If you are saving as a jpg and getting the white background, then just export it, png optimizer, and in transparency tab, areas that match this color, select white.

check page 1 for brushes.

as for the bkgrounds you can make anything into a bkground. Say you're looking on the web and you see a really nice pic of something...you can use it as a bkgournd on your siggy. You can also do a search on google saying "backgrounds" and alot of things will come up. You can click on google images to get more.
