Part-2
"Ik baar meri baat sunloge toh kya jayega tumhara...?"
"Tumhari baat sun ne ki galti kar chuka hunn mein...achi tarah jaanta hunn tumhari baat sunn ne ke nuksaan.."

The duo was silent. They weren't talking. Just lost in their thoughts.

'Theek kaha tumne Rathore, kaash uss din, woh sab na huya hota. Na mein Roshni ko khota...na humari dosti yunn nafrat mein badal jaati, aur na hi Ameesha, humse dur jaati...Kaash, uss din Sikandar ne mujhse Roshni ko dur na kiya hota...kaash mein uss waqt tumse aur Ameesha se dur jaane ko nah kehta...kaash Ameesha humari zindagi se yunn na jaati...'

'Kaash humari dosti nafrat mein na badalti Arjun, jis waqt tumhein humari sabse zyaada zarurat thi, ussi waqt tumne humein apne aap se dur kyun kiya? Aakhir kyun? Weren't we 3...U, me n ameesha...supposed to stay together...always? Kyun Arjun...aakhir kyun?'

15 minutes later,

"Aa gya tumhara lodge..."

Arjun was still lost in his thoughts. He didn't realize that they have reached.

"Rawte..."

"Haan, haan..."

"Pahunch gaye hain hum..."

"Thanks.."

He stepped out of the SUV. Both of them looked at each other for a second. Both had 'some unshed tears' in their eyes. Arjun walked away, while Rathore drove away.

ETF Office

"Guys, I think ab humein nikalna chahiye..."

"Theek hai Mam"

And the trio reached the parking lot, and left for their respective places.

Rathore's place

He opened the door, went inside, and locked the door.

He sat on the sofa and closed his eyes.

"Bachon jaldi uth jayo...jaldi...academy nahi jaana kya?"

"Maa, uth jayenge..."

"Haan maasi, bas 5 minute aur, bahut ninni aayi hai.."

"Sameer, aap chote bache hain jo ninni kahenge? Aur Arjun...zidd nahi chalegi, jaldi uthiye..."

"Maasi...aapke liye toh chota bacha hi hunn na? bas 5 minute aur..."

"Maa, bas 5 minute aur, phir hum pakka uth jayenge..."

"Bas 5 minute, uske baad ik hi awaaz lagaungi, nahi uthe toh mein dobara uthane nhi aayungi"

"Haan maa, kaha na uth jayenge...Sam, bol na maa ko.."

"Hmm...maasi jao na...sone do thodi der..."

Tears rolled down his cheeks. Those 'unshed tears' weren't in his control now.

A simple lodge room,

He sat on the bed, whereas his eyes were stuck on a beautiful portrait hanging on the wall.

"Ahaan, Archie, tunhein meri bhabhi dhund bhi li, aur mujhe bataya bhi nahi?"

"Kya keh raha hai tu Sam?"

"Acha...samajh mein nhi aaya...yeh photo dekh...samjha ya samjhaun?" he said as he showed him the photo and winked at him.

"Abe! tujhe kahaan se mili yeh photo?"

"Economics ki book se..."

"Photo waapis kar..."

"Acha...itna pyaar? Himmat hai toh leke dikha..."

"Mujhe challenge kar raha hai?"

"Haan, tujhe hi challenge kar raha hunn..."

"Acha! Teri toh!" he said, as he ran behind his friend.

He smiled, as he relived those moments for a while.

They both were lost in their thoughts. Thinking about the beautiful bond of friendship they used to share.
Suddenly, a particular name, struck their mind... 'Ameesha'

She was sitting all alone on the bench. Waiting for them to come.

"Aane do dono ko aaj, agar aaj inka korma na banaya toh mera naam bhi Ameesha Singh nahi"

Suddenly, a voice came from behind,

"Aapne pukara aur, hum chale aaye, classes apni hum, bunk kar aaye"

"Archie! Police academy ki classes bunk kardi?"

