It was 2 a.m early morning. Very carefully Shravan turned the key and let himself into the room.. Sachi was in bed, deep asleep. Shravan wanted to thank her for making his date with Tara so beautiful . He took off his jacket and knelt down beside Sachi and wanted to wake her up . But seeing her in deep slumber , he decided not to , He switched off the bedside lamp . The room was engulfed with darkness for an instance as his eyes took time to get adjusted . Gradually moonlight lit up the rooom through the light airy curtains of the window. Shravan once again looked at Sachi. The moonlight lit her face with a silver glow. Her long hair encircled her face and her hands were carelessly folded over the blanket . She looked pure and beautiful. Shravan could not take his eyes off her. He got up and sat on the bed beside her and adjusted a strand of hair which was on her forehead. He noticed the mark of dried tears on her cheeks and wondered why she was crying.
Suddenly he felt an urge to hold her very close and say "Thank YOU dear for giving me this wonderful night. "
He took out a single rose from his trouser pocket and quietly put it beside Sachis pillow .
He got up , undressed and lay down on his side of the bed . Soon he was deep alsleep.
Both of them have forgotten to make that row of little cusions in between .
