Ram's reaction to Priya's build-up to the confession was undeniably most appropriate. Although he stood there stunned and speechless, it painted a picture of a thousand words. He did not have to say anything; he conveyed his disappointment and dissatisfaction of his own behaviour through his facial expressions. The audience knew exactly how he was feeling. Ram knew that whatever Priya was saying in her rage contained her sincerity and was certainly the reality of his actions. He allowed her to speak her mind without interruption because she was hurting so much – he could hear the stinging pain and agony unfolding as she lashed out at him. The realisation of his own actions and the treatment of his wife whom he claimed to have loved more than anything in the world, left him disgusted with himself, and his appallingly trivial and inapplicable thoughts about her. The shame and embarrassment showed clearly on his face. Ram could not believe what Priya was going through, all because of his own selfish inadequacies and weaknesses. The crowning moment was when the tears rolled down Ram's cheeks silently in acknowledgment of Priya's confession – nothing needed to be said. He conveyed the humiliation that he felt for himself through every slight expression on his face. Ram simply stood there mortified at the realisation of his own foolishness. And finally, when Priya fell on his chest completely exhausted and spent after her revealing her pent-up frustrations with him, it was almost as if he did not find himself worthy of comforting her. I strongly believe that along with Sakshi, Ram deserves a standing ovation for this one too, Bravo Ram Kapoor, bravo.
