Part-25

Ayesha came out of her home adjusting her bag on one shoulder and checking through her phone on the other hand while walking ahead to catch a cab for the school.

It was now her third day at school and everything was still hazy and mysterious around there ,that the whole ETF team was trying to get through.

Closing her phone she looked up to the street only to find Rathore's car standing at a corner with Rathore leaning on it patiently waiting.

"Rathore sir? Good morning."

She said, amused to which he straightened up smiling a little.

"Morning Ayesha.

Maine socha office jaane se pehle tumhe school drop kardun."

Ayesha's face broke into a small smile before spekaing up.

"Per hum ETF ki car me jayenge toh sabko pata nahi chal jaayega.?"

She pointed at the ETF sticker on the car.

"Mai school se thodi dur pehle drop kardunga."

Rathore suggested.

"Mujhe lagta hai hame risk nahi lena chahiye.

School me se kisine bhi dekh liya toh ab tak ka sara mehnat kharab ho jayega."

Rathore let out a sigh at her reply knowing she was right.

"Per apne apne raaste jaane se pehle hum coffee pee sakte hain."

She added quickly and watched his smile coming back on his face.

Rathore opened up the door of the car allowing her to get inside and drove to the nearest café.

"Shree , ye apne laptop me connect karo."

Rathore said forwarding his phone to him as soon as he entered the office.

Everyone else including Arjun looked up from the case files they were reading , while Shree connected the phone to laptop and played the video Rathore asked him to.

The video displayed 3 of the students bullying a girl ,randomly flicking her dress,hair while she cried begged them to let her go , until a teacher intervened and everyone moved out of the place.

"Ragging.?"

Sakshi looked surprised.

"Haan Sakshi, School me ragging chal rahi hai aur ye baat teachers ko bhi pata hai per koi action nahi le raha hai."

Rathore replied.

"Per sir ye video li kisne.?"

Chhotu enquired.

"Ayesha ne li hai . Ye student jiski ragging kar rahe hain usne khud Ayesha ko batayi thi ragging ki baat issliye Ayesha ne dusre teacher ko wahan bhej ke chupke se ye vvideo le liya.

Aur uss student ne ye bhi bataya hai ki ye 3 ladke school me drugs lete hain.

Uss ladki ne ye baat teacher ko batane ki koshish ki toh uske baad se ye teeno uske ragging kar rahe hain."

Rathore explained in distaste.

"School me bache ragging kar rahe hain , drugs le rahe hain aur school kuch kar nahi raha.?"

Riya sounded surprised.

"Ri ye unity school ke liye kuch naya nahi hai aur na hi ye school ka pehla case hai. Isse pehle bhi kuch cases registered hai school ke naam pe."

Shree started connecting his laptop to the projector.

"Kaise cases Shree.?"

Arjun enquired.

"Sir ragging ke.

School ke past records me ragging cases registered hai. Kuch bache ragging ki wajah se school chhod dete hain toh kuch case file karte hain per school inn mattes rafa dafa kar deta hai.

Ye ek extreme case hai 3 saal purana jahan ek 8th class ki student ne ragging ki wajah se school ke hostel me suicide karliya tha , jab parents ne school ke khilaf case file kiya tha toh school ka ye kehna tha ki vo student hostel me rehke padhai ni karna chahta tha per parents ki pressure ki wajah se usne suicide kiya tha."

Shree explained forwarding the file to Arjun.

'What.?"

Rathore looked at him in disbelief.

"haan sir aur jin ladkon ka naam FIR me tha maine unka background check kiya, 2 ke parents toh school ke sponser hai aur 2 bahut high profile family se belong karte hain.

Aur hairani ki baat ye hai ki vo 4 bache ab tak ussi school me padh rahe hain."

Shree finished.

"matlab 4 students ki wajah se kisine suicide kar li aur school ne koi bhi action ni liya.?"

Chhotu looked pissed.

"Aese school se ek kya 10 teacher bhi gayab ho jaaye toh bhi unko fark nahi padega. Vo 10 aur teacher le ayenge aur apna business chalu rakhenge."

Sakshi shook her head.

"Shree, Ashish ke dusre number ke call records se kya pata chala.?"

Arjun asked breaking his silence.

