CHAPTER 3:
Sakshi was debating whether to open the door or not. After thinking sometime she opened the door. The woman looked at her and then her expression softened.
Sakshi: Aap koun?
Woman: Main hoom Rajshree Deshpande. Main "Naree Kalyan Sangstha" se ayi hoom.
Sakshi became a little amused.
Sakshi: Naree.. Kkk.. What?
Ms. Deshpande: Naree Kalyan Sangstha.. Aap ka naam?
Sakshi: Sakshi Anand. Samajh gyi. Par aap yaha!!
Ms. Deshpande: Aap mujhe andar nehi ane dengi?
Sakshi was not sure about that. What if she is just member of Sikandar's group? But one look at her motherly kind face she couldn't say no. She stepped aside and let her enter.
After closing the door she told her to seat and took a seat. Ms. Deshpande was checking out the house. She seems impressed. She turned to Sakshi and smiled.
Ms. Deshpande: I am impressed. Apne apne ghar ko bohot acche se sambhala. Sakshi couldn't help but felt a little proud.
Then her eyes fall on a photo of Arjun hanging in the wall.
Ms. Deshpande: Arre wah!! Apke pati bohoti handsome hai.
Sakshi became a little shocked at her direct assuming. She blushed at the thought of Arjun as her husband.
Sakshi: Actually yeh mere pati nehi hai. Woh main yaha unke ghar mein rehti hoom. As a paying guest. Yeh unka ghar hai. ACP Arjun Rawte.
Ms. Deshpande nodded thoughtfully. Sakshi decided to change the topic.
Sakshi: Aapne batya nehi ki aap yaha kiyu aye?
As if remembering the main point she smiled.
Ms. Deshpande: Haan. Main to bhool hi gyi. Main yaha ek inquary karne ayi hoom.
Sakshi: Kaisi inquary?
Ms. Deshpande wiped out the sweat from her forehead.
Ms. Deshpande: Batati hoom. Par ek glass pani milega?
Sakshi got up embarrassingly.
Sakshi: Sure. Sorry I forgot.
Ms. Deshpande: No. It's fine.
Sakshi went to the kitchen to fetch water. Just then her phone started ringing. As she was in the kitchen she didn't hear it ringing. Ms. Deshpande picked up the phone and checked the caller ID. It was showing Arjun. She smiled a little then put the phone on silent mood.
After a few minutes Sakshi came back with tea, samusa, nuggets and homemade cake. She placed the tray before her.
Ms. Deshpande: Arre maine to sirf pani manga tha. Apne itni takleef kiyu ki?
Sakshi: Arre iss mein takleef ki kya baat hai? Aap please kuch lijye na!! Aur aap please mujhe tum kahye. Main aapse bohot choti hoom.
Ms. Deshpande started eating. Whole time Sakshi was thinking about her sudden appearance. In between she asked again about the reason behind this visit. She put her cup aside and became serious.
Ms. Deshpande: Ya about that. I am here for a survey. Aaj haamre desh mein na jane kitne mahilay purushoke attyachar she rahi hai. Koi awaj uthati hai to koi chup chap sab seh leti hai. Hamari NGO unn ladkiyo ke lye kaam kar rahi hai. Haam ghar ghar mein jakar unn abla nariyo ke raksha kar rahe hai.
Sakshi was hearing all this with open mouth. Then Ms. Deshpande looked directly in her eyes.
Ms. Deshpande: Kya yeh Arjun shadishuda hai?
Sakshi couldn't read her eyes. She couldn't understand what she was trying to say. She nodded no. Ms. Deshpande nodded.
Ms. Deshpande: So, this Arjun Rawte. He ever tried to do something bad with you?
Sakshi sat there with open mouth. Her brain was trying to register what she was saying.
Ms. Deshpande: Dekhye aap mujhe bata sakte hai. Haam turant action lenge. Hamare NGO bohot powerful hai. Woh Arjun Rawte tumhara kuch nehi bigad pyega.
Sakshi came to the reality and to her horror she realized where was matter going.
Sakshi: Arre nehi nehi. Aap jaisa soch rahi hai waisa kuch bhi nehi hai. Arjun bilkul bhi aisa nehi hai.
Ms. Deshpande placed her hand over Sakshi's and gave it a gentle squeeze.
Ms. Deshpande: Dekho Sakshi tum bilkul bhi mat darna. Main tumhare sath hoom. Haam sab tumhare sath hai. Tum bilkul bhi mat darna.
Sakshi shrugged her hand from hers.
Sakshi: Dekhye aap galat samajh rahe hai. Aisa kuch bhi nehi hai. Arjun bohoti accha aur sharef ladka hai.
When Ms. Deshpande didn't seem convinced she blurted out the truth.
Sakshi: And and I love him.
Ms. Deshpande's mouth became the shape of a perfect "O" . Sakshi blushed hard under her gaze.
Ms. Deshpande: Hmm. He knows?
Sakshi: May be. And I think he loves me too. But abhi tak saaf kuch bhi nehi batya.
Ms. Deshpande nodded. Sakshi was sitting there with lower head. If she would looked up she would've saw the mischievous glint that was playing in her eyes.

Arjun was in his cabin thinking about Sakshi. About her life. It takes to gut to stand up against the wrong. He rubbed his hand over his face. If Sikandar's men are still there they will surely try to find and harm Sakshi. He will have to make sure her safety. He kept the file aside. He wouldn't able to concentrate anymore. He pulled out his phone from his back pocket and called Sakshi just to check if she is all right or not. But she didn't pick it up. Assuming she is not near the phone he tried few minutes later. Still no answer. Next one hour he tried her phoen. But she didn't answer. Arjun started sweating. He waited for another hour. The he couldn't seat back any more. He ran to Sameer's cabin. Seeing him in that state Sameer got up from his chair.
Sameer: Kya hua Arjun? Tu iss halat mein. Kya hua?
Arjun: Sam.. Sakshi apna phone utha nehi rahi hai Sam.
Sameer: To koi bat nehi. Busy hogi.
Arjun sighed in frustration.
Arjun: Sam main pechle dhai ghante se try kar raha hoom. No answer.
That caught Sameer's attention.
Sameer: What!! Abhi ghar chal.
Together they went to Arjun's house. They parked the car in the parking lot and ran to the house. The door was closed. Arjun didn't bother to ring the bell. Rather he broke the door. The scene he saw inside shook him to the core.
