It is not always about outward hero material. His Nikumbh has a dignity. Confidence. A quality that has nothing to do with physical features or some machoness. More of something that comes from the inside. And that I find very attractive. I am not at all familiar with any of his previous works, but I am a fan now.
I think Vinita too is pretty apt for this role. They are doing a pretty earnest job, and that is enough for now.

The right role matters a lot...I've seen some of Abhishek's previous work...and I know he can act well...but then some of his choices after his role in Agle Janam were pretty unfortunate and I didn't really like them...with Nikumb, he finally seems to have come back on track with an author-backed role that suits his persona...I agree with what you said vis a vis Nikumb's personality...the dignity and confidence in him...everyday guy qualities rather than the overhyped machoness that most male leads run on.

Vinita is also apt for the role now I also feel...wasn't so sure in the first week but now I think she's right for the part.

This show is going to reamain for a very niche audience. So lets enjoy the show till the channel doesnt interfere with it 😆
How did Yamini get that desperation in the scene? I felt something was amiss in that scene. Especially because Raghavendra had been happy that she was acting naturally. If Raghavendra had been angry and the fear of loosing her part helped her in the scene I would have understood.

We dont have to keep guessing whats going in the mind of the protagonist as it is very clearly conveyed. In every meeting he finds something new about Yamini and Nikumb-Azam scenes helps us to know Nikumbs point of view. Best scene was how Nikumb explained about substance through three bottles. He thought that Since Yamini was a star she would be full of herself and overconfident but he was proven wrong. And she is not even that scared of her father that he initially thought.
He wants to make Yamini strong and confident .

Nikumb has started by taking Yamini out of her comfort zone. He put her into a situation where she has to think on her feet and take quick decision.

LOL channel interference is inevitable, Spidie ji...you should know that by now...let's see how long this one lasts😆

Re: Yamini...but that was exactly it...her fear of Raghavendra was the final catalyst...doesn't it make sense? Cuz in general also it's Raghavendra forcing her to get through her shows and other professional committments even when she's not feeling up to it? Her fear of her father is a powerful motivator in her life since childhood...so even in this bit, combined with how much Nikumb had rattled her with his constant needling and then having her father literally sit on her head with so much expectation, Yamini delivered under THAT pressure I felt.

Yes I also like that Azam is a sounding board for Nikumb and through his interactions with Nikumb, the audience is also able to get insight into Nikumb's thought process...in Yamini's case, her Daddo plays that part regarding Yamini sharing her thoughts.

The only thing I have faith is in channel interference 😆 . Unless it is a top ten show or one of the top show in that particular channel their interference is a given. The only thing is how many months it has a free rein. Sad but true.

I just feel that in that scene the change was sudden. But as you said maybe she performed inder pressure of presence of her father and her desperate need to be in her dads good book after that dress fiasco.

Azam, dadoo n NM helps a great deal in knowing the perspective as well as the thought processes of each character.

Initially I thought the chorbazaar scene was a set up by Nikumb and he might know the guy but it turned out to be real. I hope there is no cliche scene of Nikumb saving yamini from the goons. If that guy turns out to be Yaminis fan it will be a pleasant surprise.

Does anybody get distracted by those series of bulbs hanging in Azams house. Is it his home or studio. Lol.

@ pink : spidie, do u not think that because here we hav a narrator to explain scenes or comment on them, and azam to act as a chorus, we audiences have very little space left for imagination ? it is good till now, but i dont know if if will suffocate us in future. or maybe not ! i am so much liking neelesh mishra's style of narrating, sometimes sitting leisurely as he watched them fondly, nodding head at their antics, rolling eyes in exasperation, indulging them but worried at the same time...so very unique, naah ?

First of all TM u write beautifully even i wait for ur post... just read first few comments and just couldn't control myself from commenting abt Abhishek ... I don't knw how peoe thinks abt ideal hero now a days but Nikumbh most realistic and belivable character he is complex yet very sorted thats how normal people... We don't follow certain standard of behaviour we act according to situation thats how Nikumbh persuade for example when Raghawendra was yelling at him he choose to be silent rather being aggressive or blaming mode .. Which could add drama but loss character essence... I am loving this subtle development of story... Every character r thoughtfully created there is no unwanted sadism or dig at past...

