Weeks passed by, so did months.
They always felt the emptiness among them. There was no one in place of Arjun, no one dared to take the position that was raised to a great standard by Arjun. It could never be replaced by anyone else.
Aisha missed her brotherly figure and so did Shree, chotu and liza.
Sameer missed his brother, his dear friend. He had vanished without any trace. They did not know if he was even alive or...
That thought always made him restless. This was not the case when Arjun had secluded himself from world in his pain, when sameer hated him, hated his presence, blamed him for roshni's death. This was entirely different. He was with him through out his hunt for sikander, although he said sikander never existed. But it was always him and he knew it. He had seen the raw pain in his friend, self loath, hatred towards himself. He had seen those tears when sikander was finally dead, he was ear to those anguished cries let out by Arjun, he was silent witness to his bleeding heart that was ripped open by sight of sikander.
But Arjun had left him, with out even bidding final bye, and that hurt him most.
Sakshi was a different story all together. She was a mess in herself. She was madly in love with an arrogant jerk, khadoos, ziddi akdu named Arjun. It was not love at first sight types. It was out of respect, admiration, knowing depth of his pain, everything, although she would not negate the fact that she found him irresistibly hot...
Their journey started with his curt remarks, his snide comments, his hate and her zidd.
The time she fell in his arms when he saved her from the arrow, or be it the time when she hugged him tight when he saved her from the bullet, she was intoxicated by him. she stood as his support system, lend a helping hand, most of the time unknown to him, a patient ear to his pain. Her feelings grew stronger towards him with each passing day and she knew that he may not reciprocate it as he always loved his Roshni, light of his life.
But somewhere a tiny ray of hope creped in when he behaved civilly with her, when he acknowledged her presence.
But him vanishing from ETF came like a thunderbolt from blue.

On the other hand, a tiny bud of new found love was blooming between two in ETF- sameer Aisha.
They always hid their feelings behind their duty or indifference mask.
Stealing glances and undeniable care was always there. but sameer and Aisha hesitated.
It was not just hesitation but some other thing that was holding the two back.
Arjun...
They were still searching for him. when they checked the bank account, they realized that he had withdrew all money and closed the account. His sim would be switched off and there was no way to search him.

It was almost 7 months Arjun left ETF, when a letter addressed to sameer reached ETF HQ.
"sir, ye letter apke liye hai" chotu handed over the letter to sameer and glanced at sakshi who was forcing a smile on her face that never reached her eyes.
Sameer opened the letter and gasped out loud gaining everybody's attention.
Sameer just went to his cabin and locked the door.
At the same time Aisha went to terrace, tired of the day's work.
In sameer's cabin
He opened the letter and saw a familiar handwriting.
abbe gadhe, 29 ka horaha hai. Ab to Aisha ko jaake propose kar.
Aise matt ghur isse... jal jaayega ye...
Hairan mat ho. I may not be with you but I know everything. Arjun ke nazar se kuch nahin bachta. Samjhe ya... samjhau?! I know you love her...
Ab zyada der matt kar, aur jaake Aisha ko apna le.
I don't want you to be alone anymore.
Buddha ho raha hai tu kamine...

Sameer had tears in his eyes. He had not lost his friend.
Suddenly his thoughts were broken and he marched out of cabin.
"CHOTU... ye letter kahan se mili? Kaun diya isse?"
"pata nahin sir. Mujhe ye hamare ETF mail box mein mila. Aapka naam tha to main le aaya... kya hua sir? Koi gadbad hai kya??" chotu asked confused.
"thanks chotu... thanks a lot" sameer said gratefully, with a full blown smile, which was shock to all ETFians.

Weeks passed by from that incident and sameer had proposed to Aisha.
He had kept his search for Arjun on but there was no news about him.
Their marriage date was fixed and entire team was happy.
Sameer and Aisha left early to go to delhi, aisha's hometown.
On the way...
"Rathod sir aap galat direction mein jaa rahe hai. Delhi ke liye ye rasta nahin hai..." Aisha said worried why sameer was behaving the way he was.
"first of all Aisha, stop calling me Rathod sir. We are not in office and I am your fianc. Call me sameer. and to answer you, yes we are not going to delhi now"
Aisha was confused as to where they were going.
Sakshi who was sitting silently in the backseat lost in her thoughts, recognized her surrounds.
