did you close ps and re-open it if still not working trying restarting your laptop if still not working delete ps and download it again

Get your avi into a new document , size that which you want your animated siggy to be or in this case stack your avis into a new document.

Use text tool to type your text...remember to have dark color for your text.

Position your text above your avi , meditating the fact that when the letters will be rubbed off your avi is visible.

When you are happy with positioning , make a new layer , below the text layers and above the avi/avis.

Fill in this layer with a light color...here its white.

Now select the top most layer(which will be a text layer) and go to Layers<Merge Down.
Merge all layers till the white layer , so that now your text and the white color layer are one.
Now the text will be on the white layer , imposed on it.

Select "magic wand" and start deleting off those letters you want rubbed off.

Check if all letters are done and run your avi once to see...n your done.

If i'll get around i might write a tut with SC's...hope this atleast helps in basics.
