Aastha sad about replacing Smriti

Smriti Irani's Virrudh has been replaced by Babul Ka Aangan Chootey Na but the lead actress of the show Aastha Choudhary is feeling sad about it.

"I got this news later and felt bad that I'm replacing my icon Smriti Irani's show. I used to watch Virrudh regularly and from the days of Kyunki I'm a fan of Smriti. I called her up and told her that I am her fan and that I was very nervous about my show replacing hers," reveals Aastha.
How did she react? "She was very calm and composed and explained to me that it was the channel's decision and that they had planned to pull it off air much before. She also told me that in the future we will work together."

Babul Ka Aangan Chootey Na focusses on the dilemma of a married girl. Sana Sayed of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai fame plays Aastha's younger sister in the serial.

"My character name is Aastha in the show too. She is a very homely and simple person with family values. Post marriage she is not sure about her priorities - on one hand it's her first karva chauth and on the other her father has had a heart attack. The big dilemma is where should Aastha go," explains Aastha.

It's said that after her marriage a girl is like a guest for her parents. "'Shaadi ke baad pati ka ghar hi sab kuch hota hai…', 'What would you have done in a similar situation?" she questions.

Aastha believes that the story is very common. "It caters to the general audience. People can find such situations in their own houses. This show is far ahead of the daily k-soaps."

Aastha Choudhary had done a cameo in Saat Phere as Urmila.
