Guest Post by Gorky M: Arjun ' There is something about the groom!

Rushing for a meeting and late as usual when I get this phone call. Without getting into the details of the conversation and the language used, the outcome is that while the Forum 32 team is happily following Karan Singh Grover and Surbhi Jyoti all over Jaipur, Ajmer etc. and citing reasons of no internet connectivity, the task of introducing today's episode of Arjun has come to rest on my delicate shoulders! I do not believe them but I am left with no choice.

We give working titles to all our episodes so that during the making of the show ' right from the story stage till the post. This is to help us get a fix on what all of us are talking about because at any point of time there are about 6-10 stories on the board from concept stage. Working titles help us make sense of random phone calls like, "Pushpa is not available on Thursday," or "Should Anjali's dead body be on the table or on the floor?" or even better " The blind man is stuck in the rain and he will be late by an hour!" Today's episode is titled - "There is something about the groom" based on the extremely popular film There is something about Mary.

In India they say all crimes are a result of "jar, joru and jameen". Jar means wealth, joru means wife or woman and jameen means land. I know that "jameen" is actually "zameen" but I like the way all the three "Js" come together to sound very colloquial. In fact, the police first try and follow these as the primary motives while trying to get to their suspects.

In today's episode of Arjun, a newly wedded couple meets with an accident in a lake. What follows is a tale of jar, joru and jameen where everybody seems to have an axe to grind. Today's episode has been penned by Rahil Qaazi who has also written one of my favourite films in recent times ' Do Dooni Chaar and I think it has a very unique flavour.