"sameer, ye to pune ki taraf jaata hai naa? Why are we going to pune now?"
Sameer saw her expressions from the mirror. She was pale, a fake smile plastered on her face. She had lost weight too.
He tenderly smiled at her and said.
"Aisha, sakshi, there are some people I want at my wedding. They are very important... I have had many fond memories with them.." a dreamy smile came on his face and he spoke again
"aur main aayi ke bina shaadi kaise karu??"
"aayi?" Aisha asked confused.
Sameer spared a glance at sakshi and said.
"haan... aayi... Arjun ki aayi hai. Kolhapur mein rehti hai. Uncle to US mein hai par aunty yahan hai... so I am going to pick her..."
"sameer, kahin Arjun aayi ke saath to nahin..."
"I don't know... I don't think so. Wo kahin aur hai...aayi zaroor mujhe phone karti agar arjun wahan hota... kaash wo uss letter ke bajai khud aake bolta..."
Sakshi was lost in arjun's thoughts when sameer was speaking. All the moments they spent together, while nailing sikander flashed in front of her. she was so involved in her thoughts that she never noticed the hours passing nor the conversation taking place between soon to be married couple.
After about 4 hours, sameer halted the car. Aisha had dozed off and so had sakshi. Sameer smiled at Aisha and slowly shook her.
"Aisha... dear utho... Aisha..." Aisha opened her eyes, laziness shown in them.
"umm... sameer... hum kolhapur pohunch gaye???" she was confused at the surroundings. She was still sleepy and did not understand anything. She caught hold of his arm and kept her head on his shoulder closing her eyes again.
Sameer chuckled at her and pecked her nose.
"nope Aisha... we are in pune now. ek aisi jagah hai jo main tumhe dikhana chahta tha... mere past se judi hai wo... I want to make you a part of that life of mine."
Aisha lifted her head and saw him tenderly. He smiled at her and she nodded her head in yes.
They woke sakshi and went inside a vast building.
Sameer felt something was amiss there. it was silent, and he was worried.
He saw an old lady in the big garden and went to her.
"maasi..." he called and the lady turned around.
Her eyes lit with happiness and as sakshi and Aisha watched, sameer ran to her and lifted her in his arms, twirling her around.
The old lady whom sameer addressed as maasa chuckled and hit his shoulder
"hatt badmash. Utaar neeche..."
Sameer lowered her and hugged her.
"maasi... kaisi ho aap??"
She cupped his face
"ab yaad aayi hai kya teri maasi tujhe sameer? tu to uss din ke baad maano mujhe bhool hi gaye"
Sameer lowered his head and spoke
"sorry maasi... main... main nahin jaanta tha ki main kya karu, kya naa karu... mujhe maaf kardo naa..."
"hmm... ab bata,,... shadi vadi ki ki nahin huh!!???"
Sameer smiled at aisha and draped an arm around maasi's shoulder.
"ye dekho maasi... ye hai Aisha... iski aur meri shaadi hone waali hai... aapko lene aaya tha main... aur aisha ko bhi aapse milana tha naa..."
"ishq mohabbat pyaar? Arre waah..." she pinched sameer cheeks and went to Aisha.
"sundar... mujhe ye pasannd hai... agar main galat nahin hoon to tum sameer ke saath kaam karti ho na?"
"jee maasi ji"
"khush raho..." maasi blessed her.
"Aisha, ye gayatri devi, ye ashram chalati hai. Meri bestfriend roshni ki maasi hai ye..."
Aisha looked at sameer with shock in her eyes.
"iska matlab..."
"yeah... she was the one who looked after me when I was in Mumbai in my initial days. I wanted her to be with me at my wedding.."
"aapne pehle kyun nahin bataya mujhe??? Aise last moment mein maasi ko bata ke leke jaana tha kya? Hum thoda jaldi nikal te naa?" Aisha chided sameer and he gave her a sheepish smile.
Maasi coughed and grinned at them.
"acchi baat hai beta... pati ko aise hi kaabu mein rakhna..." she winked at aisha and she blushed.
Sakshi stood aside and watched their interaction silently. So this was roshni's maasi she thought. That means that she might have shared a good relation with Arjun too... she was wondering if she knew where Arjun was.
~~~Her thoughts were broken when she heard sameer speaking.
