Part 36 B
-----------------------------------------------------------
Away from all this, he was sitting in a small fishing boat at Mandwa Jetty looking at the Gateway of India from his old pair of binoculars thinking about many things
at a time. This was the place he used to spend hours sitting and looking at Gateway of India in his teenage years and dreaming to make it big there. There was a wicked
smile on his face. He thought he had actually made it big, but in reality, he was inching closer to his doom.
Many things flashed in front of his eyes.
No one is born evil, nor was he. He was born in a poor fisherman's family. He was the only child and was pampered by his parents. They named him Vijay. Although they
were poor, they still tried their best to give their son all they could afford. They just wanted him to continue in their family profession of fishing but Vijay wanted
more. He wanted to try his luck in Mumbai.
Vijay was determined to go there and his parents had to give in to his demands. But what he didn't know that in reality, the city of dreams, Mumbai, was very cruel. He
was one of those unfortunate young men who fall prey to greed and lust for power and don't even realise that it is taking them closer to their destruction.
Very soon he was trapped in the world of illusions and got involved in criminal activities for quick money, from pick-pocketing to small time drug dealings. What he
thought was fun and timepass giving his easy money was actually taking him to the darker alleys of criminal world and he never knew that one day he will be the king of
this world.
His parents warned him when they realised what their son was up to, but he didn't pay any heed to them. The poor couple didn't have a choice but to watch their son
turning into a monster. Their dream of having a happy and cozy family with their son had shattered and they passed away hoping that their son would realise the truth
one day and will come back to them, but it never happened.
He started working for a gang in Mumbai, was involved in gang wars, contract murders, got lucky in few encounter attacks by police. Very soon, a simple village boy
Vijay Nakhwa became Viju Sharpshooter and became a headache for Mumbai Police.
And one day, he killed his own boss to become the boss himself. But he knew what he did to his boss, can happen to him too. And he knew he cannot trust anyone in the
criminal world. And to keep his position intact, he first eliminated his boss's loyal members and finished the old gang. He had a plan in his mind, but for that, he
needed someone whom he could trust for lifetime. That is when he met Pathan Lala. Pathan was another unfortunate and disillusioned young man.
Pathan was an orphan and was raised in an orphanage. As a child, he was a victim of rebuke by orphanage warden and this made him a rebel and he ran away from
orphanage. He was exceptionally sharp and was in need of money and Viju took advantage of this.
Viju offered Pathan an equal partnership in his business and kept him in front and recruited new gang members, which were similar greedy young bys who were ready to do anything for quick money.
Later Viju planned his own fake death and as per police records, Vijay Nakhwa was dead and the gang was being run by Pathan. Vijay returned back to Mandwa and assumed the identity of Sikandar and put up at a secluded beach which was known as a haunted beach among locals and no one visited it. He also changed his look to scare people so that no one ever came close to him.
He was in touch with Pathan Lala instructing him on gang operations. Pathan too obeyed all the orders from his boss and never betrayed him because he knew Viju was
ruthless and would not hesitate to eliminate him if he found anything wrong. He knew, Viju, now known as Sikandar, had contacts in police department, who helped him
prove him dead as per records and can use them anytime.
No one from his gang or his contacts from police department ever interfered in his business. His activities were going on in full swing when he suffered a major
setback.
A new police officer had created a mess for him. He challenged his rule. Even Pathan found it difficult to deal with him and in one of the shootout, this new officer
shot Pathan Lala in leg and left him handicapped for life. This enraged Sikandar. He gathered all the information about this new man.
Arjun Suryakant Rawte was the name of the man who dared to stop Sikandar. He personally threatened Arjun, but Arjun did not take him seriously. Sikandar was in fact happy that Arjun chose to ignore his threat which made things easier for him.
His men kept a watch on Arjun on that fateful day and kept him informed about his whereabouts. Of course he knew that there was only one man other than in Arjun's
life, who would do anything to help Arjun, Sameer Rathod. He knew Sameer would try to help Arjun personally and this was the reason, he did not forget to tell his men
to puncture Sameer Rathod's vehicle. And things happened as he wanted them to.
And when he was about to kill his enemy, he saw his weakness, his wife and chose to kill her in front of Arjun and leave him alive to live in fear and resentment. And
later eliminated Joint Commisioner Kapoor too.
But did not forget him as he knew Arjun Rawte was now a wounded tiger and was even more dangerous. For all these years was keeping a track of the happenings in his
enemies' life to make sure that when his big task happens, no one interferes. He had some things to worry and some things that he thought he can take advantage of. He
was worried that his biggest enemy was returning back to his normal life. His informers told him that he was back to his home and close to his best friend.
He was also aware that his enemy's best friend and his second biggest enemy, had recently got married and his wife was a simple girl next door, just like Roshni. He
knew she would be his bait in case these two officers again try to mess with him.
For executing his most risky task he was totally relying on his most loyal accomplice Pathan Lala. Though he had doubts about new people in gang gaining prominence
but he chose to leave it to Pathan because it was more risky for him to come in front.
Things were going as he wanted them to. Pathan kept him updated about the happenings.
