! asar to padega na bechaaron par!)
The dialogues have been inconsistent, the way Priya is swaying from one decision to another in a matter of 1-2 eps.. its all frustrating and mind boggling for me.
Maybe, the CVs wanted to give some strong lines to Priya (Sakshi must have had enough of the glycerine.. đ ) and starting to turn her into a cliche BT heroine (she must be missing being Parvati)
Sorry, back to being serious... pondering over "What was at stake?"
Frankly, not much! As you pointed out, they could have survived on the Pharma company, Ram wouldn't have divorced her even after Niharika's instigation (considering the early similar situations).
It all comes down to Priya wanting to be the 'Knight in Shining Armour' for her Ram and save him from his Evil stepmother and other leeches.
This is the only logic I could think of, if you count it as LOGICAL. So sit back, give your mind some rest and enjoy.
As Dumbledore says, "Its all for the greater good." (Go, spot the good! đ)
