I think this Madam White Snake is much closer to the mythology of Madam White Snake than the 2018 adaptation. I'm really enjoying this version of Madam White Snake. I think the last adaptation for Madam White Snake that is closest to the mythology was back in the 1990s or before that.

Chinese famous mythology about love is big on the forbidden love and separation scene.
Whether it is Madam White Snake or Cowherd and the Weaving Girl. A story of an immortal woman with a mortal man who broke the rules of Heaven and fell in love; had short lived romance, happiness and togetherness; then separated by rather a cruel twist of fate.

I must say though that Cowherd and the Weaving Girl is more popular. As it is not only a mythology in China, but has also spread to Japan, Korea, and Vietnam. In fact, the Japanese, Koreans, and Vietnamese also celebrate the double 7 days in their traditions. Whereas Madam White Snake it seems is only popular in China.

Let's see how this one is going to end; because actually there are several versions of the story of how different it ended.

^ I am watching it ... So far seen 9 Eps .. It's decent not as good as Ten Miles ... but actors and their love story isn't as consuming ... but Monk is keeping it interesting! ... What a dashing Monk .. 😛

@Yoddha ... Not sure when the show will air ... Love and Destiny is also listed on "watchlist" to be releasing towards the end of the year! ... Let's see when it comes out ... I think I'll watch it fosho ... Fantasy C-dramas are my cup of tea ... 😛