"maasi, bacche kahan hai? Aaj to Sunday bhi hai? Koi dikh nahin raha..."
Maasi led the three twards the canopy in the garden.
"aaj bacche baba ke ghar gaye hai. Har raviwar wo uske saath hi rehte hai. Bas unke aane ka waqt hogaya... aate hi honge..."
Maasi said handing them juice glasses.
"maasi ye babu kaun hai? Don't tell me ki phir se aap koi aire gaire pe vishwas kar baithi hai.. agar wo koi fraud nikla to??"
"nahin beta... main usse acchi tarah se jaanti hun. Uske rehte bacchon ko koi pareshaani nahin hogi"
"hmm... aap chal rahi ho na mere saath delhi?"
"arre main kaise na aau tere shaadi mein?? Pakka... bas main radha aur shashi ko bula deti hun wo bacchon ka khayal rakhenge yahan..."
They heard a loud cheering voice and a distinct laughter.sameer turned around and saw a van standing at the porch of the building.
"lo sab bacche aa gaye hai yahan. Jao aur mil lo unse beta..."
Sakshi was restless the moment the van entered the gates. She was not sure but something in the air told her he was there...
She turned around and saw a man helping kids to get down, and took their bags.
she felt her heart racing.
Kids ran towards maasi screaming "DADI..."
The man along with them held two small kids in his arms, tickling their tummies with his nose and chuckling, made his way towards maasi.
"maasi... aaj prashant ne do chocolate khaye mere ghar ke fridge se churake... nathkath hogaya hai wo..."
Sameer stood rooted to his place taking in the familiar voice of his friend Arjun.
Why had this thought not occurred to him? Arjun would try to be close to roshni. He saw Arjun coming towards them, laughing and playing with kids. He was sure Arjun had not noticed them.
Tears streamed down sakshi's eyes which she did not bother to wipe.
Aisha was taking in his laughing face at the same time anger bubbling in her.
Arjun placed the two kids on ground and sat next to maasi and placed his head on maasi's lap and closed his eyes, completely unaware of three pairs of eyes watching him intently.
Sameer was watching him unblinking. Arjun looked pale, and thin. He did not have his bandage done and he was wearing pair of cargo pants and sleeveless hoodie.
"maasi... aaj bohut maza aaya hume... sab mall gaye the aur haan...maine carpenter ko bulaya hai.. naye beds banwane ke liye..."
Maasi glanced towards sameer and Aisha who sported similar expressions, and then at sakshi who was crying with a smile on her face, relief spread across her face.
Maasi in an instant knew the young girl loved her baba, her roshni's Arjun.
"baba, dekho aaj yahan kaun aaya hai?"
In return Arjun just snuggled more and took her hand in his and clutched it close to his heart.
"kaun hai maasi????? Koi bhi ho par aapko yaad hai naa aapko aaj bacchon ke liye chocolate cake banana hai"
Sameer was witnessing all this silently. He started speaking
"haan haan... kyun nahin. Maasi to zaroor banayengi naa tumhare liye..." his voice laced with sarcasm.
Arjun's eyes snapped open and he sat next to maasi turning towards the voice.
He saw fuming sameer and equally fuming Aisha. His gaze moved to weeping sakshi and again set his eyes on sameer.
He immediately scrambled on his feet and said
"maasi... main abhi chalte hun. Zaroori kaam hai mujhe. Main baad mein aa jaaunga"
He started moving towards the gate when he was pulled back with great force. He turned around only to earn a hard slap across his cheeks.
He was shocked and saw sameer fuming infront of him.
Sameer grabbed his hoodie collar and jerked him.
"tu khud ko kya samajhta hai Arjun?? Huh!! Bol naa?? Kahan gayab hogaya that u?"
"sam..."
"don't sam me. Sam tere liye ussi din mar gaya jab tune bina bataye ETF chodne ka decision liya samjhe."
"I am sorry sam... please... I needed some time..." Arjun pleaded him
"time chahiye tha naa?? To mujhe batata.. main kya mana kar deta tujhe? Do you think I don't know your state of mind? Tum kabhi nahin badal sakte Arjun kabhi nahin. You will always be a selfish bas***d."
He pushed him back and ran hand through his hair.
Arjun hung his head low and said in a low voice
"I am sorry sam... I really am... i... I had no choice but to leave ETF..."
