CHAPTER 21:

Arjun and Riya were ready to go to work. They had their breakfast. She was about to move to the door, when he pulled her to him. "ye kya kar rahe ho aap?" she was blushing as she could feel his breath on her face. He was giving his infectious smile. She blushed at it. "oye hoye.ithne sharmathe hue mien tumhe kabhi dekha hi nahi"

"sharmya haina meine? Pehle bhi? Jab aap ithne kareeb athe the?" she asked innocently. But she could see his smile evaporating. She felt bad. "sorry Arjun. I didn't mean to hurt you." He smiled back.

"its ok. Bohot kuch miss kiya hai na meiene? Its ok. Saare hisaab chukka dungi. Par mujhe kabhi kabhi yaad dilathe rahne." Though he said it with a smile, she could feel the pain in his voice. Her eyes filled at his words. She came forward and pecked his lips. "of course, ab yaad dilana meri zimedari hai" she gave him her dimple smile. He took her face in his hands, and came closer to her. He kissed her lips, and she responded back. After a while, they were catching their breath, smiling. "hm... ab thode bohot yaad aaraha hai..." he said with a crooked smile. She hid her face in his shoulder and he held her tghtly.

"lagtha hai ab mujhe yaad dilana padega ki hume ek case solve karna hai, aur hume jaana bhi hai." she took her face and said with a serious face."yes SIR, chale?" they smiled and went to the office.

ETF office:

Arjun snd Riya reached the office in the usual time. They were happy. All could see a change in the air. They were much relaxed. Sameer was so happy for his friend. Yes, he was back. They wished good morning.

"kya baath hai Riya, kaafi badle badle dikh rahe ho?"

"kuch nahi Shree. Bas aise hi" she was blushing and combed her hair back from fer forehead. Shree saw it. the same ring that he saw in Arjun's cupboard, for Riya. Now it was in her hand.

"Ri, tumhare haath mien kya hai?" she looked at the ring. She smiled and lowered her eyes. Arjun was smiling. "WHAT? Sach me?" Shree was so happy.

"kya hua Shree?" Sameer and Chotu were not getting it. "Sir.. Ri.. uske haath mien dhekiye. Ring!!!" Sameer saw it. he looked at Arjun and hugged him heartly. "Welcome back, Arjun. welcome back" he said it with full heart. All were hugging and congradulating each other. Sameer hugged Riya as a brother. All were happy.

"ab zara case pe dhyan de?" Arjun asked sarcastically. "tum nahi badlonge Rawte" he said all took their chair. Riya was sitting near to Arjun. But he noticed some worry on Rathod's face.

"kya hua Rathod? Everything alright?"

"Rawte tum janna nahi chahoge ke hum sab kya chupa rahe the tumse.?"

"sab log right time ka wait ker rahe the na? agar hogaye hai tho boldo" Rathod was silent for a while. "yes Arjun, its time.you should know the truth. Kyu ki ye sab jo horaha hai, wo sab judi hai. wo girls missing case, Rohan murder case aur tumhare atheeth, sab e hi naam se judi hai .. SIKANDER."

Arjun was shocked at the name. he felt it so familiar. Some where he felt a pain, some helplessness. Some where he could feel someone crying out for him. Someone reaching for him. He closed his eyes panting heavily.

The whole team was watching him. He was completely going out of control. Riya placed her hands over his clenched fist. "Arjun,relax. Relax. Are you ready for this?" he opened his eyes to her. He nodde positive. He looked at Rathod indicating him to go on. Sameer gave him a moment to relax and then he began. Their friendship, meeting Roshni, the mission, a new friendship, Sikander, the marriage, about the Goa trip, his anniversary, and at the end ... her death. Riya, Shree and Chotu till now only knew that Roshni was killed by sik, but knew nothing about Arjun's past. All were shocked.

