That rejection of Karna always gets me .🥺

I know that Draupadi made her own choice and I love her for it, but that later dialogues where the king and Drishtadhumnya validates the caste system prevalent at that time makes me cringe every time.

I always hope that he doesn't get up to try.😔

Karna himself made a lot of mistakes in his life, some ghastly even, but you know, favourites😊

Hidimbaa is really pretty hun, but I really didn't like how they whitened her skin in her human form, but chalo 80s tha kya karein ab!

I believe that she was fair in her human form. As text says that Kunti addressed her as beautiful as an apsara or goddess of forest when they first met. Also Kunti called her Fair Lady.

I always feel one thing while watching or reading Draupadi swayamvar.

Text says that all the kings and princes were adjusting their upper garments and ornaments to make themselves look more handsome to her. But when time came to string the bow, they fell down on ground and their ornaments were scattered on ground. And finally the ones who won her hand as well as her heart were not even present in their prince forms.

Shows well how she was, how her choice was.

She was not ordinary. Pandavas were not ordinary, too. They were one of the most well deserving match.

(I should admit here that I'm a great lover of Pandava-Panchali)

The unique relationship between Draupadi and her husbands is what makes her story so exceptional, and extraordinary.

In the epic Mahabharat, few women stand out as much as the character of Draupadi. She is an unpredictable and unwavering woman who possesses the austerity of a traditional Hindu wife, but at the same time pride personified!! Many see Draupadi as an early feminist because of her fearlessness in admonishing those who harmed her or her family. Draupadi existed in a time when a women's role was to serve her husband, to be docile and dominated by her husband and inlaws.

Draupadi is the woman with her own opinion and not the one to follow her husbands' authority timidly. She speaks for herself. She is conscious of her rights and doesn't falter to point a finger when she sees them violated. She protested when Yudhishtira staked and lost her at the dice game, while being disrobed by Dussasana and insulted by Duryodhana and Karna when all the elders of Hastinapura remained silent, she looked at them and questioned the royal court about moral rights and ethical points. Finally prayed for divine intervention, and protected by Krishna. I adore her characterization, her self-respect, and at times her selfless deeds for the sake of her husbands, to safeguard their honor, what not she did? A woman of substance in those ancient times.

Definitely Madhuri.

But sadly, she is much misunderstood and misrepresented by the current generation as well.

Understanding Draupadi is not an easy task to anyone, neither then, nor now Krishna.

Draupadi, the wife of the mighty pandava brothers was not a conventional wife, she was smart, bold and would often lead her husbands into action. She ,with her vivacity, challenged the conventional patriarchy with authority. That is her caliber.

Draupadi was beautiful, her beauty was so great that she delighted all of the human senses. It worked as her boon as well as a curse.

Her opinions were well respected and supported by her family due to her vast knowledge of many subjects. Unlike many would in her era, Draupadi was well educated. Having such a complete education would have given Draupadi a sense of confidence unfamiliar to most women. Her intellect and knowledge did not, however, hinder her ability to be a dutiful wife. Draupadi was a devoted wife, chaste , religious minded and adhering to duty.

Draupadi's husbands were the five of the best men of the generation, in terms of glamour, might and handsomeness; and apart from the incident at the dice game they did their best to protect her. They honored her and were eager to make her happy. Of course, the relationships she shared with them were not identical, each was special in their own way.

Draupadi is Possessed of ready wit and a clever tongue. Her ability at the debate is soon demonstrated when we see that her wit has saved her husbands from impending slavery. The pandavas are inclined to listen to her and frequently rely upon her for decision making.

Somehow I adore Draupadi and never like to stop praising her abilities and capabilities. 😊

I agree with everything you said.

But to me, Draupadi is always more human than say Radha or the Ashtabharya or Revathi, the latter Ksheera Sagara, and the former nine MahaLakshmi, so like Sita, they were perfect.

Is not Draupadi also considered as an incarnation of Sri Laxmi sometimes?
