CHAPTER 5:

In the hotel Shree and Chotu took one room. Liza, Aisha and Riya took another room and Arjun and Sameer took two different rooms.

Sameer was in his room. Thinking about today. His thought slowly went to Sakshi. Her expression and fear wasn't unnoticed by him.

Sameer: Jaroor Sakshi uss rapist ke bade mein kuch janti hai. Aaj usske harkato se to yahi laga. Likin woh itni asanise apna muh nehi kholegi. Hmmm. Kya pata shayed Arjun se baat kare. Mujhe iss bare mein Arjun se baat karna hoga.

Saying that he got up from his bed and went to Arjun's room. But Arjun was not there. He was about to return when he noticed that his duffel bag was also missing. Sameer frowned.

Sameer (in mind): Duffel bag bhi nehi hai. Kaha chala gya.

He went down and enquired to the manager about Arjun.

Sameer: Manager sahab yaha hamare saath Arjun Rawte ne bhi check in kya tha. But woh apne kamre mein nehi hai. Aapko pata hai iss bade mein?

Manager: Ohh. Sorry sir. I forgot to inform you. Mr. Rawte kuch ghante pehle yaha se check out karke chale gye. Aapko yeh note dene ke lye kaha hai.

Sameer took the note and thanked him. He went back to his room. Once in the room he opened the note Arjun left for him.

Sameer,

Aaj tak main bohot selfish tha. Hamesha apne dukh apne dard ke bade mein socha. Mujhe lagta tha ki main iss dunya ka sabse bad kismat insaan hoom. But I was wrong. Apne gurur mein akar maine dusro ka dard dekhna chod dya. Apne gham mein yeh bhool gya ki meri wajase dusro ko kitna takleef poucha. Aaj meri ankh khul gya hai. Main Sakshi ke paas jaa raha hoom. Usse meri jarorat hai. Aur mujhe usski. Main kaal tujhe call karunga. Take care. Bye.

Sameer smiled reading the letter. But he was very happy for his friend.

Aisha, Liza and Riya were gossiping while they heard a light knock in the door. Aisha went to open it. After thinking a little he opened the door. It was Shree and Chotu.

Seeing them Liza and Rita sat up in the bed. They entered. Both of them had grim expression. They came and sat on the sofa. Aisha closed the door and joined the girls. Shree and Chotu sat on the sofa.

Riya: Kya baat hai Shree? Tumdono iss waqt?

Shree: Kya tumlogo ko pata hai ki Sakshi ji shadishuda hai?

Aisha: Haan. Haamne unki mang mein sindoor aur gale mein mangal sutra dekha hai.

Shree: Tumdono ko yeh pata hai ki unke pati koun hai?

Liza: Ohho Specky Sen yeh tum kiss bat ko lekar baith gye? Aab isse hame kya lena dena.

Shree: Lena dena hai. Unka pati ka naam hai Arjun Rawte.

All the girls stared at him with wide eyes. Aisha was the one who came to sense first.

Aisha: Yeh tum kya keh rahi ho?

Chotu: Shree jo bhi keh raha hai saab sach hai.

Riya: But tumlogo ko pata kaise chala?

Shree scratched his neck embarassingly.

Shree: Woh aaj Sakshi ji se milke mujhe bohot accha laga. Unki himmat aur determination mujhe pasand aya. Isslye unke bare mein thoda janneki koushish kar rahi thi. Jaab woh apne ghar chali gyi to main ek file lene unke cabin mein gya. Tab bhi mera najar unke table pe padi. Waha desk pe unke nam tha. IPS Sakshi Rawte. Mujhe shak hua. Phir maine database hack kya toh pata chala ki she is married. Six months pehle hua hai yeh shadi. Pati ka naam ACP Arjun Rawte.

All turned to stare at Riya who was looking outside through the window. Her face was poker. What was she thinking was a total mystery.

After finishing dinner Arjun helped Sakshi cleaning the dishes. He could clearly see the black shadows under her eyes. After cleaning everything they went to the living room. Sakshi sat on the sofa and put her hands around her legs. Astonishing her more Arjun sat close beside her. His body was touching hers. A shiver went through her body. Arjun noticed and smirked. But he stayed quite. Some things needed to get cleared first.

Arjun: Maine tumhe shadi ke din hi saab kuch clearly bata dia tha. Phir main tumhe chodkar chala gya. Six months I gave you nothing but pain. But now I want to come back to your life. If you want nothing to do with me I will understand. But do you think? Can you give me a chance?

Sakshi stared at him for sometimes. Then she lowered her gaze.

Sakshi: Main to hamesha se hi aapki hi thi Arjun.

Arjun smiled hearing this. He thought for a moment then dragged her up.

Arjun: Uttho. Hame jana hai.

It was almost 10 pm.

Sakshi: Arjun aab hame kaha jana hai?

Arjun: Tum sawal bohot karti hoom. Chalo ready ho jao.

He took her to the room. Then he opened the wardrobe and brought out the same lahenga she wore in the day of their marriage. He also brought out some jewelry box.

Sakshi: Arjun...

Arjun put a finger on her lips. Sakshi shivered at the mere touch.

Arjun: Trust me. Ready ho jao.

He came out from his room and made a phone call. After sometime Sakshi came out. As she got ready in home she applied minimal makeup. But she was looking so beautiful Arjun forgot everything and kept staring at her.

Sakshi came closer and waved her hands in front of his face. He came out of trance. He took her by hand went out of the house. He closed the door behind him.

He went to his car and opened the passenger seat for her. She got in then Arjun sat on the driver's seat and started the car. Arjun drove in silence. Though Sakshi had a good idea of what was going on in his mind. She was afraid. Afraid it might be dream. Afraid Arjun could leave her any moment. Afraid her happiness won't last long.

Arjun sensed her mind but stayed quite. It was not her fault that she was thinking this kind of thought. She lost her everything. Even her husband left her just after the day of marriage. It's expected. He will have to work hard to make her believe. He smiled and drove to the destination..
