Hello everyone!!! After all the trials and tribulations, I am finally here. I haven't finished the re-write per se but I'm almost done. Again, I haven't proof read enough times toh please kuch error ho toh batana. Thank you all so much for waiting so patiently all these months.
And this time.... I have two copies
. Back up ke liye bhi back-up. So zyaada se zyaada ek backdated saved copy hogi toh thoda bahot editing firse karna pade but anyway let's cut to the chase.
Here is a short re-cap of what had happened so far.
Re-cap
A woman is murdered in her house.
The ETF realizes that Sakshi hasn’t shown up for work that day. On the other hand, the CID team investigates the murder of the murder of the woman and her identity is revealed to be Sakshi. The commissioner is worried and suggests that he be present to break the news to the ETF team. Needless to say, the ETF is shocked when they discover that Sakshi is murdered and insist on investigating the case. However, as she was shot they were all suspects and the commissioner asked them to cooperate with the CID.
The CID interrogates the team and the first shak ki sui lands on Riya as she had a history of assaulting journalists. Arjun barges in and shuts down the interrogation. Later, Riya shares that they had been her college mates who were spreading rumours about her and her professor having an affair. The CID is confused and occasionally are weirded out by Arjun’s behavior.
Elsewhere, Michael receives news that Sonia has been killed which leaves him livid and writhing for revenge.
Arjun is getting impatient but eventually, the CID retrieves CCTV footage and pins him for murder. The ETF is temporarily suspended following public outrage. Arjun is undisturbed by the public arrest and confesses in the first round of questioning. The ETF team has a divided opinion with Rathore, Shree and Riya still on his side and the others against him. However, the CID officers sense something amiss as they weren’t able to prove a clear motive. Rathore decides to demand an internal query given the circumstances. He calls for a team meeting and eventually after a minor resistance by Liza, they all agree as it would be the fastest way of knowing what had actually happened.
Shree sneaks into Rathore’s house to request and eventually convince him to prove Arjun innocent on grounds of insanity with the help of his cousin who is a psychiatrist in the government hospital as a back-up option.
Riya goes to meet Arjun in the lock-up but he tells her the same thing. However, seeing her crying form he reminds her that paagal kutton ko puchkar ke paas nahi bithate. She seeks out her mentor, her old professor and shares the story hoping to prove him innocent.
DCP Chitrole arrives in the bureau and creates a ruckus which ends up with Arjun beating him and the DCP slapping more charges on him. The CID is now even more desperate to find some solid motive given the internal enquiry. At last, they find some financial discrepancies in Sakshi’s account which would at least call for further investigation instead of putting Arjun straight behind the bars.
The enquiry is scheduled and Riya is late. Agastya (her professor) starts the argument in Arjun’s favor and reveals that Sakshi was faking her whole identity. Riya arrives with proof, flooring the others. Pradyuman pipes in with the financial discrepancies and supports the argument. The commissioner receives a letter from the home minister stating that Arjun had been appointed by him and he was to be free of all charges.
And so the CID and the ETF are both roped into the investigation. Arjun finally answers the million dollar question of why he killed Sakshi. She had been copying some files from the ETF database and Arjun had decided to put an end to it. The others could not fathom why his first response was to kill her instead of arrest her but he argues citing lack of proof. Members of the press are called in and Ketan admits that Sakshi was actually Sonia and had blackmailed him to get the job. Further investigation reveals a burner phone in Sakshi’s letterbox. The data is decrypted. It contained blackmail material on the home minister’s son, the channel’s editor and a potential Arjun.