"Sir usme zyada kuch nahi mila. Vo number jis din Ashish gayab hua uss din se band hai ,aur usme sirf Neha matlab uski girlfriend aur family ki calls hi hai aur kuch friends ki.

Number band hone ke baad bhi usse kaafi calls aye the uski family aur Neha se.

Message record me bhi bas Neha ka message hai ."

Came shree's reply.

"Sir Ayesha keh rahi thi ki girls hostel ke warden pe usse doubt hai .warden ka kuch hath ho sakta hai vo teacher ke gayab hone ke picche aur vo math teacher jo bina wajah warden ko milta rehta hai vo bhi.

Per jab tak hame proof milenge tab tak kahin teacher ko kuch ho na jaye."

Riya voiced her concern.

"Nahi Riya hum aur proof ka wait ni karenge. Ye video clip aur student ki statement kaafi hai warrant nikal ne ke liye.

Hum ragging aur drugs ke bahane school me raid karenge.

Team get ready."

Rathore announced.

"Rathore mai nahi araha hun."

Arjun spoke up , grabbing everyone's attention.

"What.?"

Rathore looked at him in surprise.

"Tum kyun nahi chal rahe ho.?"

Sakshi asked him.

"Mujhe kuch confirm karna hai case ko leke. Issliye mai school ni araha hun."

Arjun answered Rathore, thus everyone else in the room kept mum.

"Kya confirm karna hai.?"

Rathore questioned.

"Vo mai abhi nahi bata sakta. Confirm hone ke baad bataunga."

Arjun clarified.

"tumhe pata nahi baar baar kyun yaad dilana padta hai Rawte ki tum ek team ka hissa ho , aur jo karna hai team ko batake karna padega.

Tum bina mujhe bataye koi action nahi le sakte Rawte , ye baat tum samajhte ho ya mai samjhaun.?"

"For your kind information SIR mai koi action nahi le raha hun aapko bina bataye. Mai bas kuch confirm karna chahta hun aur bina proof ke mai abhi yahan bolunga toh sabse pehle aap hi bolenge proof laane ke liye."

Arjun said sarcastically and walked away without waiting for Rathore's response.

Riya got up from her chair excusing herself and ran behind Arjun grabbing a file from her desk on the way.

"Ek min sir."

Arjun stopped on his track on hearing Riya's voice and turned around only to find her coming running towards him.

Riya on reaching near him took a second to steady her breathe then spoke up.

"Aapko Neha pe shaq hai na sir, aur aap abhi ussi ko investigate karne jaa rahe hain."

Arjun was surprised on hearing her words , even though he tried to hide it when she forwarded the file to him.

"Isme Neha ke family , friends,call,sms ,bank statement records hain ,aapke kaam ayenge."

"Tumne ye kab banaya.?"

Arjun asked taking the file from her and checking through it.

"Jis din hum panchghani gaye the uss din mujhe laga tha aapko Neha pe doubt hai , issliye shree ko bolke maine ye sab nikal diya tha just in case jarurat pade."

She answered and went back inside ,whereas Arjun kept standing there staring at the file and then at her retreating figure.

"shree , liza ko bula lo sabke drug test ke liye .

Tum aur sakshi liza ke sath sare samples collect karoge, teachers ke bhi."

Rathore ordered as the SUV reached near the school and everyone went in to action.

Rathore slammed a warrant order on the principal's table when his team spread out in the school for the search operation.

As the closed labs were searched they found the missing teacher in a semi-dead state with his hands, legs tied in ropes and was beaten mercilessly ,whereas the warden and the match teacher they had their doubts on tried to escape the scenario along with their another companion the school head peon.

Rathore tried to avoid ruckus since all the kids were still present inside but the escape plan of the culprits didn't help much , that ended up with the Math teacher grabbing a student threatening to stab a knife in his neck and one of his accomplices pointed a gun at Chhotu and the warden twisted Sakshi's hand taking her as a shield.

Riya came running after sending the injured teacher to the hospital in an ambulance , only to find Rathore pointing a gun at the Math teacher who stood facing him with the student in his possession and the knife was ready to slit the student's throat.

"Chaku niche karo."

Rathore said trying to calm the teacher down, knowing the others students were around and he can't take any action.

"Nahi. Mujhe yahan se jaane do officer."

The teacher shouted angrily.