Before sameer could speak Aisha stood next to him and spoke through gritted teeth
"yeah... no choice right? then who the hell gave you the permission to enter our lives and make place in our heart? Who gave you right to care about us and who gave you right to make us love you, care for you... boliye!!!!!"
Arjun raised his head at her and saw her glaring. He mumbled under his breath
"no one Aisha... I had no right to come to your lives...again... I was going far away but I could not..."
"what do you mean by you were going far away Arjun?"
Sameer asked him, fearing that Arjun had planned to run away even from here.
"main batati hun sameer beta. Arjun saat mahine pehle yahan aaya tha. Bilkul tut chukka tha wo. aur bolne laga ki wo yahan se bhi jaa raha hai.." gayatri devi aka maasi wiped her eyes.
"maine kisi tarah usse yahan rok liya tha..." she completed.
"par aap mujhe call to kar hi sakti thi naa maasi?" sameer asked feeling bad.
"kaise karti beta? Baba ne to mujhse kaha tha ki agar main kisi ko bhi uska yahan rehne ke baare mein batau to wo chala jaayega. Aur main kaise usse aise..."
Sameer turned and glared at arjun again.
He pulled him aside, away from rest people.
Kids stood aside wondering who had slapped their bhaiyya and why were they so angry.
"kyun gaye tum hum sab ko chodke Arjun? Do you even realize how much pain you have inflicted on us? How much pai sakshi is undergoing?"
Arjun's eyes went wide at mention of sakshi.
"it was too hard for me sam... I could not handle myself"
"were not we there for you? Hum sab kya mar gaye the kya???"
"shut up sam.. already main roshni ko kho chukka hun. Kisi aur apne ko kho ke jeene ki himmat mujhme nahin hai..."
Arjun hugged sameer tight and few tears were out of his eyes.
Sameer slowly hugged him back and patted his back gently.
"ab bata..." sameer said in calm voice.
"i...i was so lost sam... I did not know how to breath, how to live when one thing that kept me alive was accomplished. The void was too much...i thought my presence... my presence would snatch all happiness you people deserve..."
Sameer parted from Arjun and said glaring him
"kya matlab hai tumhara Arjun? Tumhari wajah se kisi aur ki..."
"hamesha se yahin to hota aaya hai sameer... jab main chota tha to I could never keep my dad happy due to which aayi suffered and suffering till today. My best friend of my childhood died in the accident leaving his parents hurt. Then came her. roshni. She too left me and I was the reason. you lost your best friend, maasi lost her daughter, kids lost their favorite roshni mam. And then you. You nearly lost your life saying me... I don't want to cause any more pain to anyone sameer. I am tired of all this now. really tired."
Sameer observed Arjun closely. There were dark circles under his eyes, eyes lost their twinkle, his posture defeated, his shoulders slumped.
His friend blamed himself for everything that went wrong. And he had not helped him much. He had added fuel to his burning despair, hatred towards himself by his cutting remarks. He sighed and said
"look Arjun. Jo hua, usse to hum badal nahin sakte. Lekin it does not mean you cannot change your future. It does not mean you cant live"
"I am living"
"do you call this as living? Breathing and eating, faking smile and laugh is not called living Arjun... aur kisne kaha ki tumhari wajah se doosron ko takleef hoti hai? Haan it is true you are the reason for our miseries today"
Arjun saw sameer in his eyes and waited for him to continue
"tum ETF mein nahin ho that hurts all. Shree and chotu, liza miss you a lot. Wo tumhare samjhe yasamjhau ke liye taras rahe hai aur tum yahan bacchon ke saath busy ho. Yes. They are hurting because of you. Aisha tum mein bade bhai ko dekhti hai aur tum... tum uske feelings ko andekha karke gayab ho jaate ho and yes. She is hurt because of you. I was waiting for my best friend and he chose to leave me without even telling me about his departure. Yes I am hurt because of you. Aur sakshi. She loves you like a mad person. aur um usse hurt kar rahe ho usse door jaake. Give life a chance Arjun. Don't run away from happiness"
"I am happy sameer... I am sorry for hurting you. And sakshi... she is better off without me in her life. She and I are not meant to be together. My past will not allow me to be with her. I wanted her to forget me and move on.. She deserves someone better..."
"is it why you left Arjun?" sameer asked him. Before Arjun could answer, they heard another voice.
