Chapter-13

Riya had been watching all this with moist eyes. She remebered the old times.

FLASHBACK

Another morning in the mansion but was not similar to all the morning. Today two of the members of the family were leaving and taking a new step in their lives . a girl clad in simple pajamas came running into the kitchen and hugged a lady from behind

Girl; sorry aayi aap mujhse naaraaz hona.. i am really sorry .. aaj nikalna hai na to issiliye friends ke saath thi..

Lady;adhi raat tak..

The girl made a puppy face.

Lady: acha chal .. naasta karle.. vaise bhi flight dupaher ke baad hai ..

Girl; aayi sahebzaade kahan hai aapke

Lady; jahan iss waqt unhe hona chahiye.. bedroom me soye huve

Girl;no worries aayi mai hoon na.. abhi jaga ke laaati hoon usse

With this the girl ran upstairs and entered the room. the room was huge. All four walls, bed and dressing room all were white and the room was neatly arranged. There were some pics of his childhood. She straight went to him and called out his name loudly "ARJUN".

Arjun(all sleepy); RIYA ab tujhe kya huva.

Riya ,arjun's childhood friend. They went in the same school then same college and so they are very much attached to each other. Arjun knew riya well he knew how sensitive she was and riya also understood arjun well. She was able to guess things even before he voiced them out. they cared for each other and could do anything for each other when they needed.

Riya; mujhe kya hoga.. tumhe pata bhi hai ki subah hogayi

Arjun; to subah hi toh huvi haina kounsi bhaaad aagayi... jaana yaar .. subah subah tang mat kar

Riya; to matlab tu nahi uthega

Arjun kept a pillow on his head stating "no".

Riya; to theek hai mai baba ko bulati hoon phir vo aur tu jaane. And turned to leave

Arjun; ruk.. uthta hoon.. unhe bulane ki zarrorat nahi hai.. and he sat straight on the bed

Riya; good boy.. jaldi ready hoke aav... I am waiting for you down stairs.

Arjun frowned and stood, took a bath and wore his formal chlothes.

Same day After lunch

Arjun came downstairs where riya and his aayi were waiting for him. his aayi told the driver to keep their luggage in the car. A maid servant came with the arti. She gave it to aayi and left and aayi did their aarti and gradually became emotional.

Aayi; aap dono humse itna door ja rahe hai .

Arjun (interupting her); comon aayi kounsa hum vahi rehne jaarahe hai .. only 11 months sirf gyaarah mahine ki hi to baat hai.. then we will be back

Aayi; i know you will be back .. lekin .. humare liye ye gyaara (11) mahine bi bhaari padenge

Riya; aayi tu chinta mat kar .. hum hamesha tujhe phone kiya karenge ...relax..

Aayi;theek.. lekin aap log apna aur ek dosre ka khayal rakhenge promise

Riya; haan aayi hum samaj gaye.. aur tu bhi tension mat lena varna tabiyat kharab hojaye gi upar se baba bhi yaha nahi hai..

Arjun;aacha hi haina ki vo yaha nahi hai.. varna hum ja nahi rahe hote.. aur aayi unhe batana mat .. vapas aake mai khud bata donga aap jante hona unhe mera...

Aayi; haan beta koi baat nahi.. phir bhi mujhe ye sab aacha nahi lag raha

Riya; common aayi.. aap humare liye ye sab kar rahe ho .. chinta mat kariye aayi sab theek hoga

Arjun; riya chalte hain varna late hojaye ga

Riya; haan .. bas do minute

Riya went to the mandir built inside and prayed. When she turned she saw aayi standing behind.and tears filled her eyes.

Riya; aayi.. and she hugged her tight and sobbing

Aayi; kya huva tu ro kyun rahi hai..

Riya ( breaking the hug) ; thank you

Aayi ; kisliye

Riya; aayi tune aur baba ne mere liye bohat kuch kiya hai.. jab mujhe maa baap ki zarrooorat thi tab aap hi dono ne mere sar pe haat rakha aur aaj mere sapne bhi aap ki vajah se poore hone jaarahe hai.. thank you aayi

Aayi; kaise baatein kar rahi hai riya. Tu meri beti hai.. samjhe ab aage se kabhi aise baatein mat karna..chal ab ,. Arjun tera gadhi me wait kar raha hai

Riya boarded the car and left for the airport thinking about her real parents.

