Chapter 6:That was when Sameer realized Arjun was not angry but hurt.
Due to lack of further clues they decided to cross check their previous finding. The whole team along with Lisa went to the crime site. They reexamined the place thoroughly but the result was still the same.
Sameer saw Arjun was not participating in anything. He was just standing at one side and looking towards the sky. This did not go unnoticed by the others. But no one had the courage to talk to him after the morning incidents.
Riya saw him standing alone looking at the sky. She went to him and slipped her arms into his and held his hands firmly.
"Aapko yaad he hospital mein aapne mujhe Kya kaha tha?" Arjun raised his eyebrows in confusion and waited for her to continue.
"Yahi ki police officer banne se pahle aapne kasam khayi thi ki puri imandari se duty nibhayenge aur personal relations duty is beech nahi layenge. Mujhe pata hai mushkil hai, trust me mere liye bhi hai I know aapke jitna nahi but hai. Aap bas apni duty nibhayie aur dekhna anth mein jeet aapki hogi."
She left his hand and flashed her beautiful smile at him. And after thinking for sometime when he nodded her smile widened and she left from there. The crime site was an open area near a jungle and a cliff. The other team members were searching in the jungle and down in the cliff so he decided to examine the area by himself.
And what can leave Arjun Rawte's eyes. He found some necessary clues and with the evidence he had seen in the morning he was quick enough to connect the dots. And the criminal was in front of him.
He heard Sameer's call and went towards the others. There he found everyone frustrated and disappointed due to the absence of evidence. Sameer ordered everyone to pack up and leave for office.
Now every one was in the conference room. Arjun heard Sameer say " Kisiko kuch mila?"
Chotu: Sir pure jangal ko teen baar talash liya but nothing.
Shree: Sir call records bank details sab kuch check karliya. Dead end.
Ayesha: Sir victim ki family se puch tach ki ek hi cheez batayi.
Lisa: crime scene se bhi kuch nahi mila.
Sameer sighed and sat on his chair. Thinking what to do next. Then he heard Riya say something which surprised everyone
"Arjun, murder kisne kiya hai? Mujhe aise mat dekhiye I know aap ko subah hi kisi pe shak hua tha jo crime scene dekh kar yakin mein badal gayi!"
He looked at Riya as if telling her 'how did you know?' For which he received a winning grin from her. Now everyone looked at Arjun surprised and with lot of expectation.
He turned his chair around and slowly said about his doubts his findings and his path breaking theory. All were amazed to see his skills. Sameer and others were really happy that at least he was taking part in the case and their hope of mending their relationship with him increased. But every hope was broken soon.
When Sakshi questioned "Par Arjun how can you be so sure? Agar yeh galat hua toh. I mean clues hai but us se zyada toh tumhari estimations hai." Saying this she looked at him curiously. Again the past haunted him when he heard this question.
But this time he composed himself and turned his chair around and looked directly towards Sakshi and said " Issiliye maine kaha mujhe lagta hai. You don't need to believe it." Now he looked the others and said " Tum logo ko jo thik lage woh karo maine sirf apna point of view bataya sunna hai tho suno warna ignore karo."
Now his gaze was directed to Sameer "Sameer waise bhi tum chief ho, tumhara decision final hoga toh wahi karo jo tumhe sahi lagta ho. Mere baaton pe zyada gaur mat karo." Arjun's words were like dagger to his already crushed heart.
Saying this he left. Sakshi knew she had done a blunder she wanted to rectify it but she was late. The happiness which every one had few minutes ago vanished and guilt took its place.
They interrogated the suspect whom Arjun had highlighted and not so surprisingly found out that he was the actual culprit.
Later that evening they went to Raghu Sir's office to inform him about the case. After the meeting was over. Arjun went forward who till now standing at the back and asked him "Sir, maine aapse kuch dino pahle baat ki thi uska kya hua?" "Arjun maine kaha na thora waqt lagta hai maine baat ki hai please be patient."
Sameer who couldn't keep down his curiosity asked them what they were talking about. To which unexpectedly Arjun replied "Mere Transfer ke baare mein." Colour drained from everyone's face. Arjun saying this left. Raghu Sir looked at Riya and indicated her to leave.
In the car ;
Arjun was with Riya. Riya knew about his decision of transfer but she never restricted him. But she knew that she had very less time now as Arjun is frequently asking about transfer. Today the whole day she kept her distance from him to think about it nicely. She planned to do it after sometime but now she felt it was God's signal for her to do her work as soon as possible. She decided that she would execute everything in maximum two days.
Arjun saw her lost in thought. Whole day she was busy in her work and they did not talk much. And though he did not understand or did not want to acknowledge but he missed her throughout the day.
When they reached her house he called her which broke her thoughts. She smiled to him and was about to get down when Arjun held her hand.
"Pure din dekha tumhe Kya soch rahi ho itna?" "Aap ke liye surprise plan kar rahi hu jald hi pata chal jayega. Bye Good night." Saying this she ran to her house.
Arjun just smiled at her retreating figure and drove to his house.
In Raghu Sir's office;
He was in a very foul mood. He scouled looking at the team and anger was exuding out of him.
He looked at Sameer and started " Tumhe lagta hoga Arjun mera favourite hai toh main ussika side lunga." When Sameer tried to interrupt he stopped him and continued " Sahi lagta hai main ussika side lunga. Tumhe toh pata hi hoga ETF ke success rate ke peeche Arjun ka bohut bara haath hai. Aur main uska transfer nahi karwana chahta. Agar tum logo ki wajah se woh team chorna chahe toh isski kimat bhi tum hi chukaoge. Saying this he also left.
He left behind a guilt ridden team. Who was trying to rectify their mistakes. But as they say everything has a specific time and once it's gone then it's gone.
It was late night now. All went home and hoped that the new day would bring new happiness and with the night all the problems would vanish.