Now coming to Abhishek as hero then iam the one who started watching this show for Abhishek .. I had followed his previous roles too starting from Agale Janam , Dekha ek Khawb and Pratigya and he is hell of talented actor he does kno how to express ... And he did variety of role like in Agale he was underdog always distressed and he portray emotionally vurnable guy beautifully, in Dekha ek khawb he was guy next door, sweet simple , comes from middle class family but that serial become doomed in persuit of anti hero thing and bad storyline... And now coming to Pratigya my most favourite one from simple sweet guy to out an out greedy, Psychopath, MCP charactet he performed exceptionally well he does get into skin of character this guy is just amazing and now as Nikumbh iam loving him more his mannerism, accent everything it actually feels this guy is really from Lukhnow ... I find him really very charming moreover very very good actor... abt forum being dead i will say its better at least its peaceful popular lead does come with baggage of fanwars, fanatics...

OMG ! Thank gawd i am not the only one😆.arre control mat kar yaar, likho yaha.this forum is too dead and inactive...write and invite all of ur friends to watch baawre and write here.
I discovered abhishek on pratigya first... i stumbled upon one episode when he was newly introduced...i never watched P regularly and knew nothing about the storyline, sach kahu toh i didnt even liked the main leads both hero and heroine.😆 he appeared as a research scholar under pratigya's father as far as i remember and that role suited him fantastically and i started watching that serial for him...then imagine my horror when they made a villain out of him, yes he did his work fantastic, but saach kahu toh he has that scholastic polished look which does not go well with they villainous streaks he had to show. i think abhishek has that aura in him, the appearance, mannerism, expression that makes him any director's first choice for the role of a literary guy.
about nikumbh, I have already written on the 1st 2/3 pages of this thread. he is one the most realistic, approachable and easy to connect fictional characters on air now !

Re: Yamini...I guess what was needed in that scene was that she nail the DESPERATION that Shakuntala felt in that moment and by the end of it as she was all but sobbing hopelessly, I guess she kinda did get it which is why Nikumb looked so triumphant...

Re: Nikumb...I like his dedication and confidence in himself too...that is what keeps him going I guess no matter how many setbacks come his way...he continues to stick to his convictions.

Haha... No. Not that kind of wary. You know such scenes... Girl in trouble, boy being the savior. Can get a little typical and just typical Indian serial-ish. But yeah, it's all probably baseless. 😆

I agree that this forum isn't an indicative and just because people may not be talking on this forum, doesn't mean they are not watching.

Audience shouldn't be underestimated, imo. Give them the right chance and time to find it and there will be a good enough audience. That being said, LifeOK seems to be screwing the show over. They are not airing Baawre in the 10 PM slot anymore.' At least they haven't Monday and Tuesday. Which is bizarre. Nadaan Parindey debuted with the double-slots too, and eventually took the 9 PM slot. Baawre, for some reason without any warning before hand, has stopped airing at the 10 pm slot, even though first week ratings tell us it did better in the 10 PM slot (1.3 TVT) than the 7 PM (0.6). Even more bizarre is that it's not like a new show has taken its place. They are airing Savdhaan India.😕

That surprised me too. The 7 PM slot actually gets a little problematic for me. I preferred the 10 PM slot. And I don't know why they suddenly stopped airing in the 10 PM slot. And the show is merely a few weeks old! And they seem to air Savdhaan India like... all the time. 😕

LOL I guess that is Nikumb's room, that is why it's so funky looking😆...he has to express his artistic side and all😆

Oh you thought the chor-bazaar was a set-up? LOL no, I always figured it was Nikumb's test for her to take her out into the real world...a set-up would have been too much effort for a small exercise...waise bhi kaam bhi toh nikalwaana tha...they do need the ring for the play😆

It's likely the guy will turn out to be a fan only...cuz it's really funny how many times Yamini walks around on the streets and doesn't get recognized at all😆...even in the street in front of the haveli where they practice...it's so easy for her to walk around?😆