Rathore looked down at the kid he had captured who kept crying uncontrollably and took a step back.

"Thik hai hum jaane denge tumhe, pehle bache ko chhodo."

"Nahi mai jaanta hun mai bache ko chhodunga toh tum log mujhe maar doge.

Agar mai marunga toh iss bache ko leke marunga."

"nahi. Koi kuch nahi karega tumhe."

Shree came running leaving the blood sample collecting task to Liza and Ayesha , and witnessed the tensed situation the whole team was in.

"Jab koi marr gaya tha tab tum log kahan the? Ab jab koi mara nahi hai toh tum sab agaye ho yahan raid karne.

Iss bache ki maut ki zimmedar mai nahi tum hoge."

The teacher chuckled, making Rathore stare at him confused.

Having no time to try to understand his words , Rathore lowered his gun since the teacher pressed the knife a little in to the kid's neck.

" Dekho tumhari jo bhi baat hai hum sunenge , koi kuch nahi karega tumhe yahan . Bas bache ko jaane do."

Rathore said in a calm voice this time but it was of no use.

"nahi officer ab toh bahut late ho chuka hai.

Mai jaanta hun iske baad mera yahan se bachke jaana namunkin hai."

The teacher pressed the knife more causing blood to ooze out of the kid's neck and Rathore clenched his fist.

He looked at Riya from his peripheral vision without uttering a word and Riya knew that look.

The look Rathore had trained her before and she knew what she needed to do.

Looking back she roamed her eyes around until they fell on Shree at a distance, thus she motioned him to guide the rest of the students inside quietly.

Shree quickly nodded stepping back to the teachers present around and asked them to take everyone in , while Riya passed a look at Chhotu and Sakshi who blinked their eyes at her in return.

Since the accomplices' attention were on the math teacher with panic written all over their faces , they failed to notice Riya taking out her gun and fired in the air.

The loud blare caused an instant irruption and the teacher distanced the knife from the kid's neck trying to look back ,when Rathore aimed the gun at him and since his whole body was being shielded by the kid , the only spot left was the head.

Rathore shot the man at point blank causing him to fall on the ground instantly and the kid came running to his side , while Chhotu pushed the peon's hand taking over his gun and Sakshi elbowed the warden quickly running away from her.

"Irresponsibility ki hadd hoti hai ACP Rathore.

Maine case shuru hone se pehle hi kaha tha school me koi bhi aggressive action nahi liya jaayega, per tumne aur tumhari team ne kisko pucchko school me goli chalayi.?"

The commissioner roared in the ETF office in the presence of all the officers , including Arjun who stood quietly near the table.

By the time Rathore and team were back to ETF office, Arjun had seen the news all the media houses were reporting at the school and shortly after the Commissioner barged in fury yelling over the results.

"Vo uss bache ko maarne wala tha sir."

Rathore reasoned calmly .

"Haan dekha maine. Kisine video shoot kiya tha pura scene aur abhi sare media wale wohi telecast kar rahe hain, per uss situation ko dusre tarike se handle kiya jaa sakta tha per nahi.

Tumne school me itne bachon ke samne ek teacher ko point blank pe goli maar di aur tumhari team ne isme tumhara sath diya.

Officer Riya tumhe gun criminals pe chalane ke liye di gayi hai na ki hawa me chalane ke liye."

The commissioner glared her who lowered her head , like her teammates.

"Criminal pe chalaya toh hai , phir chilla kyun rahe hain."

Sakshi muttered under her breathe with her head low, when the commissioner continued yelling.

"Aesi laparwahi mai ETF se umeed nahi rakhta.

Aur agar tum logon ko lagta hai ki koi bahut bada kaam kar diya hai sabne toh mai bata dun ye ETF ki failure hai.

Aur sabko iski explanation deni padegi."

Rathore sighed as if he already anticipated it ,and the Commissioner continued.

"Wese toh DGP sir mana kar rahe hain ye case ETF ko handle karne dene ke liye per mai ETF ko ek aur chance de raha hun ye case khatam karne ke liye.

Aur abhi se ACP Sameer Rathore , officer Riya , Sakshi aur Chandrakant iss case se bahar hain."

Everyone snapped their heads at the commissioner in surprise at his announcement , and then exchanged looks between each other except Arjun (Of course).

