guys as i Punjabi i must say that religion should not be brought into language...why consider Punjabi a language of Sikhs only as topic starter seem to imply...punajbi is language of the region which is called land of 5 rivers starting from almost Rawalpindi in Pakistan to touching ambala in east...people follow different faiths... Hindu Muslim Sikh Christian and speak brilliant punajbi...language belongs to a region not religion...its important aspect ...ask any Bengali Muslim or Hindu they will both be equally proud of Tagore and their heritage...its same with punajbis...though Punjabi as written language is taught only in Indian Punjab and not in Pakistani punjab..
so kapoors can be Punjabi and Hindu also sometimes they follow Sikh customs too as in olden days when mughals were ruling and people were oppressed sometimes the older son of family was made a Sikh ...who sort of protected the oppressed people from the mugal emperors..so loads of same last names r in Hindus and sikhs..
what is interesting is last names u mentioned for Punjabi's which r mostly jat Sikh last names are also common in Pakistan as Muslim last names in Punjab.

a lot of people get confused with language/region and religion. Thankfully most people cleared that up and hopefully the topic maker will get a better understanding.

as for them speaking hindi, its a hindi show what do you expect.

and hte sikh customs are in fact punjabi coustoms which both hindu punjabis and sikhs follow. In fact a lot of hindu punjabis give the same respect to gurdwaras as they do mandirs.

truth is most people that are confused by this are punjabi people born in forgien countries. Punjabi in Punjab don't get confused like this. Just because 56% of punjab are sikh doesn't mean you have to be sikh to be punjabi. about 43% are Hindu there.

Exactly - as a Hindu, I not only go to temples but also to gurdwaras. I celebrate Vaisakhi (in a Hindu Punjabi way) and Lodhi, but I don't read the Guru Granth Sahib even though I respect it.

It is a confusing topic, but it's like saying that as a Hindu, I cannot be a Londoner. A Londoner can be Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Christian, Turkish, Polish or whatever else. It simply reflects where I come from, not what religion I practise.

Seriously, this thread is a waste of web space 😛 [no offence] But I really dont understand why people always drag religion/ethnicity in everything, whocares if kapoors are punjabi or NOT. Its just a drama, something for entertainment, so please get over it.

And after watching today's wonderful episode who wants to argue on this topic, I would rather argue on If Ram is over-weight, fat, or pleasantly plump 🥳

The last name of Hindhu's are : Sharma, Malhotra, Malik, Shah, Devgan, Kumar, Mukerji, Choudary, Chakarwarty, Tanwar, AND MANY MORE INCLUDING KAPOOR
Please directors stop this nonsence !! Im getting tired of this !!
And the people who are getting tiring of this nonsence please press the like button

Being India, how could you be so clueless than Punjabis are a cultural group that can be Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, or Christians? I know Kapoors that are Sikh and Kapoors that are Hindu--and they are definitely Punjabi. So, next time, get your facts straight before making a fool of yourself.

The difference is a Punjabi is someone who hails from the PROVINCE of PUNJAB (irregardless of the what faith they believe in) and Hindu is someone who is a follower of the RELIGION known as HINDUISM.

Not all of them.