"who the hell gave you permission to decide for me ACP Arjun Suryakant Raute?"
"Sakshi... wo main"
"Arjun I knew you did not reciprocate the same feelings. But it was completely my choice to love you. You did not ask me but my heart did."
"that is not right sakshi"

Sameer left them alone to speak and went to Aisha and maasi.
"sameer..."
"Aisha... we need to be patient. Wo pagal hogaya hai. He is too broken from inside. Let me put it in a better way. He is afraid of love not. He is scared to fall in love again""
"beta... sakshi baba se..."
"ji maasi... par Arjun..."
"usse waqt do beta... agar sakshi ka pyaar saccha hai to wo Arjun ko phir se pyaar karna sikhayegi..."
"hope so maasi... hope so..."
"aur haan sameer, I will not spare your best friend this time. Pehle mulakaat mein mera mission spoil kiya aura b mujhse bina bole bhaag gaye. Aabe do unhe... inspector Aisha kappor kya chees hai batati hun." Aisha said with naughty glint.
"aisa kya karne waali ho tum?"
"mere jaisi behan milne pe mujhe khud se kuch karne ki koi zaroorat hi nahin hai sameer" she winked at him and both turned to look at exchange between Arjun ands sakshi.

"what is not right Arjun? Tumhara roshni se pyaar karna galat tha? Nahin. Kya tumhare aur sameer ki dosti galat thi? Nahin. Kya tumhara mere liye care karna galat tha? I don't think so. Then how is me falling in love is wrong?"
"sakshi ye sab alag alag baatein..."
"alag tumare liye honge. Par mere liye nahin. Main hamesha dil se sochti hun Arjun aur mere dil ko inn sab mein fark karna nahin aata"
"sakshi I am not suitable for you. I wont be able to love you"
"I will always love you"
"I am broken person, shattered beyond repair"

"ye tum kaise keh sakte ho? I did not take your permission to fall in love with you. Tum jaante bhi ho ki mujhpe kya beeti thi jab tum bina kisi trace ke gaayab ho gaye the? Har pal ek ajeeb se darr ke saath jee rahi thi main. My mind was going crazy thinking ki agar tumhe kuch... I was unable to breath Arjun... I was suffocating every moment..."
"sakshi..."
"I don't want you to love me back Arjun. But let me love you... I want to... I want to see your heart... your heartfelt smile... I want to heal your heart"
"I don't want to erase roshni's memory"
"I am not here to replace roshni. I loved you when I knew you loved and still love roshni. All I want is a tiny place in your heart Arjun... let me love you..."
"sakshi... I really wont be"
"I said you don't have to... lets start from being friends... aage ka aage dekhenge... I will wait"
"you may have to wait long sakshi"
"I am ready to wait for you till eternity Arjun... and I will..."
She tenderly hugged him and he with hesitance snaked his arms around her.
Looking at them, sameer and Aisha hugged each other. Slowly they made towards Arjun and sakshi.
"Arjun... ETF waapas aa..."
"sameer... I don't know..."
"you can. All are waiting for you..."
"par...i need time..."
"no par warr... mere aur Aisha ki shaadi ke baad you are joining ETF. Main Comm., sir se baat karunga."
"shaadi??? Kab?"
"2 weeks..." Aisha said and blushed.
"aahaa... to mere letter ne kuch to asar kiya tumpe sameer..."
"of course... abhi jaldi chalo... apne kapde pack karo. We will leave to kolhapur, pick aayi and move to delhi... chalo... I ll send sakshi with you..."
"uski zaroorat nahin hia. I will not run away... par aayi..."
"don't worry Arjun" sameer placed an arm on his shoulders.
"aayi zaroor samjhegi... par haan. Aage se kabhi aisi koi harqat karne ki koshish bhi matt karna.. samjhe ya... samjhau?"
"samajh gaya sam... ab main jaau?"
"haan chal jaa aur jaldi aa..."
Arjun turned around to leave when Aisha called him back
"arjun sir..."
Arjun turned around and raised his eye brow
"shaad mein aap mere bhai ke jagah rahoge naa?"
Arjun walked towards her and cupped her cheek, kissed her forehead.
"of course. I will..."
He glanced at sakshi and smiled at her.
He walked towards his van, to start to his home.
Four people with bunch of kids stood smiling after him...