"Aur nahi toh kya..."

"Tu bhi na bas pagal hai, woh kahan hai?"

"Acha...shaadi se pehle hi woh...wah, ladki ho toh aisi...Sam is lucky I say..."

"Tu chup karke khada reh.." he said, as he pinched him.

"Aah aah, sorry Sam, aage se nahi kahunga! Ouch!"

"Hmm...theek hai.."

"Kahan reh gya tha tu? Humesha late!"

"Humesha late? Haww! Ik toh classes bunk karva di, upar se tu lecture de rahi hai...tujhe pata bhi hai kiska lecture miss kiya? Raghuvendra Pratap ka...wohi, jiska Arjun chamcha hai..."

"oye! Mein nhi uska chamcha..."

"You are!" the rest two spoke unitedly.

Why? Why they were busy thinking about their pasts, that past, they never wanted to think about.
The friendship, which was no more.
The love, which remained unspoken.
The separation, which they wished never happened.

Meanwhile,
Kolkata.

"Aa gayi ACP sahiba!"

"Tu bhi na Sids!"

"Kya yaar, acha sunn, tere liye letter aaya hai..."

"Haan theek hai, ik kam kar, pani pila de, mein tab tak jaake change karlun...and haan dinner bhi lagade..."

15 minutes later,

"Tunhein letter dekha?"

"Nah yaar, pehle toh nahayi, ab dinner kar rahi hunn...iske baad dekhungi..."

10 minutes later,

"Yaar ye letter toh...Commissioner Sir ke office se hai.."

"Arey pagal, enevelope hi dekhti rahegi ya letter bhi kholegi?"

"Haan haan, ik minute"

She opened the envelope and started reading the letter.

"Yaar, transfer orders hai..."

"Hai bhagvan! Abhi Kolkata aaye huye, sirf thode hi mahine huye hain...aur abhi transfer?"

"Haan, department waale pagal ho gaye hain lagta..."

"Vaise kahaan huya hai tera transfer?"

"Kolkata Crime Branch se seedha ETF? Woh bhi Mumbai.."

Mumbai. The place she never wanted to visit in her life again.

"Ab kya karegi tu? Ab toh jaana hi padega tujhe Mumbai..."

"Dekhte hain..."

"Vaise ik baat bolun Ameesha.."

"Haan Sidhhi"

"Meine tere aane se pehle letter khola tha..."

"Iska matlab tunhein research bhi ki hogi..."

"Haan...aur tujhe ik baat batani thi..."

"Kya Sidhhi?"

"Tujhe pata hai ETF mein kaun kam karta hai?"

"Nahi, kabhi dhyan dene ka mauka nahi mila, par sab kehte hain ki ETF ki team kaafi achi hai..."

"Mein bataun kaun karta hai wahaan?"

"Haan bata na..."

"Sameer aur Arjun..."

She looked at her friend with a shocked expression on her face.

"Kya?"

"Haan..."

"Duty chahe pasand ho ya napasand, karni padhti hai..."

"Haan Roshni, theek kaha tumne, lekin Archie ko kaun samjhaye...Usse toh tumhare saath rehne ka bahana chahiye..."

"Kya huya Ammie? Kahaan kho gayi tu?"

"Kuch nahi yaar, acha subah jaldi utha dena, packing karni hai, kal hi nikalna hai, parson subah report karna hai."

"Acha ACP sahiba, aur kuch?"

"Nahi meri genious research specialist...Chal good night."

'What will be their reaction, jab woh mujhe dekhenge? Itne time baad...everything must have changed.'

'Kyun? Aakhir kyun yeh sab yaad aa raha hai...? Nahi yaad karna mujhe kuch bhi...Roshni..I need you, help me.'

'Kya ho gaya hai aaj mujhe? Why I'm just being nostalgic today?'

The only answer to their queries was : DESTINY