"case ki baaki ka investigation ETF ke rest officers karenge aur ACP Arjun usse lead karenge.

Am I clear.?"

The commissioner explained in details , before adding quickly.

"Aur inn 4 officers ke khilaf kya action liya jayega vo case solve hone ke baad pata chalega."

Chhotu lightly shook his head , then angled his head to Riya , Sakshi and Rathore who looked equally unbothered by the threat ,and the commissioner started leaving until Arjun spoke up breaking his silence.

"Sorry sir per ye nahi ho sakta."

The commissioner stopped on his track and turned to face Arjun , and so did others.

"Ye case adhe se zyada solve ho chuka hai aur ye kaam puri ETF team ne milke kiya hai , toh agar case pura solve hoga toh ETF team hi karegi."

Arjun added with a straight face.

"Kya ? ACP Arjun tum ye keh rahe ho ki 4 officers ke bina case solve ni ho sakta.?"

The commissioner eyed him incredulously.

"Baat case solve ho sakta hai ya nahi uski nahi hai, baat sahi aur galat ki hai.

Aur mujhe nahi lagta meri team ne kuch galat kiya hai Sir.

Hum police officers hain aur kisi civilian ki jaan bachane ke liye hum protocol ka wait nahi kar sakte.

Meri team ne thik yahi kiya."

Arjun replied.

"ACP Arjun."

The commissioner gave him a warning look daring him to speak further, but Arjun's facial expression never changed.

"Agar mai wahan hota toh mai bhi wahi karta jo meri team ne kiya hai, in fact ho sakta hai mai ek aur ko bhi goli maar deta.

Toh uss hisab se aapko puri team ke khilaf action lena chahiye.

Issliye ya toh puri ETF team baaki ka case solve karega ya phir aap case transfer kar sakte hain."

"Rawte."

Rathore looked at him as if he had lost his mind , meanwhile Chhotu's mouth fell open in shock, Shree ,Sakshi,Ayesha,Liza stared at him in disbelief ,and Riya couldn't blink her eyes away from him.

The commissioner gazed at him furiously and stormed out of the office leaving everyone unsettled.

Rathore closed his eyes in frustration and turned to Arjun to say something but he was gone inside his cabin much to his dismay.

Ayesha knocked on the door and went inside after hearing Rathore's answer who was sitting on his chair ,distressed.

Since the time Commissioner sir left everyone went silent with their chiefs in their respective cabins and her teammates trying to fathom the current situation and she knew the one who was most stressed was Rathore himself.

"Sir aap thik hain.?"

Ayesha asked , her voice laced with concern.

Rathore let out a heavy sigh keeping mum , thus she waited patiently.

"Rawte ko commissioner sir se aese baat nahi karni chahiye thi."

Rathore spoke after a few minutes of silence.

"Per mere khayal se Arjun sir ne jo kaha sahi kaha."

Ayesha said and Rathore looked at her in disbelief.

"Ayesha.

Thoda practically socho. Kya ho jaata agar hum 4 case me nahi rehte toh?

Jab maine goli chalayi tab mujhe pata tha aesa kuch hoga, hum chahe kitna bhi thik ho hame protocols follow karna hi padta hai.

Per Rawte ne jo kiya--- usse bhi rules pata hai , phir kyun.?"

Rathore groaned.

"Aapki baaton se lag raha hai jaise aap Arjun sir ki baaton se gussa nahi hain per unke liye concerned hai ki unke khilaf ab kaunsa action liya jayega."

Ayesha stated the fact with a small smile on her face, earning a blank look from Rathore.

"Mai koi concerned nahi hun kisike liye.

Aur Rawte ke against disciplinary action liya jayega mujhe mail aachuka hai already."

"Disciplinary action? Aur case ka kya.?"

Ayesha sounded curious.

"Vo ab tak final ni hua hai ki kya karna hai. Final hote hi commissioner sir bata denge."

"Toh ye pakka hai ki aap tabse Arjun sir ke liye tension le rahe hain."

Rathore opened his mouth to object her, but she beat him to it.

"Mujhe yakeen hai aap isme Arjun sir ki help jarur karenge."

Ayesha smiled at him before leaving , whereas Rathore sighed.

"Mujhe darr hai Ayesha sayad mai iss me kuch na kar paaun."

He murmured to himself closing his eyes.
