"But unless we know their identities, we can't proceed at all," Sakshi said.
"Hain, I wonder why no one is filing any missing case?" Aisha added.
"Something isn't right," Arjun mumbled to himself, and then went to sit on his chair.
"Aisha did the divers find anything else?" Arjun asked.
"Nahin Sir, it seems that the killer removed all their belongings and threw them in the lake!" Aisha said.
"So except that "OM" mark, we don't have anything on those bodies," Arjun added.
"Sir, we also have another mark, the girl actually had a tattoo on her upper back on right side. It was a red rose with thorns," Liza suddenly remembered.
Arjun glared at Liza for telling him this so late, "Liza, can we have a picture of that tattoo?" and then turning to Aisha and Chotu, "go and check every places where tattoos are made, who knows we might just get her name!"
Liza, Aisha and Chotu went away. Arjun was still thinking about the case, when he remembered about tyres, "Shree what happened to those tyres? Anything on that?"
"I'm still working on it," Shree said and went away too.
Arjun picked up his keys and also started to leave, when he saw that Sakshi was still here waiting for him.
"Call me if we get any clues. I have to check something else..." Arjun said and went away.
One hour later
Arjun was back on the crime site, he had decided to check everywhere again. He walked round the shore of the lake and checked everywhere for something which might be useful. He had walked for some one hour, when he saw something floating in the water, held by a fallen branch. He jumped and swam till there, and disentangling it, he came back on the shore. It was a plastic bag, containing some papers. Unfortunately all the papers were wet, and most all characters had faded completely. But still hoping that it may lead him somewhere, Arjun took it back with him.
It was almost night, when he reached back to the office. He gave those papers to Shree and asked him to try and see if anything could be retrieved on it. He went to the conference room and called for everyone, for any status.
Unfortunately Aisha and Chotu hadn't identified any girl with that tattoo yet, while Shree had successfully identified the tyres' marks.
"Sir, those tyres are a special type of tyres. They are designed for provide excellent grip in the dry, and used on fast cars!"
"So assuming that the dead man's car is missing, we can assume either that this man was a racer, or loved speed!" Arjun said.
"And he must be rich, because such tyres cost a lot of money!" Shree added.
"Ok so we can start from this. Sakshi and Shree you both go and see if any person who participates in any car racing is missing? If not, do check with in the police records, for anyone with that type of passion, who had been ticketed for speeding!" Arjun instructed.
"Yes Sir," both said and went away.
The next day
All have reached office, and looked very tired. They had all worked till late night, but till now haven't found anything. It was like looking for a needle in a haystack. After having given a status of their findings, which was nothing till now, they all went away for more investigations.
Aisha and Chotu asked each and every tattoo maker about the tattoo picture, but no one seemed to know anything about it. In the end they had to accept that maybe that girl had done the tattoo outside Mumbai.
Shree however was luckier. From the findings and questioning of people, they came to know that a famous sports car racer was not available. It had been pure luck that they found him. Since they had been looking for a missing person, they never took into consideration that this person may be on leave and all. So after questioning the last association known for organizing such racers, Shree and Sakshi were leaving when Sakshi's eyes fell on the pictures of last year race's winner. Since the body had swollen after so much time in the water, recognizing a person fully from his dead picture would have been impossible. But not the chain with an "OM" pendant in his neck. That wasn't something difficult to identify. Sakshi showed Shree the picture, and after looking for more information, they finally had the name and address of that man. It may be a futile chase, but they had to try.
Shree called Arjun to inform him about this, "Sir, we have a lead. His name is Raj Sinha. And he lives at Cuffe Parade in south Mumbai."
After one hour
The whole team reached that address, and they were looking at a big house. They opened the gate to get in, only to be stopped by the security guard. Chotu showed his ETF card, and they made their way to the house. They knocked and waited. After a few minutes, a young lady opened up the door.
"Ji Saheb, kya chahiye apko?" she asked.
"Hum kya iss ghar ke malik se mil sakte hein?" Arjun asked, while looking around.
"Saheb ghar pe nahin hein! Woh to bahar gaye hein!" the girl said.
"Kya koi aur ghar pe nahin hein?" Aisha asked.
"Hein nah memsab, ghar ki malkine abhi tak yahin hein. Ab baitiye, mein ousse boolake lati houn," the girl said and went away.
After a few minutes, an elderly lady came by.
"ETF? What can I do for you people?" she asked with sarcasm.
"Mrs..." Arjun started, only to be replied curtly by a "Mrs Anita Raj Sinha!"
They all were shocked, because Raj was a young man of about 30 years old, while the lady infront of them was above 40 years old.
Anita didn't fail to see the shocked expressions of the people infront of her, so she retaliated by, "Have you come to waste my time?"
"Where is your husband Mrs Anita?" Arjun asked, not affected at all by the coldness in Anita's voice.
Anita stared with indifference at her husband's name, and she walked to take a seat on the closest sofa.
"How would I know where my husband is? He hardly gives any information on where he goes and when he'll be back! And I never asked!" she replied.
"Still you must know where we can find him?" Arjun persisted.
"Nopes, no idea. Why?" Anita said looking at her nails.
They all were getting angry at her, but controlled themselves. Arjun gestured to Aisha to bring the picture of the dead body to Mrs Anita for identification.
The shock was genuine for anyone, when they saw Anita's face at seeing the body. She stared with confusion at the picture and at Arjun, and then fainted.
After a few minutes, when Anita regained consciousness, she started to sob uncontrollably. The whole team waited for her to calm herself before asking her anything.
"Yes, he's Raj. But he had said he was going out of town with some friends. That's all I know," Anita said wiping her tears.
"Didn't you try calling him at all?" Aisha asked gently.
"You have to understand. Our marriage wasn't made in heaven, we fought and all. Besides Raj loved his independence, and hated when I interfered too much."
"Theek hein, can we have more details on him? Like which car he took? His credit cards numbers? His phone number?" Arjun asked.
"Please do find who killed him. He may not have been the best person, but he was still my husband," Anita said with tears in her eyes when the whole ETF was leaving. Arjun nodded to her and all went away.
