In response to Ali, well I have done some work on biofuels over the past months, and don't think that they will be a single solution. In fact, there is critical evidence suggesting that ethanol, the most common form of biofuels, is actually more damaging to the environment than biofuels. This is mainly due to resulting deforestation that occurs to free up additional land for crop production. Such a loss of forests have already led many environmentalists to publicly denounce biofuels as an eco-friendly resource. This is just for your information but you guys should go ahead and find out more about this on your own. The more you know, the more you can spread.
