Prologue
A stormy night. A man walking alone lost in his thoughts. Suddenly a van comes by, stops and within seconds he's being dragged inside. The van starts and vanishes in thin air. No one saw anything.
The next day, a girl is in a temple lamenting on her. Just lost her job and she has siblings and parents under her care. "God, what do I do now? How do I face my family?" she was crying, when she felt a hand on her shoulder. She turned to look who it was amidst the tears in her eyes.
"Reetu?" she asked after a few seconds when she had wiped her tears.
"Arre Arti, kya hua tumhein?" Reetu asked.
Reetu bent down and sat next to Arti with an encouraging smile on her face. Arti needed no further permission, and she crashed onto Reetu, bearing her soul out.
Two days later, Arti was happily walking with a packet in her hands. She had obtained a job thanks to her friend Reetu, all she had to do was transfer packets to clients. Easy job. Well paid also. And well beggars couldn't be choosers, so she had to do it. She took out the address from her bag, and stopping near a 20-storey building, she cross-checked if she had reached at her destination.
She went inside, and pressed the lift button. The package should be delivered to Mrs Shireen on 5th floor. She got in the lift, and was humming her favorite song. She got out on 5th floor, and walked till the Appartment No 501. She knocked and waited. She heard a few noises inside, and finally someone opened the door.
Stressed. Swollen eyes. Panicking. Those four words entered Arti's mind on seeing the lady in front of her.
"Mrs Shireen?" she asked gently.
The lady didn't say anything, but just nodded her head. Arti smiled, took out the parcel from her bag, and gave it to the lady. The lady was staring with horror at the package, Arti wondered why, but before she could say anything, the door was opened widely. A rugged looking man came out and grabbed her hand. He was staring at her as if she was a criminal. Arti was scared, and tried to release her, but that hold wasn't about to loosen.
He dragged her inside, and shouted angrily, "Where is he?"
"He?" she asked completely confused. She turned to stare at Mrs Shireen, only then she saw there were further people looking at her with questioning eyes.
"Oh god, kahan phas gayi?" Arti thought. Meanwhile that rugged man had released her, snatched the parcel from her hands. But nothing could have prepared her for what was in it, and she fainted as soon as her eyes fell on it.
so how was it?
