Arakshi SS: Mud-wala love.. Pg. 7 4/10

Part 1.

"Ouch". She shrieked and hopped over a giant root blocking her path.

Bending down, she touched her toe.. "Dekhkar nahi chal sakti.."
She muttered to herself and then looked around.. "Wait, uss khadus ne phir mujhe daanta?!"

Smacking herself for hallucinating and imagining weird things, Sakshi shook her head and began walking.. (Rather, tried to walk.)
And then as if suddenly remembering the reason for her being there in the first place, she frowned and muttered a few curses..

"Sab meri hi galti hai.. Kahan mujhe laga Mr. Akdu Rawte mujhe gaon ke kheton mein date pe le jayega." She looked around and glared at the canopy of trees around her as if trying to curse them.

That very moment a gust of wind blew in her direction and the trees swayed along making her jump.

She gulped nervously and silently apologised to them. Err.. I hope you don't speak, do you?

Her alter ego chirped in, Oh Shut up.. Those were Ents and these are.. Wait, what.. Yeah Teak trees..

Sakshi shook her head and looked away from a scary looking huge tree, Lekin yeh toh kisi horror film ke set se bhi zyada daravna hai..


His handsome face flitted before her eyes and she stomped her foot, "Bass ek baar mere haath lag jaye, toh usse aisa sabak sikhaungi ki.."

The imaginary Arjun glared at her and she bit her lip, "Chodo.. Yeh Akdu toh khayalon mein bhi ghoorta hai.."


She cursed the cellular network providers for the umpteenth time in the last hour or so and finally sat down on the slightly damp forest floor.

Her handycam in her lap and a bottle of chilled water she had bought were her only companions as she made her way through the dense forest.

But maybe, just maybe, it wasn't the best decision she had made. She pinched her lips together and looked around timidly.

Dark clouds were slowly gathering in the sky and the sun was about to set. She turned her wrist and read the time. It had been almost an hour since she had been waiting for Arjun to turn up. And now she was slowly starting to get worried.

As much as she loved bickering with him and he enjoyed taunting and making her life miserable, she knew he wouldn't leave her alone in the middle of the forest intentionally. Something surely must have come up.

Sakshi groaned in frustration when her cellphone refused to display signs of any network connectivity.

'Wherever you go, we follow you..'
She made a face and decided to write an article exposing their duplicity.. After all, she had a responsibility towards the society.. Isn't that what the Home Minister had tricked her into believing..

Well, yeah. So she was going to do a bit of social service on returning back home.


But for now, she was the one in need of help, Sakshi reminded herself.

She rubbed her hands and stood up dusting her clothes. Well, donning a baby pink patiala kurta hadn't been a great idea.

She positioned the handycam neatly between her fingers and began scanning the area.
There were no signs of any unusual activity.

No signs of Arjun either.. Her betraying heart chirped in..

He gritted his teeth and shook his head angrily.. The girl had crossed all heights of carelessness..

"Hadh hoti hai laparwahi ki.." He barked into his cellphone and instructed the others to keep a tab on the activities within the village and join him in the forest as soon as they could.

Not only did he have to unmask the Pishaach.. Oh well.. What nonsense!
He snapped a branch angrily when it blocked his way..

He was already annoyed with the fact that someone was taking undue advantage of the villagers' superstitious beliefs and in the process killing innocent people.
But what worried and infuriated him now was that she had gone missing.

As much as he hated to admit, he was at fault this time around.
He shouldn't have left her out of his sight, despite knowing that Miss Sakshi Anand herself went around inviting troubles most of the time.


Light raindrops fell on his head and he sighed.. It was only a matter of time before it would start pouring.
He quickly fished out his cellphone to make a call and confirm her whereabouts. But his network had decided to ditch him as well, adding to his woes.

He made a mental note to visit the network provider's office first thing after he reached the city and samjhofy them in his own way.


Arjun looked around and inhaled a few deep breaths trying to compose himself.
His primary concern was to find Sakshi and make sure she hadn't gotten herself into trouble.
And Number 2, he had to nab the culprit red-handed and solve the case.

Wait! Number 2.. When did his priorities shuffle?

He pushed away apparently unwanted thoughts creeping into his head. She was just a colleague. And now that Rathore wasn't around, he felt responsible for her.

He kicked the ground hard and clenched his jaw. Yes, that's exactly what she meant to him. A colleague; nothing less.. nothing more..

Her heart-melting smiles, genuine concern for him and his pain reflecting in her eyes didn't matter to him.

Neither did the fierce urge to hold her soft petite body against himself and shield her from any harm that came her way bothered him.
Or, so he wanted to believe.

She is a mature girl and an ex-crime reporter. She should be able to deal with any obstacle in her job. He argued with himself.

Wait a second.. You're overlooking a very crucial point here, ACP. The dangerous killer is out there in the woods.
A moment later, he groaned in frustration and ran into the woods like a madman.

He had to get to her before the cold-blooded murderer did..

Sakshi craned her neck and her shoulders slumped in defeat. The forest looked just the way it should've been.. Dark and creepy..

Just when she was weighing her options against heading back on her own, a sound of rustling leaves alerted her.

She almost jumped at the sound and hid behind the bushes, adjusting her camera and preparing herself to witness yet another gruesome crime.

Unknown to her, her other hand had flown to her neck and she clasped the Ganpati locket hanging in a chain. Gannu Bappa, vachav mala.. (Save me..)

She stood with bated breath waiting for a glimpse of the Pishaach but nothing happened for a minute or so.

And then she froze.

Yups! that's it for today.. More later this week.. Maybe in a day or two.. That depends on if you guys are interested in reading further..

Well now behna, no matter how much we deny it, that tiny hope burns within our hearts like a everlasting diya.😛

Yeah, for at times its hard to forget what we have decided, most especially when you and the other BBs treat us to some awesome work.

Anyhow, the title itself is very catchy and I expect it to live up to its name. (Yeah, my evil mind, Mud=Gutter.😈) And year our gutter not the gutters on the road behna.

😆 Okay everyone of you have been very impressed with the Pisach and the visit to the village, your imaginations are running wild.

Anyhow, I say this is a great start, but how the heck does Sakshi end up landing in trouble even without trying?

🤣 I think Arjun and Sakshi should team up against their respective cellular services and SYS them in their own style, they are both thinking along the same line.

Oh and I love their alter egos, they keep things in perspective for both.

Aham...me thinks Arjun is denies way too much, his heart know exactly what he wants, but akdu in him won't let him do what his heart wants to do...I expect we have fireworks coming our way.

I love the start, and please don't tadpofy us for long and update this soon.😳
