Yo guys and gals....

We have had....

1) dr. abhimany joshi

2) ms. neha and ms. radha joshi

3) ms. saakshi joshi....

Anyone have any thoughts on why? none of them are related as far as i know...and we do know mr.sinha seems to choose the names carefully, as in SIA is a compound of SI from SIMRAN and A from ABHIMANYU....

Perhaps there is nothing in it...but i was wondering and just thought I would bounce it of u peeps....

Wow. You have a good memory. So, Neha's last name was Joshi? I did not remember that part, though I did remember Abhimanyu Joshi:-) I read somewhere long ago that most of the last names he chooses, like Saxena, Mathur, Awasthi, etc. belong to the same caste as he does, or at least the caste that his name suggets. Not that he is being partial to any one caste or something but maybe he is on comfortable grounds choosing names he is familar with. Just my guess. Does Joshi fall in the same category as the above? I don't know. That was a good observation about Sia. The combination is surprising though as this name was given by Archana, not by Simran:-)!

yep, regarding SIA, someone came up withh it here, and it was mentioned in the program as well ( i think in Abu?)....

Joshi is, I'm quite sure, a Brahman surname....dunno whether it fits in with the other names and caste...

Oh, if Joshi is a Brahmin surname I am not sure that it fits in with the other names I mentioned. As far as I know the others are not Brahmin names. I maybe wrong of course:-) Hmm, looks like I missed the episode where they talk of Sia's name being a combination. That is possible, because I have missed a couple of episodes now and then.

Thanks for the info:-)

Well, Sinha mostly deals with either Kayathas or Brahmins of northern India: Be it Mathur, Sinha, Saxena or Joshi, (Manas) Awathi, (anjali) Sharma, (Anil) Shourie.

BTW, anyone remembers Dr Pranaya's, Kavitha's husband and Ananadi's husband's last name?

At the end, all are Indians. Though, he showed Simran's cousin marrying a non Indian girl who was older than her 😃
