Yes, but the fact is Simran herself is not at home 24/7. She must be at home away from hospital, maybe 4-5 hours a day if that much. The rest of the day he spends writing his books I guess.

Writers typically work from their home. They usually show only morning and night scenes whenever they show Simran & Abhi's house so I'm assuming when Simran is away at the hospital he's doing his writing. Do you want him to be totally not involved in his household affairs even when it's their personal time?

Hi, I know I am digressing here but believe me, the so called developed countries are not too different when it comes to viewing women as far as career is concerned.. I feel India is much more forward in that respect, we have had a woman PM, many women CMs, people like Kiran Bedi, so many women engineers, etc... but I would love to see to see the day a woman becomes the president of US. Just an example..And yes, there is nothing wrong with men being involved with house hoold issues, especially Abhi who had turned his back to his family all these years.
