It was almost midnight when team ETF finally sat down in their conference room, closing up the case, dead tired! It was a rather easy case for Arjun to solve.

The killer was found. Rakesh Nawal, was one of the residents who owned an illegal medicine factory. Gajendar Sarker who was a former businessman had found about Rakesh's illegal activity and blackmailed Rakesh for money. Gajender intended to start over his business with the money he was supposed to get but Rakesh got him killed by his brother-in-law and business partner, Sujoy Ghosh.

Arjun had a gut feeling that one of the residents was the culprit. So, he called all the residents to meet up in Mr. Kiptea's living room for a normal interrogation. After they all gathered around, they were served plain water by Neha and Riya which all of them took rather bothered. And then Chotu and Shree had taken those glasses back from them and safely put them away. Now, comes Arjun's master plan.

Arjun stated calmly that Forensic had found a fingerprint on the dead body and now that he has got their fingerprints on the glasses they held, the killers will be out soon enough. Which was a complete lie but this did scar the whole crowd. Rakesh even threatened Arjun that he will sue them as they had deceived him by getting his fingerprints without his concurrence. Arjun just spared him a "shut up' look. Mr kiptea tried to escape but Chotu caught him and Mr kiptea was declared the murderer. After he was taken away, one senior lady started to tell how mr Kiptea looked so innocent but he had killed Gajender and Shama so brutally. How can a person cut a girl in 25 pieces? That's when Sujoy, being the idiot dumb said, it was 18

And Arjun caught him red-handed because besides the killer and ETF no one knew how many cuts were in Shama's body.

After a great interrogation lead by Rathore, Raute and Chotu, Sujoy started to sing like a bird. He said how he and Rakesh had planned to kill Gajender after he blackmailed them. They fed some money to the local police and had that case closed. But last week, they found out about Shama who almost had found about them. So, they kidnapped her and brutally killed her like they did to her father. But after, raping her viciously. This had raged Riya to no extent and she slapped Sujoy hard after handing them to the police.

Thus, Riya's first case was closed.

Journey back to ETF office was rather silent. Riya, Arjun and Sameer in one SUV, Arjun driving. The other SUV had Shree, Neha and Chotu. Riya sat on the back, resting her head on the headstand while gazing outside. Arjun while driving, looked into the mirror to see her gazing outside looking extremely tired and somehow upset. Rathore observed these two quietly. So, this is Riya, whom Rathore had heard a lot about'. from her.

They finally reached the office and literally threw themselves in the chairs. It was midnight and the groan coming from Chotu's stomach reminded them that they still didn't eat their dinner. Rathore call it a day but after asking Arjun to drop Neha and Riya home to which Arjun nodded calmly. It was late at night and even if Rathore wouldn't ask him, he would drop the girls home. (hayee, gentleman ☺️ )

Even though Riya panicked at the thought of being in the same car with him, she knew it would be foolish of her to argue right now. So, she bid goodnight to Chotu, Shree and Rathore, grabbing her bag and followed Neha & Arjun.

Neha settled herself on the back with her bagpack and files on the other seat leaving no choice for Riya other than sit infront. Riya cursed her luck and hopped up in the front. The drive was silent. No one said anything to anyone. Neha was getting bored. She had hoped, she'd get to see something happening between these two but they sat tacit. One just focused on his driving and one had her eyes fixed outside.

They reached Neha's house & Neha bid them Goodnight. Riya replied her with a small smile, even Arjun said goodnight. (Arjun likes Neha too much you see! 😆Show mein bhi, yaha pe bhi!🤣)

Arjun starts the engine and Riya quietly tells him her address. Arjun drives silently. Riya getting bored and feeling suffocated, she turns the radio on. Arjun looks at her and seeing her facing the opposite, he stays quiet.

Much to their horror, this song starts to play.

Riya feels like suddenly her breath got stuck and she is dizzy. This song fit them perfectly. Though she and Arjun had never been laila majnu or anything sorta like that. What they had was pure' it was friendship on its best and unconditional love which got disrupted by time'cruel life.

