First of all you are doing a fantastic job! Thank you!! I know you are not available at all times but do come back with performing our requests at a reasonable time.

This is regarding closure of couple of topics

1) Singalharsh's topic on sony promotions.. You closed it stating that it has to be discussed in TRP and TAM thread.. ?I don't understand it since TRP's and TAM's are anywyz discussed ovr there. And if somebody wants to discuss sony's promotions strategies and Ekta's ideas.. I guess we should b e allowed to.

2) POPS had created a topic O re piya on one of the episodes.. You had closed it saying that it was just a good episode pt of view which is not tolerated.. But the post wasn't just saying good episode.. It had valid points for discussion. I know I took too long to discuss this.. but I think we need to give ppl some levy. They aren ot making one liner posts or making posts that just say adjective episode..

3) Instead of closure for some topics, would you be able to merge them. There are genuine cases where it happens.. Pt in case I hardly see IPKKND forum msgs being closed except when there is user request on tht or some really crazy post.. Forum is flooded after posts but they are merged acc. And in our forum, its not even regular.. it is one off that this happens. could u accomodate it? If any of us had the power to merge and clean the forum, we could help you!! But tht's not the case.

Hope you didn't mind. I don't think my requests are too muich to ask.. Just mentioning! And I was not sure where to post it!

I really appreciate your input about the forum and how it's handled. But just as a general rule on IF, any comments/concerns/suggestions about the forum and the DT should be PM-ed to the DT. Posting topics on an open forum gives any comment a confrontational tone and it may promote a hostile environment on the forum.

That being said, for the points raised in this thread, I would like to mention that "merging" threads is a privilege that is extended to the members as a courtesy by the DT. It takes us time and effort to merge threads. But we understand that sometimes accidentally two similar topics get posted and they don't deserve to be closed. Initially we were very lenient about the double posts being merged. But I've noticed that since I merge the posts, members just assume it's okay to post double posts because hey, it will be merged! And that is unacceptable. 😊 I am willing to and more than happy to merge posts and threads, but that doesn't mean that it can be used as a means to be irresponsible on our part. The promotions threads in question have been REPETITIVE on this forum for the past month. Every other day, I see a NEW thread regarding promotions. And that isn't necessary. We can either continue the discussion in ONE promotion thread from now on - or we can continue it in the TRP thread (because this is related to TRPs). But new threads will not be allowed or merged - they will be closed. 😊

I normally always merge threads and the ONLY time they get closed is if it's too repetitive.
