Welcome to the Chiaroscuro.exe!

Your desktop’s been split in two. One side glows with radiant hope, the other lurks in moody mystery. You and your teammate will be deciding on a common movie/series/character/couple/fandom to work on and then twist it into a signature that screams either light or dark.

But wait, what even is “chiaroscuro”? It’s an artsy term that basically means “light-dark.” Think dramatic lighting, deep shadows, and that one Renaissance painting that looks like it’s lit by a single candle. It’s all about contrast. And now, it’s your aesthetic weapon.

Each duo must focus on the SAME chosen pictures but portray it through opposite emotional lenses one in a light, pastel, dreamy aesthetic (hope, warmth, serenity) and the other in a dark, moody, intense aesthetic (mystery, sorrow, rage)

One of you will create a dark colour aesthetic while the other creates a light colour aesthetic.

Every graphic work must clearly lean into either light or dark aesthetics. No in between.

The signature size should be 500W by 300H pixels.

You may use scenes, characters, couples, or fandom-based images real or fictional.

Your work should not have a copyright or any kind of watermark on it.

All signatures must be PMed to Leenaaa or Quantum-Dot with the subject field as “Chiaroscuro” on or before 25 September 2025, 23:59 IST.

Is crossover allowed? Can we pick characters from 2 different shows/movies?

Yup, as long as you both use the same picture(s). It helps a lot to make the contrast pop and juxtaposition more pronounced.

Anyways, here are mine -

1. Can we both work on the two images together or does it have to be one each?
2. Does the whole discussion have to happen on IF? Let's be honest, IF is slow. Can't we do the initial discussion about fandoms and characters elsewhere before returning to the discussion thread when we have something finalized?

Nah, one of you will make a dark signature while the other does the light one individually. So the total will be 2 signatures per team.