Riya looked at Arjun. There was a lone tear in his eyes. She held her hands more tightly. He was looking at her. Slowly he stood up and walked towards his cabin. "Arjun?" she called him back.

"mujhe thode time do Riya. I need some time alone." He moved to his cabin. Riya tried to follow him, but Rathod stopped her. "give him some time Riya. He'll be back" she sat heavily in the chair. Shree held her shoulder assuring her. Rathod took a chair and sat opposite her.

"Riya, I need your help." She looked up. "Riya, aisa kuch baath hai, jo mien abhi bhi usse chupaya hai. in fact usse kehne ka himmath nahi hai mujhme. I need your help with that." She looked confused at him. He brought forward a file to her, and she took it still confused. "Riya, ye Roshni ki post mortem reports hai. aur isme ye likha hai... ke... jab uske death hua tha... she ... she was pregnant." Riya felt herself loosing. "I know its tough to tell him. Aur jithna mujhe patha hai, jab thak uska post mortem report nahi mila tha, Arjunko ye baath patha thak nahi tha"

"ye aap kya keh rahe sir? Iske matlab, Arjun ko ye baath patha nahi tha ke Roshni pregnant thi.?"

"nahi Riya. Usse patha nahi tha. I remember, uss din case ke baath wo ghar gaye the. Kuch time ke baath uska call aya ke Roshni missing hai. I went to his home. "Sir, tho wo pregnancy ke bare mien, unhe kab patha chala.?"

"anthim sanskar, aur unke hospitalization ke baad, jab wo uthe, bas usse ek hi kaam tha... Sikander ko dhundna. Jab usne saare files check kiye, thab hi usse patha chala... I remember the day well... wo aakhri din tha jab mein mere dost se mila tha. Uss din wo puri tharah toot gaya tha. Aur fir I lost him. Bohot saalon ke baath ab mila tha usse. Aur ab..." his voice cracked.

"don't worry sir, your friend will be back soon. Par sir, mien ye baath unse kaise kahu?"

"Riya agar usse koi keh sakthe hai, wo sirf tum ho" he looked pleadingly. She nodded and waited for a while. then she went to the cabin.

Arjun was in his chair, his head in his both hands. She went closer to him and placed a hand on his shoulder. He looked up. There was no tear, but it had a great sadness in it, the one that broke heart. She sat on a chair close to him.

"I killed her, Riya. I killed her. Wo sirf isliye mara tha kyunki wo mujhse pyaar karthi thi. So I killed her." The tears rolled down his cheeks. She wipped it nodding negative.

"please don't say that, you never killed her. Aise baath karke aap apne pyaar ko, apne Roshni ko hurt kar raha hai. so never say it again." She hugged him and he was losing himself on her shoulder. "please Arjun, apne aap ko sambhalo please" she held on him for a while. later she took his face in her hands and made him look at her.

"Arjun, ab jo mien kehna wali hu, I swear it will hurt you. Par ab koi bhi baath aapse chupana nahi chhthi. So hear it patiently. Aapne aapko ye sunne mien thayyar karo." He was confused.

"Arjun... jab Roshni mari thi... she...she was pregnant." Arjun was all numb at her words. There was nothing he could do. He could not cry, he could not speak. He just sat there. Riya sensed it. she took his face and kissed on his forehead. And then stood up. She went close to him who was sitting numb. After a while he woke up and found himself on a chair and she standing near to him. He wrapped her waist, and kept his head close to her chest. He was totally breaking down. H e wept bitterly. And she held him so tightly.

"rolijiye aap... jithna chahiye, uthna rolijiye. Mien yahi hu. Hamesha hamesha keliye." After a long time, he left her. She gave him water and wipped his tears. At last there was a change in his expressions.

" I will find him Riya. I'll find him" he was detrmined.

"ha Arjun, we'll get him. Aur iss baar aap akele nahi hai. we all are with you" she kissed his forehead. Yes, he was ready to get him, Sikander.