She was the daughter of Mr.rakesh roy kapoor who was the partner of arjun father.they were childhood friends and they both started their buisseness at the same time and gradually became partners too.they together gave their buissness wings to fly high and raised a huge empire and became one of the biggest buisness tycoons of india. when riya was five, Her parents died in a car crash. That period was very difficult for riya, she was very young to accept the harsh reality that nature had snatched her parents from her. Mr. and mrs. Rawte did their best to lighten her mood and bring her back to her own self. They adopted her and from then on she lived with them and finally after many attempts from rawtes and arjun too she was able to make a come back in her life that too after many months. they treated her as their own daughter. She was so attached to them that she began to call them aayi and baba and continues to call them.

Their long tiring journey ended up in front of a big gate with a board at the top stating "POLICE ACADEMY DEHRADUN"(its fictional). They moved inside, they could see men in uniform practicing in the ground which was running parallel to them. until they stopped near the administrative block . they both went down the car arranged which was arranged for them by arjun's elder brother. They walked through the corridoors of the building. There were several bulletin boards where the achievement of the academy was recorded. They straightly headed towards the hall where they were supposed to report.

After all the intructions and alloting of rooms all the caddets began to disperse . there was complete jumbling. They held each others hand and began moving slowly when riya slipped over something and arjun caught her.

Arjun; kya kar rahi ho riya. aaraam se

Riya; kuch tha vaha

Arjun; kaha

Riya; ruk

Riya bent down and managed to get the thing she stumbled on. It was a file. Once they were out riya showed it to arjun.

Riya; arjun; iss pe slip hogayi thi meri

Arjun; file..kis ki hai

Riya; mujhe kya pata

Arjun; to dekh na

Riya opened the file to see an id attached to one of its side. And she came to know that the file belonged to some sameer dhamsingh rathore'

Riya; kisi sameer ki file hai..and its important isske saare documents issi me hai

Arjun; matlab lautani padegi

Riya; offcource lautani padegi.. par dhoondege kahan iss sam ko

Arjun(knitting his brows); sam

Riya; ok sameer.. sameer dhamsingh rathore .. fine

Arjun;hmm.. hume ye file hall me mile hai so that means ki

Riya; ki vo humare hi batch ka hai..batchmate she said witha smile.

Arjun; hum inquiry counter pe jaake pata lagate hai iss sameer ka room no. kya hai.. vahi jaaake lautate hai

Riya nodded in agreement and they both left for inquiry counter and from there to sameer's room. coincidently it happened to be opposite to arjun's room.they knocked the door only to answered by a tough voice. Sameer was unpacking his bag and alerted when he saw them.

Arjun; sameer rathore

Sameer; yes,

Arjun(pointing to the file in riya's hand); i think you left your file in the hall

Sameer; oh yes! I was just finding it thank you so much mr...(realising that he does not even know his name)

Arjun; arjun.. arjun rawte.and this is riya.. riya roy

Sameer; well thanks arjun and riya and he shook hands with them.

Riya; our pleasure and she handed him the file.

After this they met several times and gossiped for several hours and gradually they became friends-best friends indeed ...no doubt after this memorable things came in their lives but this first meet of theirs remains in their heart still fresh and full of life.

riya came out of her trance as soon as she felt cold against her skin, she was standing with arms across her chest and her head resting on the balcony door, as soon she had gone down the memory lane her hand had drapped down slowly touching the metal knob of the door. Coming out of her past , she saw two important persons of her life pathcing up and leaving behind the regrets of past. She quickly composed herself and said; mai bhi to hoon.

They both looked up and She ran towards them held them in a hug. They three of them were back as friends and all of them were missing the fourth member of their group. Their roshni.

Riya (breaking the hug); chalo dinner karlo.

All of them ate their dinner silently but this was not awkward it was different. This silence was announcing aloud that three ways have combined again as they had before. After dinner sameer left and riya left for their respective homes and arjun was again left alone.-no now he wasnt alone. He realised the presence of his princess in the house. He went to her room and saw her sleeping and hugging her teddy tight. He sat beside her and pecked her forehead slowly not wanting her sleep to be disturbed. He felt relaxed with her princess beside her and slowly he too drifted to sleep.