Arjun felt like he was in a storm, a bloody storm and he couldn't get out of it no matter how hard he tried. The decisions he made 4 years back, the mistakes he made 4 years back, hadn't let him sleep peacefully. He is still paying for it and he always have to. He looked at her; she seemed tensed as she hurriedly turned of the radio. She looked at him, catching him looking at her intently and turned away. "Stop the car." She said.

"Kya? Par ghar toh abhi dur hai.." Arjun asked.

"woh mujhe kuch groceries kharidna hai, so please stop the car now' She told him, still not facing him. He stopped the car and saw that they were outside a 24 hours opened store.

"main bahar wait karta hu." Arjun says coolly.

"No need." Came her curt reply. She looks at him and says, "Main khud chali jaungi. Jyada dur nehi hai. Aapko takleef karne ki jarurat nehi."

She gets off the car without letting him protest and says a goodnight before closing the door and walking off.

Arjun sits dumbfounded, watching her re-treating back. God! Kya yeh duri kabhi khatam nehi hogi?

Arjun starts the engine and hits the road, turning on the radio.

Riya walks in the store. And coincidentally this song is also playing in the sound system. She closes her eyes for a moment then starts to choose stuffs and put them in a basket.

She comes to the cashier. An oddly familiar old man greets her saying, "Riya baby,aap?" She smiles at the man, saying "Pronam dadu, kaise ho aap?"

"Hum theek hai, beta. Aap kaisi ho?" the man asked her.

"Hum bhi theek hai Dadu. Bas aaj hi baapas aayi hu." Riya said, smiling at the old man.

"Saras! Arjun Baba bhi aaye hai kya?" the man asked in reply to which Riya just nodded no. "humne aap dono ko bohot miss kiya" the man said.

Riya just smiled, handing him her credit card.

*Flashback*

Arjun and Riya on their early 20's. Arjun makes Riya sit on one of those trolley and runs through the whole store, making Riya laugh hysterically much to the other customers entertain.

Arjun hands Riya her favorite chocolate and marshmallow ice-cream. Riya beams at him and starts to eat her ice-cream. Arjun stands there smiling at her who's eating ice-cream like some 3 years old.
"Shonu! bacchi ho tum abbhi!", Arjun wipes her lips, smiling, giving her a you-are-a-kid look. She just chuckles. "So toh hu! tumhi ne bigara Dungu!"

Arjun smiles then grins planning something evil. He points her to look somewhere but takes the whole scoop of ice-cream in his mouth. Riya gives him a I-will-kill-you look and runs behind him. Both laughing.

*flashback ends*

"Riya beti"

Riya comes out her trance and takes her credit card back. She takes her bags and wishes the man a good night.

"Riya beti." The man calls out. "jee, dadu?"

"Arjun baba ka khayal rakhna. Usse tumhari bohot jarurat hai. Aab jo tum aa gayi ho, mujhe yakeen hai ki uski zindegi mein phir se rang laut ayega."

Riya didn't get what he was hinting at. She didn't know what happened to him these years. She never got a chance to be frank. Forensic studies and training literally kept her away from everything. The last update she had of him was the one when he got married to Roshni almost 2 years back. Then she went for her training and dint know anything.

Riya just smiled and came out the store. To her surprise, Arjun was NOT there. She had kinda guessed that he won't leave but hey, it's not the Arjun she knows. He's not her Dungu. She starts to walk towards her house and gets there after 10 minutes walk.

She gets into the house safely and locks the door.

From a little distance, Arjun turns on the head lights. He saw her locking the door safely. Arjun never left. He waited for her to come out from the store and followed her from a different road.

Now that she reached safely, he sighed at ease.

So, here is the newest update. Cheddi cheddi comment karo and let me know how am I doing with this FF? 😕 Anyhu.. I just had to close the case! grhhh..was getting bored. 😛 so not so much flashbacks. But the next one will have more flashbacks as Riya has to decorate the house...after all these years! 😉

Fun fact: I introduced Neha on 3rd feb and they had Neha featured on the very next episode! 😆 Aissala! 😎 I wonder if cv's do stalk me or not! 😆
