She entered the cabin quietly,
for the first time, not feeling the need to knock.

She saw him standing near the window, his back to her and his hands balled up in fists.
His hurt and rage were evident.

Unaware to herself, she walked up to him and placed her hand on his shoulder.
"Sameer?"

& before they both knew it,
he turned and crushed her to himself,
as if he would die the moment he let go of her;

"Aisha!" he sobbed,
she patted his back slowly;
"Mai yahi hu"
she assured him and slowly freed herself & led him to the couch.
"Mai pani laati hu sir,"
she about to go when he pulled her hand,
"Ruk jao na Aisha, please."

She nodded and sat beside him,
waiting for him to speak,
She knew this was the moment that he'd open up to her,
he cleared his throat.

"Baat 10 saal pehle ki hai,
mai ek undercover mission pe tha, k tabhi mujhe uska call aya,
purey 1 saal baad usne mujhe call kia tha,
wo iss shehar me nai nai ayi thi, aur..."

he looked at her & she silently urged him to go on.

he turned to her & smiled and tightened his hold on Aisha's hand.

His smile faded and the lump returned to his throat,
"Maine unhe kho dia Aisha,
I lost both my best frendz, akela ho gaya hu mai,"
he whispered, and rested his head on her shoulder, she patted his head, soothing him.she was his rock;
he knew he could trust her, rely on her, she was his own.

"Aap akele nahi hai Sameer, mai hu na aapke sath"
she reassured him,
he stared deep into her dark orbs...
"Mujhe chhor k nahi jaogi na?"
he asked her childishly,
she squeezed his hand.
"kabhi nahi"
she solemnly promised.
They stayed like this for a while.
She broke eye-contact first,
his eyes landed on the clock
"Oh shit! Its 12:30am!! Baat karte karte pata hi ni chala!"
he jumped up,
she followed.
"Chalo tumhe ghar chhor deta hu... "

In the SUV
a sudden thought entered her mind,
"Sir! Sir! Rukiye"
the car screetched to a halt
"kya hua?"
he asked worried,
"Aapke ghar chalte hai,"
"kyu?"
"Batati hu, chaliye."
bewildered he drove to his apartment,
after they got down, he asked her but she asked him to wait and she kept her stuff on a table
& entered the kitchen,
he followed.
"Baat kya hai Aisha?"
"Bataungi na! Pehle aap bataiye cheeze kaha pe rakhi hui hai?"
he shows her the stuff,
and to his surprise she started cooking!!
"Tum yaha khana banane ayi ho?"
"Haa, aapne abhi tak kuch ni khaya na"

He just stared at her amazed!
at 1AM of night without being bothered about her safety, she was here cooking for him.
She caught him staring at her.
"Kya dekhrahe hai Sir?"
"yahi k tum pagal hogayi ho shayad" he replied with a smirk,
she grinned.

after a while she served him dinner.
"Wow Aisha!! Rajma Chawal!!"
he squeld lyk a kid and dug in! She smiled.
After dinner they chatted and laughed and shared their memories...
just like old friends.
It was very late so Sam requested Aisha to stay back at his house,
He always wanted her safe & happy
but confusd why, she's becom the reason of his smile
Zindagi me khushi tere aane se hai..
Warna jeene me gham har bahaane se hai..
Ye alag baat hai hum mile aaj hai,

though taken aback but Aisha was pleasd to see him cncernd for her,
She just wantd him happy

She was almost falling asleep when loud noises made her alert,
being a cop and having the cop-ish nature,
she first checked her room,
then the others.

reaching Sam's room she couldnt help but smile...
He was the culprit!
sprawled out on his bed, snoring.
so child-like, so peaceful.
She felt a dull throb in her chest.
She wanted to ruffle his hair,
she wanted him to rest his head on her shoulder.
he looked so innocent sleeping,
gone was the broken friend, the responsible chief.
he was just himself...
just Sameer...
her Sameer?

Anjane ho tum
jo begane ho tum
to pehchane lagte ho Q
tum gehri neendo me jab soye soye ho
to mujhme jagte ho Q

at that moment she vowed to herself...
come what may she would unite the two friends.
She knew it would take a lot of Hardwork on her and huge egos on their part.
But she would do it, for him.
She couldnt see him in pain...
