This naag Lok story comes again in the end. I mean there are about 45 episodes of mahabharat Katha where they tell about missing bits and pieces of story. I saw that on epic channel. This mahabharat will end with bhishna death. Sorry for spoiling 🙂

Aww I have finals right now, but I'm glad we have a separate forum to discuss these shows. I was always wondering what IF discussions would have looked like if we got an opportunity to rewatch MB or Ramayan.

Anyway, happy to see all the familiar folks from the StarBharat and SPK forums.

Hey guys,

I have few Q’s reg Arjun and Subhadra. I shall be happy if someone could solve my doubts.

Q1. Whether Arjun and Subhadra were in love with each other or was it one sided love and that is why one of them forced the other to elope?

Q2. What was the age difference between them?

Q3. Why did Lord Krishna encourage his sister to fall in love with an already married man?

Q4. Why did Lord Krishna ask Arjun to make Subhadra and Draupadi meet? Why was it important for them to get along?

They knew each other from before, and Subhy had always liked him (by then, every girl in India wanted either Krishna or Arjun 😉) Arjun had taken her from the temple on top of the Raivata mountain, and he asked her permission before taking her on Krishna's chariot.

Q2. What was the age difference between them?

Arjun was 6months younger than Krishna. Krishna was 14 when he came to Mathura, Subhy was born after that. So it would be a minimum 15/16 years' difference.

Q3. Why did Lord Krishna encourage his sister to fall in love with an already married man?

Because he needed that alliance so as to keep Balram from supporting Duryodhana. And in those days, chalta tha na, Krishna himself had like 5/6 wives at that time.

Q4. Why did Lord Krishna ask Arjun to make Subhadra and Draupadi meet? Why was it important for them to get along?

Because for Abhimanyu to be an important part of the Pandava family Subhy had to stay in their capital.

Few more Q’s 😆

Q1. Why did Lord Krishna accept Gandhari’s curse?

Q2. Why he wanted Yadu lineage to end?

Q3. In today’s world, do we have anyone who belongs to Pandava lineage or Krishna lineage? I mean direct descendants of either of them..

Few more Q’s 😆

Q1. Why did Lord Krishna accept Gandhari’s curse?

He respected Gandhari like his Moms. Also, Gandhari was an ardent devotee of Lord Shiva and so was Krishna, so he didn't want her words to become false.

Q2. Why he wanted Yadu lineage to end?

The Yadu dynasty men were very hot-headed and arrogant. It was only the fear of Krishna and Balram that kept them down. Without both of them to hold them back, Krishna feared that the Yadavas would become worse than Asuras and nobody will be able to defeat/subjugate them.

Q3. In today’s world, do we have anyone who belongs to Pandava lineage or Krishna lineage? I mean direct descendants of either of them..

Not any that are known. Many Kings of medieval India claimed to be descendants of the Raghu, Kuru and Yadava dynasties but that was never proven. Farthest you can track up to a few generations after Vajra, Krishna's great-grandson.

However, Karna did have his adoptive parents to seek refuge with. Drona did teach him most of the stuff. He was a classmate of the Princes in Drona's gurukul. Drona only refused him the Brahmastra&etc, which in any case he gave only to Arjun and Ashwatthama, which were prizes for being his son, and the most dedicated student respectively.

Karna never showed that dedication to his Guru that Arjuna did (Karna later showed that dedication to Parashurama, so he got those from him).

He did not know his identity right up to the eve of the War. Also, Karna lost to Arjuna multiple times (in Draupadi's swayamvar as well as in the Virat war during Agyaatvaas), so it's not like he didn't get a fair chance.

@bold - these info are not correct.

I have confirmed some things recently regarding the topic we had discussed. Dronacharya rejected to take Karna as a student because he was a neither a kshatriya nor the son of a king. Karna then questioned him about Ashwatthama who was also Drona's disciple even though he was neither of the two but a brahmin's son. Drona could not answer anything because clearly he was very biased and Karna went away with his question. His only guru was Parshuram.

Also Karna did go to Draupadi's swayamvar but he was not allowed to compete and humiliated again for being a suta-putra by Draupadi herself. Were he allowed to compete, he would have surely won because he was capable enough to pierce through the eye of the fish.

I feel extremely sorry for Eklavya. Drona had no right to do that injustice. He should have depended on his own merit as a Guru and Arjuna's dedication as a disciple rather than doing this anyaya. Is this why the God (Krishna) himself asked Arjuna to strike off his head in the Kurukshetra war?...
