I am just wondering, had not for the war and their deaths, Uppandavas would have turned out to be the next generation Nakul sahdev in the company of the likes of Abhimanyu Ghatochkat, Iravan and even Babhruwahan

Yeah

Their being mentioned in team makes me think they didn't exist

What was the contribution of Nakul and Sahdev? ,

Lame reason: none of them had their fathers w/ them, and Subhadra and Hidimbi weren't the ones teaching them warfare. Abhimanyu was trained by Krishna and his clan, like Pradhyumna, Satyaki, et al. Ghatotkacha was born w/ rakshasha like powers. Uloopi had certain powers that enabled her to train both Iravana and Babruvahana.

The upa-Pandavas lived w/ Dhrishtadyumna, and so ended up training w/ them. And the Panchalas were really ordinary warriors who were arrow-fodder for Drona, Ashwatthama, Kripa and Karna in the war. Prativindya and his brothers weren't much superior

I don't think Panchals were ordinary warriors. They had defeated the Kaurav brothers during the Guru Dakshina war.

It was their association post which Pandavas removed their conceal and stepped in front of everyone else they were hiding after Lakshagriha

Panchal was the among the top royal families in Bharat in the same category as Kuruvanshis, Magadh etc.

Sahdev killed Shakuni. Aside he was very intelligent and could easily decipher the next move of the opponent. The five villages that the Pandavas asked for were shortlisted and decided by Sahdev, they were not any villages, these villages were all at very strategically important.

Nakul I have not much idea about the contribution

Uppandavas did survive the war but then neither did the face the front line Kaurav warriors nor did they have such huge weapons against them. I don't think these could be compared.

By the way did any important person die during the first ten days of the war? Or Bheeshm was the first Maharathi to be laid down?

Day 1, Shalya killed Uttar and Bheeshma killed Sveta

Day 2. Bhima killed the ruler of Kalinga

Day 4: Bhima started killing brothers of Duryodhan

Day 5: Bhurishrava killed all 10 of Satyaki's sons

Day 6: Drona killed Virata's yuvraj Sankha

Day 7: Iravana killed 5 of Shakuni's brothers, b4 himself getting slain by Alambusha. Ghatotkacha retaliated in fury and terrorized the Karuavas

Also, for the bulk of the first 10 days, leading action was seen by Bhima, Satyaki and Ghatotkacha on the Pandava side, and various brothers of Duryodhan as well as Bhagadatta on the Kaurava side

Nakul killed 3 of Karna's sons on day 18 - Chitrasena, Sushena and Satyasena.

Upapandavas - now that I've read - mainly fought w/ Duryodhan's brothers.

The Panchalas were superior to the Kauravas - no doubt about that. But in the war, the Kauravas had all the heavy hitters - Bheeshma, Drona, Kripa, Ashwatthama, Karna, Vrishasena, Shalya, Bhagadatta, Bhurishrava - and the Panchalas were not superior to them! Also keep in mind that there was no Pandava army, just the 5 brothers and their sons, since Indraprastha was still under Duryodhan, so the only armies that the Pandavas had was that of their inlaws - Panchala, Matsya, Chedi, Magadha, et al
